QUESTION OF THE DAY -- What Are YOUR Mock Trades For JT Miller And/Or Elias Pettersson? Would YOU Want To Make A Deal For Either Player? If So, Which One & Why?
I wouldn’t pursue this because foundation of support players is not in place yet. Power forward, shooter, top 6, under 30yr old FA is I would target next yr. Keep the faith. Commit to the Indian.
Question for Mailbag: Experts have power forward type Porter Martone as top 5 prospect drafted by Hawks based on need. What is your evaluation of his play at WJC?
Bedard, Hall, 3rd (2026) for Pettersson, Willander, 1st (2025), 1st (2026). Edit: Hall is unlikely to re-sign and his contract expires after the season, so he will be moved at the deadline anyway. While Willander is the true top pairing RD they needed after they signed Seth Jones to that crazy contract- and he failed to produce. Although, I’m sure Vancouver would be willing to take on a bad contract like Murphy (Or even Jones if he was willing to waive) to get a deal done.
This org has been blowing smoke up asses for over a decade. Looks like the guys playing here don't want to play here. Like the entire team shows up to get dressed coz that gets you a paycheck. Dont have to do much beyond that. Watching all these FA spit in Kyle's face is eye opening
Maroon, Martinez, Smith are playing just to get picked up at trade deadline. Donato wants to be here and is playing like he wants a new contract. Kurachev and AA are just not good enough. Hall may be resigned next year at 2 yr for 2.5 or 3 mil max. GMKD was looking for FA that would be cheap and short term for 2024/25. Bert/Teuvo being exceptions. Bert is producing/ Teuvo gets alot of criticism but he is 2nd on this bad team in points behind Bedard.
@@isaacguerrero8873 One thing about Teuvo's 25 points --- 9 have come in 3 games. He has 16 points in the other 38 games he's played this season. Not good enough at all
-******** I would not mind moves to take the Hawks in a different direction. Speed along with size is a priority. We need D that can carry the puck and pass tape to tape. Our puck possesion stinks. Getting through the neutral zone with speed. Teaching the forwards to either carry the puck in successfully or passing direct to the other forwards, but if neither are there, make the decision to dump the puck while the forwards are moving toward the blue line. This is elementary to the game, but is lacking with the Hawks. I would give up Jones, Nolan Alan, Dickinson and the TOR1st round pick for Petterson.
You make really good points as far as puck possession. To piggy back and add to your comment. Other than Reichel and sometimes Bedard or Nazar, Way way too many times we get red line, dump puck, goalie stops puck to their d- men and we give up possession free. Reichel, Nazar get the puck in O-zone off the rush but then more times than not elect not to shoot when they have the opportunity, but dish puck to wingers where we lose can lose possession again. Wish we had more players that skate the puck in off the rush, get off a quality shot and crash net for rebound. Or carry puck in deep, then go low to high to the point, then get a shot off, then crash net. Love Dickensons overall game but his propensity to fight hard in d-zone to get puck out, get to red line, then dump puck and giveaway possession is killing us. He’s not the only one. Bert, Hall, Teuvo do same thing. Safe play to make but it’s a huge reason Hawks are one of worst teams in shot attempts, shots on goal, and goals scored in league. We do OK on PP, why?….cause we can get puck into the O-Zone with possession better vs 5v5.
@@isaacguerrero8873 I agree. And too many times defense make hard passes down the boards that go for icinng. I always look to see if the defensemen had time to find another play when they do that. Too often, they had plenty of time or room to skate or find a better play. It will take until we have real leadership amongst the young guys and shed the older guys before this will change. The young defense have to grow into their game and not feel like they cannot make a mistake. I think the presence of the older guys may be making them defer from trying to make their own play. Alex Vlassic is an exception. He has grown and makes plays. I like Kaisers game too. I do not like Nolan Allan's game because he is 5th or 5th D. More of a steady D guy and not one to carry the puck. Why can't our D keep the puck from bouncing over their sticks at the blue line. Bedard also gives up the puck too much.
Wouldn't have to trade for these guys if kyle drafted best players available. All these picks and nobody projects higher than 2nd line. Prospect pool of middling scrubs isn't gonna excite any team to trade with the hawks. Coulda had eiserman, demidov, peraullt and augustine...but now nick lardis is our best offensive prospect? A 3rd rounder
I totally agree and he dropped the ball allowing the Sharks to grab Askarov (who is going to be a stud goalie for years to come) and didn’t want to take a flyer on Kaliyev on waivers from the kings which wouldn’t have cost a thing.
@robertjames5199 the gms and the most recent players have been blowing smoke up all our asses for too long. Kyle was taught how to be a big brain gm by a guy who sucked at his job. You ever see interviews with Mike donaghe? Head scout? Most arrogant know it all dork ive ever listened to.
You do understand that nearly all draft choices take several years to make it to the NHL? This was Davidson's what, third draft? And some of his picks are coming up now. I'll agree that he has made some questionable decisions on drafting goalies, but tgere are a lot of teams with the best goalie in the league that never won a cup. Meanwhile they have Solderbloom who seems to have put it together this year, and Commesso who they have confidence in. And there are rumours of a Broissoit, but I think its an urban legend.
@fubartotale3389 yup. Levshunov is possibly 5 years away from making an impact. Maybe 3. Commesso? Same timeline I knew it was going to be 10 years for it all to come together. But that was if the gm was drafting the "best" players available. Kyle absolutely didn't draft the best guys available. That's my opinion and everybody elses that kinda understands hockey
@windycityblackhawks What plan is that? Build no talent around Connor Bedard and risk losing him to another team due to frustration? He plays more defense than offense and gets double teamed. Let's instead get Connor players no other team wants. Great plan! Yeah, good luck with that pal.
@@sil2171 I have no idea where this 'Bedard will want to play for another team out of frustration' narrative came about. Just totally fabricated. I'm sure Bedard is pissed about the losing, but he's 1 and a half years into a full rebuild. Not like he's being blindsided but the lack of success here...
@LockedOnBlackhawks I never said he was leaving, I said you risk losing a player of that caliber due to frustration and LACK of help! Give it time, especially if your boyfriend KD keeps grilling nothing burgers. Whether you like it or not, the fact remains that Kyle Davison has done NOTHING to surround Connor with suitable scoring talent. It's not like the blackhawks are hurting for money, either. The Hawks are dead last in the NHL as of today. That's a step back from last year. You are obviously not watching the games.

Freeing the team of Seth Jones and getting anything more than a sack of pucks out of it would be a dream trade for the hawks
Lmao I'm a Jones defender and this made me laugh
have a hard time believing any NHL player with any degree of control over where they are moved would be willing to join this dumpster fire.

Hey I'm not the one that said the Hawks should be all over this! That would be Mr. Elliotte Friedman
