I literally laughed when you said you appreciate the time we took to watch this, no my friend WE appreciate the time you take to MAKE them! These are simply amazing! Keep up the great work!!!
I find myself perusing through dozens of UA-cam videos every night and every time I always end up on your channel. You are a bastion of knowledge and manage to engage/entertain concurrently, a rare combination of traits. Very informative. Thanks!
+pocket83 I know nothing about woodworking and don't take enough interest in it to start, but I love watching you think about how to build and your ideas. Aesthetically the videos are great too. Keep it up!
Pretty darn cool, Pocket. I really love everything you do, the style in which you do it, and the all-around cleverness your present to us with every video. You inspire me. Thank you for all you do.
I especially recommend that one too...it's in my top 3 favourite! Once again, great job! This looks like a fun project that when finished looks far more complicated, and if I ever learn the secret to finding extra time, it's one that I'll give a shot at. Thanks again :)
A lot packed in this video is an understatement A duck flew past the saw blade Bob's burgers had bleed over and some ninja work with a leatherman WOW! I am going to watch the build now .
Really love your videos Mr. Pocket. Very relaxing to watch and interesting as well as informative. I'm happy to spend a few minutes (or more) on your channel each day, and maybe someday I'll attempt a project like this :) Keep it up!
You will never go back. I hate having to put on a 10" blade anymore. Check my most recent video on my second channel, because it deals with the subject. Here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/y_epjstBT6c/v-deo.html
It makes sense. The thinner kerf means a smaller cutting surface, so less friction and saw dust. Not to mention leaving more material on your workpiece and more power to your saw. Thanks.
Well Chief, very nice video and tempting project. It's nice how you make geeking out on woodworking and math/geometry seem like a perfectly normal pastime, and I think (and sorta hope) it is kinda contagious... I'm gonna show these videos to my 3.5yr old twins who (especially the girl Yasmine) are currently mesmerized by Jimmy DiResta's fantastic knife-making antics... Maybe they're too young to get the geometry, but I'd think not. It'd be nice if they could grow up thinking geometry comes naturally. OK, thanks again and Keep on trucking ! (from France)
+Sam Lunn One of the things that's impressed me most and made me feel mentally disabled. How'd I never think of that with all my screwing around with copper wire and rubber bands?
Very nice as always pocket. I remember having one of these, they're so fun. Very classy wood choice, too. Also, I need to get myself a swan like that. Not to use, just to have one for amusement's sake.
amazing work. good job. very inspirational how well thought out ur work is and the effort you put into each piece. the end product is always perfect. :))
I'd love to build this but I don't have a table saw. I really need a tab,etc saw but can't afford one. This is the first one of your videos I saw and I liked it. You definitely have a new subscriber.
Did you do the cinematography on this yourself? It is truly great. Very professional. Just about the best. As good as your wood work is, which is awesome, the video production is masterful.
That is very nice of you. Thank you. Yep, I'm all by myself! I hope that you will come back to watch my newest release, because I really held the video to a high standard this time. I should have it out within a week. Lots of tight macro shots, and very deliberately colorful lighting. If you will excuse the pretentiousness: I consider every frame as a composition; the more one becomes accustomed to controlling elements of design, the better one gets at determining the overall mood. I really enjoy doing that, but nobody really pays it much attention, so thanks.
I happen to be a prop maker for local amature video makers and some professionals, short films and such. But, also for major producers like BBC, HBO, PBS, etc. So, I'm in pretty close with professionals who make their living doing video. Some of the things you are doing with your video are even better than what they do as pros (probably because you take your time) and it is obvious to me, you consider the video production and editing to be as much a skill to master as your wood working. That's why I noticed it- Anyway, As a maker myself, I really appreciate your woodworking, too. I'm constantly watching these maker vids to improve my own skills and to pick up new tricks. I've learned quite a bit from your projects. I'm subscribing. so, thanks again.
No. I should make one, though. But I think Steve one and Steve two already have very similarly themed UA-cam videos ( Steves Ramsey and French). Give them a search ;)
I see many of you projects use rubber bands; how long do they usually last before they become worn out, or get dry rotted? Do you ever consider this when starting a project? Thanks for all the great videos!
+R.J. Fuerst Hard to say. The truncated icosahedron upstairs is now a lampshade- and after a year, a few of the bands have popped off, perhaps from the warm bulb. The other one (which is in the basement), still seems reasonably stretchy. I am forced to conclude that, as with most things, environmental conditions determine life expectancy. I do try to consider material limitations as much as is reasonably possible. However, nothing is permanent, and I like to play with toys! I guess I just thought that the rebuild isn't too hard, and I may just come up with a better idea before that time anyhow.
+pocket83 Thanks for well thought out anwser. That is good information to know. I used your truncated icosahedron design for christmas gifts this year, and made 7 of them (took a very long time). I didn't think anything of using rubber bands for construction, but some people did wonder about longevity. As a side note, I would like to let you know that I found a very quick and reliable way of constructing the truncated icosahedron, I used a ballon as an internal structure and put the two halves around it, and once it was done, popped the ballon! Thanks again for the great videos, I always look forward to what you'll show us next.
+R.J. Fuerst I'm sorry, I can't find, read, or reply to your second comment; I have no idea where it went. This g+ based comment system has grown seriously tiresome.
+R.J. Fuerst There it is! It was marked as spam for some reason. I can't believe you made 7! Did you keep the dimensions the same? Maybe you (we) could find some high-end bands, perhaps made of silicone or something? I love that thing. I'm surprised it isn't more popular, but I did see that the 3D printing community has taken an interest in it. Would have been nice if they mentioned me, huh? (I mean, I did scratch my head for quite a bit over that design). Anyhow, thank you for the support, and I would love to see some pics if you took them.
+R.J. Fuerst What about hair bands? I have long hair, so I have handfuls of different lengths, thickness and stretch... most are covered in some type of textile, too.
I've got one of these from a store , except when you fold it out it turns into a man. It uses some half-length and double-length blocks, which makes it an actual puzzle to fold back into a cube.
That is incredible! How long do those rubber bands last? If i decide to make this i think i will have to research rubber to find ones that will last :)
Oooh that is wonderful! thank you for the quick response and good advice, already subscribed, came here today from Peter Brown's mosquito in amber video. You do wonderful work :)
Thanks! It's just a print out (on gloss paper) that was covered with a piece of acrylic glass and set in epoxy. I used a piece of glass to keep it flush while it cured. Oh, and clear packing tape protected both the saw and the logo during install from epoxy excess.
Thanks!
I find your videos hypnotic.
I'm glad. But you should! This one was pretty well scrutinized, and I tried to make it extremely visual. There's a lot packed into this one. Thanks.
+pocket83 I know nothing about woodworking and don't take enough interest in it to start, but I love watching you think about how to build and your ideas. Aesthetically the videos are great too. Keep it up!
i love seeing all the little matching cubes
I love seeing your dexterity with your tools
I always love seeing your videos pocket. The swan caught my off guard and gave me a good laugh. Thank you for all the content you push on here!
The 3:10-3:28 part is so utterly satisfying that I can't even describe it.
It is a joy to watch you create and problem solve!
Pretty darn cool, Pocket.
I really love everything you do, the style in which you do it, and the all-around cleverness your present to us with every video. You inspire me. Thank you for all you do.
Cool 😎 Make. Nice 👍wood pattern.
The cut grooves on each cube make it tougher to solve compared to the one without the cut groove
Those swan push sticks made my day.
Excellent as always, really enjoy trying to figure the mechanics of your piece before you get down to showing it. Thank you for sharing them
Love watching wood work videos especially your channel
I especially recommend that one too...it's in my top 3 favourite! Once again, great job! This looks like a fun project that when finished looks far more complicated, and if I ever learn the secret to finding extra time, it's one that I'll give a shot at.
Thanks again :)
The quality of your videos has really improved lately, it's easy to see the effort you're putting into these. Looking forward to more!
A lot packed in this video is an understatement A duck flew past the saw blade Bob's burgers had bleed over and some ninja work with a leatherman WOW! I am going to watch the build now .
Awesome. I saw one of these in a coworker's office and have been thinking all week how to make it. Good timing!
Another excellent video man! As always, thanks for making these!
Thank you ;)
Wonderful! Very well explained and presented :)
Thanks, John ;)
I'm very glad to have you back, your content is very interesting and always fun to watch. Also I love your sense of humor!
Really a great video ! Also loved the Leatherman balisong trick.
I actually couldn't unhear the door sound, damn that game was fun.
just yesterday i was watching matthias wandels take on the snake puzzle, this model is also very interesting! thanks for making this video!
What a gorgeous project and video. My 5 year old son would love one of these
Yes. Just make sure he doesn't over-stretch. Or put it on anything with hair!
+pocket83 Throttling his little brother is more likely, I suppose one benefit of using elastic bands is that they'll snap before any harm is done!
I'm super glad to see you back to your self again! :)
Yeah. It's nice to be out. The food is a lot better. And they said that I can stay unless it starts to happen again.
just started watching your videos love the woodworking and the creativity very good directions as well
very well explained puzzle and love how you did the color combinations too. thanks!
Havent been on this channel in ages its grown a ton!
Really love your videos Mr. Pocket. Very relaxing to watch and interesting as well as informative. I'm happy to spend a few minutes (or more) on your channel each day, and maybe someday I'll attempt a project like this :) Keep it up!
Very creative pocket! Great idea with the ziplock..
I always learn some new trick from your videos, thanks for doing this.
Awesome project. I'm going to play with a 7-1/4" blade on my table saw this afternoon after watching you tear through that mahogany.
You will never go back. I hate having to put on a 10" blade anymore. Check my most recent video on my second channel, because it deals with the subject. Here's the link:

This video was awesome man! Cool project and I could not stop laughing at the 007 train door part!
I too love these vids..I wish I I'd had a mentor to teach me these skills,,,but it is fun watching..
Interesting as always. Enjoy your approach and presentation.
Here I was trying to think of something original to make. Of course you've already made one!!! How silly of me. Great video
OK, I'm a newbie. Just subbed, how could I not? Pertty darn neat little project. You can bet I'll be in my lil shop trying this.
Glad that you worked on that safety mate!
Keep up with the good videos c:
Balisong pliers? Ok, that's pretty rad.
you do great stuff!! i really like how creatively you use your time..
Creative design for the puzzle, but i'm more fascinated about building methods on each step.
Well Chief, very nice video and tempting project.

+Sam Lunn One of the things that's impressed me most and made me feel mentally disabled. How'd I never think of that with all my screwing around with copper wire and rubber bands?
Miles Mc Giver
I'm making the shit out of copper chains when it's an appropriate hour.
Very nice as always pocket. I remember having one of these, they're so fun. Very classy wood choice, too. Also, I need to get myself a swan like that. Not to use, just to have one for amusement's sake.
that butterfly action though!!
Awesome! I really going to try it! Greetings from Mexico
amazing work. good job. very inspirational how well thought out ur work is and the effort you put into each piece. the end product is always perfect. :))
great video as always Mr.Pocket
I'd love to build this but I don't have a table saw. I really need a tab,etc saw but can't afford one.
This is the first one of your videos I saw and I liked it. You definitely have a new subscriber.

Fake haha I did too but because of a more recent video
Great video as always.Nice to see you make some more toys again:D
Great engineering:)
Very cool!
Thank you! Glad you watched.
This was really good, intersting to watch. The mathematics/logic in putting it together is brilliant. Very intersting channel pocket83

Whelp, I'm subscribing. Just watched the list of puzzles, about to watch the rest.
Great. Thanks! I should have a new one out this weekend. Oh, and I have a second channel for the less formal stuff ;)
I gotta make me one of those push sticks!
i like the butterfly knife skills
Another amazing video
You should patient this.. very cool.
Awesome project!!
What is the best alternative to the rubber bands as I could see they'll eventually break?
Marinating the wood in a plastic bag that is the first time I have ever seen that
very good, well done!!!
Don't the rubber bands twist excessively after some playing done with these puzzles? I'm just curious.
Just pull it apart a little, and they straighten out.
Cool, I love the simplicity.
I like that lumber rack, even though it seems simple enough I couldn't get a real good look at it. Do you have a video on it?
No. I should make one, though. But I think Steve one and Steve two already have very similarly themed UA-cam videos ( Steves Ramsey and French). Give them a search ;)
Thank you!
My Leatherman being that loose would drive me nuts. I like a tight pair of pliers.
Wild, Wild Stuff.
Just added this one to my todo list :)
that was nice to watch
Hello Pocket 83
Very nice video and very instructive
Thanks a lot for sharing
I will try to make one like yours in the future with your permission
Thank you, but you do not need my permission! Make as many as you like. I wish you luck.
Wow... Great video! (As always) Great job. Keep it up man!
Great video, keep being awesome.
I enjoyed this. Now I'm very relaxed :D
Awesome Pocket!
I'd love to have one of those.
I may do a giveaway next week.
Mrs. pocket is seriously sick of all the puzzles we have floating around the house.

Man. I wand a pair of balisong plyers haha so cool.
I always wanted to be a magician too!
+Blasto McFasto hehe
+Blasto McFasto hehe
How did you get your multitool to flip like a balisong?
sometimes I wish I hadn't watched all your videos because now I actually have to wait for new ones 😔
I've got one of these from a store , except when you fold it out it turns into a man. It uses some half-length and double-length blocks, which makes it an actual puzzle to fold back into a cube.
Nice work,
That is incredible! How long do those rubber bands last? If i decide to make this i think i will have to research rubber to find ones that will last :)
One of mine just broke, so around a year. If you can find real, actual rubber latex bands, maybe 20 years!
Oooh that is wonderful! thank you for the quick response and good advice, already subscribed, came here today from Peter Brown's mosquito in amber video. You do wonderful work :)
Very nice!
Is this a re-upload? I feel like I've seen this video on one of your channels.
How'd you make the balisong multi Tool?.
Super stuff. Thank you.
Awesome. Theres no way I can build one of those and it breaks my heart that the only ones I can find for sale are tiny.
I feel as if you found a book to infinite secrets and your just feeding us drop by drop.
Awesome!
Great video
awesome!!
very nice
thx! i made one for my kidds! super!
I forgot to mention it on your tablesaw video, but I think its pocket83 logo is a nice touch.
Thanks! It's just a print out (on gloss paper) that was covered with a piece of acrylic glass and set in epoxy. I used a piece of glass to keep it flush while it cured. Oh, and clear packing tape protected both the saw and the logo during install from epoxy excess.
