As a personal belief. I think she was once human and her memories were transfered into an automata, that is why she remembers her past life.
In the lyrics of the songs, it seems something heavy happened to her ib her previous life, msybe war, maybe a revolution that ended with her dying or at the verge of dead.
What I dont know is if this is actually a third life, as in thd first one and second one she died to wars and lost importsnt people to her.
For example there is the girl that holds a bow and looks like Zhu. The one thst she calls a friend snd fought with her back to back.
From Qingyi's trust page:
"As an artificial human, her personality is derived from ancient cultural texts from the old civilization. Her body, known as an "automaton", is an intelligent construct composed of biological materials."
I also want to note that in my main language, portuguese, it explicitly states she was never human for some reason.
I love the shocked face when the song starts
Could be zhu yuan ancestor, or i also heard, that maybe it was a completely different person, but because she doesnt remember(as she only has bits of her old memories), the memory bank substitute it with the closest person to her now. Could also be just to fit about friendship and loyalty part of the lyrics.
It's one plausible reason for why she remembers Zhu Yuan in her past life but let's also not forget that she's vastly old and aging in soul so it's likely that her memories are likely outdated and is only filling forgotten memories as people she knows in the present, in this case, Zhu Yuan, who likely her close trusted friend that gives the same vibes back then so it's her instead of someone she remembers properly, but this is my only assumption as well.
My personal theory is that Qingyi is old, from the era of Old Eridu. She's been rebooted multiple times, or maybe reconstructed after destruction, since the song hints at reincarnation. I think the song also hints at memory issues, in that she forgot a lot of her "old lives." Lastly, either she started as a human who uploaded their mind, or her personality was created by using a real person as a template (and maybe had some of their memories ad a result).
Id disagree, that woman is purposely meant to look like zhu yuan im pretty sure its not literally zhu yuan herself, its got to either be someone who LOOKS like her or qingyi is imprinting her face onto that person, maybe cause that person was someone just like zhu yuan back then
I feel like that was showing us that neither of them where actually there. These aren't her memories, but stories from the history texts her AI was trained on bleeding through and mixing with her own memories, to the point she struggling to separate them.
There is an understanding that QINGYI is an AI system generated from a large amount of ancient civilization big data, so she has many memories that do not belong to her. Being damaged in the battle led her to recall memories that should not have belonged to her.
They are yelling out Xiangqi(Chinese Chess) moves or gambits as you would call them basically.
The girl that loks like Zhu Yuan does not have red stripes in her hair, she's only wearing a red ribbon which she used to tie her hair up, meaning it's not her.
you can relive past lives for some it's natural (and there are many documented cases) for others they have to be hyponitised into regressing.
this reminds me so much of Fu Hua from honkai impact, but Fu Hua is a phoenix, this is actually hard to explain in a logical way without game lore.
