Nice thorough review, you really know your stuff. You described the 3.5 liter v6 but did not mention the cylinder deactivation system. I know this has been a problem with past Odysseys. Has the system been improved to eliminate engine vibration and spark plug fouling and misfiring?
Great video! I had an Odyssey ten years ago when my kids were little. You can't beat a van for kids in carseats, and that power sliding door for the school drop-off line. I traded it in for a Yukon XL because I just wasn't into the mini van at the time and wanted to drive something bigger and sportier. Vans are great when you are hauling kids, but they definitely have that "uncool" factor. However, now that I'm older, and somewhat wiser, I really see the benefits to a van not only if you are hauling small children. They are super comfortable for all ages, and you can't beat them for long trips. I know my two middle schoolers would love being able to hook-up their X-Box or just being able to watch a movie during a long trip. Plus they could recline in their seats. That deep trunk also makes it easy to transport luggage, backpacks, sport bags etc. Those super large SUVs like Yukons, Suburbans, etc. are so bulky and IMO somewhat awkward to drive and very hard to park. In my ideal situation, I would have a Honda Odyssey parked in my garage for road trips, trips to Costco, when it's my turn to drive the carpool, or when my kids ask me to haul their friends somewhere. When I'm not doing those things, I would drive something else like a Tesla Model Y.
it is a great car, i luv it. but it is really frustrating that Honda does not really listening to its customers and still even in 2023 odyssey and not only odyssey but some other models like accord still does not have awd-option as well pano-rood option, also 360-view cam and also this stupid timing belt is not replaced by chain. its really heart-breaking. i also would recommend if they listen to release special-edition with higher clearance like 2-3 inch and awd with LSD and pano-roof and 360-cam. in this case odyssey would be just number 1. and timing belt must, must be replaced by timing chain or grear.
Can video play movies from a USB stick or sink with a smartphone screen? The 150W AC port is not enough power for a laptop. Should be at least 400W...so that's useless. I want to buy my third Odyssey, but not sure about this 2023 version. Garman is OK, but traffic info is way too late to be helpful. Google maps is much better for routing and traffic avoidance. Is Google maps an app that can be used on the screen if you have a wireless account for the van?
