I dont think it's about having the best friends, but the most real friends. the ones that will sometimes mess up but will eventually apologize and be there for you and support you no matter what. this show doesn't romanticize friendships and makes them unproblematic, it makes them realistic. that's why it's so good.

Excuse me young lady? Was your intention to kill me? CAUSE YOU FREAKING DID! And i bet i'm not alone with this.
It's actually hard to find proper words to do this masterpiece justice, but i'll try. Let me start by saying that seeing this show edited the way you do it, brings a whole new perspective to it. Like i don't know, they just feel so different to all the other skam videos i've seen. They feel fresh. They feel real. You don't stick with the "obvious" clips and quotes, you focus on these tiny little snippets of looks or gestures that usually stay unnoticed. Let's maybe call it "reading between the lines" :'D It feels like discovering this show in a new light everytime. Which is just an amazing experience, with every video of yours.
And i absolutely admire how you're able to tell a story just with clips? Like no sounds i mean? I'd never be able to pull this off :'D But that way the viewer really focuses on the video, on how PERFECT your clip choices always are and how PERFECTLY they go with the lyrics of the song.
You said you're worried cause the s1 part is so long? I actually really love that. I guess the fandom knows s2 & 3 already by heart already xD So going deeper into Eva's story, which is also the perfect start for the video's theme, kinda feels right? I don't really know how to explain it LOL don't mind me, i'm still trying to find words. I'm failing, maybe i should stop haha.
I could point out so many parts that i really liked but i'll just do it the quick way, my fave part is 0:00 - 6:15 *hands down*
Anyway, i never clicked so fast when i saw it in my subbox this morning. From you and then this song, i knew it was going to ruin me. 6 min long, HEAVEN. And yes, i even shed little tears, not even kidding.
Then my first message to Sara this morning "why do i even bother editing" hahah and yes i mean it. Your videos are THAT special. You left me in awe and totally speechless.
Thank you so much for this, and i don't know if i'm ready but i'm impatiently waiting to see more skam projects in my subbox from you in the future.

      I AM SORRY.
oh wow, thank you so much. that's honestly one of the best compliments i could receive. i very much try to be about showing over telling, so i'm glad you picked up on that! and i'm also glad to hear that these videos feel fresh...especially considering how many skam videos there are (and how many i've done myself, i always worry about redundancy).
my worries about s1 feel a bit silly now because i've gotten a lot of positive feedback about it! s1 is my second favorite season so it was nice to explore it more in depth.
AWW. YOU ARE SO SWEET JDKSFL
omg stopp. never say that to me again, you Queen. you inspire me so much so comments from you (and Sara) literally mean the world.
ahh well if that comment isn't the greatest motivation... i do have so many ideas for this show still!
thank you so much for such a beautiful and thoughtfully written comment, i can't really articulate into words much it means to me.

i'm gonna be honest: i have problems with this show. i'm sure everyone has. yet this doesn't stop me from loving it, and especially the characters, immensely. this video made me love it, and them, even more, if that's even possible at this point. it's flawed, and it's real, and it's messy, and it's beautiful, and the way you edited this shows that in such a raw and gorgeous way. i can barely even begin to describe how important and wonderful this video is to me. from the song (which already has such a deep meaning to me), to the quick jumps showing how eva met all the wonderful people in the girl group, to the black screen pauses, to the way you used voiceovers, to the way you fit the scenes with the lyrics, to the way you used the audience pov clips. from the very start to the very finish this was such a masterpiece, and i'm so happy i got to see it.

    • @xLiesForALiar
      @xLiesForALiar  7 років тому +15

most of the shows i watch i find problematic in some way or another, there are always going to be flaws, and sure, skam certainly has its fair share of them. but it's exactly what you said - the characters are well-rounded and interesting and relatable and because of skam's unique format (real-time updates, insta accounts, text messages) it really brings those characters to life and makes you feel like they're an actual part of this world. and in a way, they are. there's a bit of each character, each struggle inside each and every one of us.
i'm so so glad to hear you enjoyed this from start to finish. clocking in at over six minutes, i was certainly worried about being able to maintain interest all the way through. it really means a lot to hear these words from you so just, thank you so much.

How it is that every video you make is completely different from any other tributes I've seen so far? Even the beginning - you didn't focus on summarizing every little fact we know about from the whole series, but just those little snippets of typical Norwegian surrounding, this vibe Eva's season had. And even the way you've chosen the scenes about her, how everything comes into focus, the title, characters introduced in her season, her prime time, with her, how they slowly build up s o m e t h i n g - something meaningful, strong and beautiful, just like her and every other character in this show. And the way you've finished her part - with this specific line, what we needed to learn from her - and began with next part, so sober, toned down and elegant that we knew without specifics who you will show us is something indescribable for me.
I didn't even watch Noora's season and yet, you somehow without focusing on other scenes, much more triggering, have shown their struggles and weird relationship.
The lyrics didn't hit me until Isak's part. This "I climbed the tree to see the world/When the gusts came around to blow me down/I held on as tightly as you held onto me" is absolutely his words and I've felt like crying when I saw how you linked every scene to each other. How his story, his and Even, is about finding yourself in entwined lines of others lives and that we need let ourselves be for someone else.
These parallels didn't prepare me for Sana's part. I laughed a little and yep, there it is, the screen washed away from me. Or my eyes betrayed me.
How you focused especially on her relationship with the world, with her little world and universe, in a way, because of her religion. How her time in the last season feels almost sacred because of her faith. How she is always there for others and yet there's something depriving her from fully connecting with them. Her part (as well as Noora's, I suppose, judging from videos I watched about her) was especially challenging, to not overdone that, to show something fresh and special in her story. And you know what? You absolutely nailed it. The part from 4:52 till 5:10, with those quick parallels, showing her road, how everything collapsed around her and she still came out of it strong and pure is extraordinary. Extraordinary, I tell you. Because then, of course, you've had to totally devastate me and match the ending quote and her underused words about the bus, you've had to. And I noticed that you played Julie at the end, don't think that I didn't!
It's just so overwhelming I had to stop and not let myself think about it for longer than necessary. You make us feel like we are once again starting with them. Like we know nothing and then BAM!, everything in a matter of minutes. I wanted to feel like I'm over it and guess what, I'm still not. But... at the same time... it shows how much of an impact they had on our lives and what we need to learn from them. And maybe it's good to feel that much because it shows that their message got through to us. That we care about each other. Thank you for reminding us of this fact.

with every comment from you i'm rendered completely speechless. and this is no exception.
taking the time to introduce the characters into eva's world was so extremely important to me. each character has had to deal with isolation in some form or another and i think the focus on eva feeling isolated and then being introduced to all these people, these people that will become a family to her, was a way of showing the larger, more omniscient theme of the entire show. so i'm really glad you enjoyed that.
i really thought the lyrics there fit so well for isak's season too.
'how she is always there for others and yet there is something depriving her from fully connecting with them' - yes! this was actually what i was trying to focus on with my introduction to her part. i'm so glad all of this was able to show through the editing.
hahaha oops, yes maybe i did play julie there a little.
skam has always been about people needing people and it's such a seemingly simple concept but something we struggle with somehow, or else we wouldn't need the reminder. making this, i felt that i was really able to reflect on each season, and it feels like, while they're all about different struggles they're also not? in a way? anyway, i'm so so glad you enjoyed this video and just incredibly grateful for such an extraordinary and heartfelt comment. i love how much you are able to discern in your comments, it really makes me feel like i actually succeeded in what i set out to make. thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart

And you taking the time with it is so appreciated bc this song really works with it and you interpreted it so well! the use of the cinematography in this, in between each characters and especially within nooras part! It was so pretty! I Love It so mucH! Oh and sanas part, idk how to explain it but from 4:05 to like 4:30! That juxtaposition of her taking care of her friends and her walking around and them kinda existing without her! with that quote too! So smart! Anyway! It was so beautiful and it made me miss this show like its been years! I adore this! Im sorry this was hard for you to make. It doesnt show at all, its gorgeous!

yet again, i am stunned and shocked and left speechless by one of your videos. although that isn't entirely true, because i could probably talk about this for hours if i didn't stop myself. i think you just managed to make me feel every emotion skam has ever conjured in me in the space of 6 minutes and, not gonna lie, i teared a bit at the end there :')
i will say one thing. i absolutely loved the focus on season 1 (even if that was unintentional?) because it is the most underrated season but is probably the season closest to my heart and the most relatable imo. i always interpreted eva's season as being a story about finding yourself, which is pretty representative of skam in general so i think that the focus on season 1 in this video fit perfectly.
i hope that you never stop making skam videos and i am so looking forward to your new projects :)

Everything in this video perfectly captured the idea behind SKAM. I LOVED that you put so much emphasis on the first season and Eva's season because we can clearly see the beautiful moments that snowballed the rest of the seasons; where it all began. The juxtaposition between Eva's loneliness and the break in the music to the formation of what we now know as the girl squad made me tear up because you really can see how her life really changed, the way the show has changed all of us viewers by filling a hole in our hearts we may not have known existed. I also loved how you brought out the best parts of SKAM, especially their amazing cinematography and highlighted the symbolism in scenes that was so subtle we may have missed it. ALSO, the use of benches at 4:02 to highlight the connection between all the seasons and transition into Sana's part was amazing. And WOW, Sana's part. Her part was really where I started to become emotional because I relate to her character the most, and her story is extremely familiar to me. She is such a caring, CARING person to those she loves and yet remains almost unseen/anonymous to others. Their ignorance of her faith causes an inability for other to connect or understand her properly, and for her, therefore, to understand her place in society. And yet, through the cacphonous chaos of contrasting clips, you show that she remains almost ethereal in the outcome. I am crying legitimate tears right now because reiterated the most important parts of SKAM for me through new eyes, and reminded me the most important lessons to be learned from that show. That love is the most important thing above all, and that over everything else, we need each other. Thank you so much for relieving SKAM for me in a whole new light and an important way. Your editing is truly an art.

    • @xLiesForALiar

it seems that people are really liking the emphasis on season 1! i'm glad that worked out. i was so worried about 'equal representation' but it really did make sense to spend more time fleshing out eva's season at the start, since it is sort of the foundation for the rest of the series.
ahh i'm big on the symbolism. really glad to hear that!
it was really important to me to establish a connection between each part. it was walking parallels for eva-noora, rejection parallels for noora-isak, and then bench scenes for isak-sana.
ahh i'm so glad you used the word 'ethereal' there, it was really what i was going for! the pureness in her heart.
i'm so happy to hear sana's part really resonated with you, it's the part i'm most happy with as well.
this is all so much to take in! i do apologize for this extremely late reply, longer comments take me more time to get to as i want to give as thorough and heartfelt of a reply back as i was given. and it's just been hard to keep up with comments lately. but this truly means so much to me to hear, thank you for such an eloquent and unbelievably gracious comment. it feels like i do not deserve such words. but they mean so much.

Thank you for this video. I’ve been watching skam for quite awhile and the edits, and nothing compares to this. I’m so, so, thankful for skam, it’s got me through so fucking me and shown me that I’m not alone, and teens and experiencing the same as me. Skam has brought a part of me back that I thought I forever lost.
People reading this, if you are struggling with anything I high suggest watching skam, any it doesn’t have to be a specific one. You will most probably relate to it. Even if it’s just one little bit, I’m lost in my mind right now but what skam has taught me is *i will find my place, I will be just as perfect as this is one day, it just takes time* .
And yes skam has flaws and you might not agree with some bits, but everyone has flaws and this series really shows how a lot of teens are feeling, agree with it or not or don’t even like it but this is us. It’s how we feel. We have to deal with this on a daily basis. No ones perfect and everyone has flaws. Even the people you idolise have flaws, Madison Beer, models athletes e.t.c. We all face problems and you *aren’t* alone. So once again thank you so much for this video it shows the happy and the sad moments which is very important.

I'm sad because i always wanted to have friends who love me for who i'm, but in fact, they just need me for homeworks etc. Nobody (except someone) can understand who i'm inside me, and I can't be with my "friends", they're fake.

Awesome!! I have spoken to so many people about a television show from Norway called SKAM!! A story about teen issues, Blistering in its dealings with Islamophobia, Homophobia, SLUT-shaming, feminism, sexual harassment, date rape, eating disorders, and mental illness. Thank you Julie Andem and to ALL THE ACTORS who have made it possible.PEACE!

I knew there was going to be a lot of so-called goodbye videos to SKAM, but yours is the one that I was waiting for. I watched it as soon as you uploaded it, but I didn’t really have the words how to express what you made me feel - and I still don’t, but I can’t keep putting it off either. So this might be a long mess and I am sorry in advance, but when it comes to your editing - and especially with SKAM - it is hard for me to find the right words to use.
Your editing is so unique. It is extremely pleasing to watch - almost like the most satisfying masterpiece in a museum with tiny details that you truly appreciate, because they bring you so much emotion. I’ve told you on so many other occasions that I absolutely love the way you tell stories and I am sorry for repeating myself, but I don’t know how else to put it. It such a cliché, but I think the quote ‘actions speak louder than words’ really resonates with your videos. You are able to make me smile, laugh and even cry without ever using a single quote. Instead, you’re able to do it with your choice of scene, music and sounds that, for some reason, just works perfectly. It is like finding that one story or piece that you never want to end.
Everything about this just makes me stop, which I truly appreciate. I appreciate that I am able to sit down and watch this and just be. I admire how you, with this video and every single other that you’ve made, make me feel and I am forever grateful that you always inspire me and seem to remind me just exactly why I love to work with movies and shows. However, I believe that the reason why you are leaving such an impact on this whole community, is because you are reminding people that they don’t need to use this ‘epic’ scenery to captivate their audience. They don’t need to use grand gestures or famous quotes to create something beautiful. People just need to put their heart and soul into what they love doing and pay attention to the little things.
I honestly quite loved how you put the main focus on season one. Season one is the foundation for the entire show, which I don’t feel like a lot of people truly understand - because it is in season one that we are introduced to the main characters. It is the season in which this small family of five girls meet for the first time and form a bond. The very same bond that ties every single one of the four seasons together. It is the season in which Julie focused on showing how Eva broke out of isolation - the difference between Eva in season one and in season four is absolutely incredible. But so is the difference from the beginning to end of every single one of the girls. And this theme of meeting new people and finding who you truly are is a theme that is so prominent in every season and I think you captured this perfectly. In many ways, season one is the heart and soul of the entire show. It really carries the message that people need people, which becomes more and more evident as we follow along each character in every season.
I loved everything about this video. Every single clip matched the lyrics perfectly, but more than anything it just makes me feel grateful for the show. It has had such a huge impact on so many lives, whether big or small, and editors like you have been able to deliver so many different messages that are all so incredible important and beautiful. It is like you are telling the story from a new angle every single time you post a video and it leaves me without words.
I could point out every single thing I love about this in detail, but I’ve already written a small novel, so I won’t. And yet I’d still like to point out that the scenes between 5:19 and 5:23 just completely took my breath away. It is like a reminder that it is truly over and I got so emotional watching them next to each other. The ending just completely shattered me in the absolute best way.
I just want to say thank you. It’s not a lot, but I don’t know how else to put it. Thank you for making this. Thank you for creating beautiful videos that remind to stop and look around me at all the little things. Thank you for inspiring me in every way - thank you for making me feel so many things all at once. Just thank you. ♥

i firstly want to start off by apologizing to you for replying so late to this comment. i haven't been the best at keeping up with feedback lately, and i would hate for this late reply to be seen as unmindful or thankless of such an incredible comment. i want you to know that, in the days since i've uploaded this video not only have i returned to reread your comment on many occasions but i've shared it with some very close people to me as well because your words have really just moved me so much.
i'm so glad to know that you've enjoyed the sparse use of quotes in this. i have grown increasingly less reliable on quotes and i always worry about how that may affect the impact of my videos. so to know that this video has emotionally resonated with you despite the lack of voice overs is very reassuring.
i completely, completely agree with your comments on season one; how it's the foundation for the show and the themes it introduces - concerning isolation, friendship, and communication - are prevailing through the rest of the series.
i try very hard to bring something new to the table with every video. it's become increasingly difficult, the more i make, but the last thing i'd ever want to be is redundant. so, again, your comment about me 'telling the story from a new angle every time' means so much.
this is a lot. this is absolutely a lot and it's been so overwhelming to take in (in the best way). i really can't articulate in words how much this comment means to me. everything you've said here, how beautifully you articulated your thoughts and how attentive you are to details that i always think only i see, only i feel. but no. it is so encouraging to receive this kind of feedback.
this is one of my favorite comments EVER and i thank you SO MUCH for it. it's comments like these that remind me how truly grateful i am for this community of people. it is such a blessing, and feels undeserved at times. i'm just so moved by kindness like this, so from the bottom of my heart - takk for alt.

So it's been 12 days since you uploaded this, and I have watched this vid every single day (often more than once) since you uploaded it, and yet I am still struggling to conjure the words to capture how deeply this vid affected me. As you know, I’ve messaged you at several points since you uploaded this to gush about it, but I decided it was time I finally sat down and tried to gather all of the thoughts I have about this wonderful, brilliant, emotional, insightful, beautiful tribute to Skam. I’m about to ramble (and cry), so pls prepare yourself.
I loved the way you opened this, with the establishing shots of the houses and then the transition into the ambient sound while Eva is on the bus. I am always so in love with the way you use sound, and particularly ambient sound, in your videos. It just adds to the whole naturalistic tone of your editing, and really speaks to the realism and tone and style of the show in general.
One thing that I couldn’t stop thinking about, particularly at the beginning of the video but also throughout the video more generally, is that home is about a feeling or a person and not about a place. I love how you conveyed this initially in Eva’s part, where we get a real sense of the loneliness and isolation that she felt (in her *house*!!!!) at the beginning of season one. In the clips you selected to open the video she is so often the sole occupant of the frame and she’s completely alone and there’s such a stillness to the footage and it creates this very real sense of how overwhelmingly lonely and isolated she felt... And then seeing these moments suddenly shift away when you begin to introduce all of the characters we have all come to love so dearly and the music comes to life and all of the movements and sounds within the clips you’re using begin to pick up and you can see so clearly how Eva’s loneliness so suddenly faded away and it was just so poignant. It was just such a pleasure to watch you so skilfully and subtly create that transition within the vid, watching Eva find happiness and a home with her friends after feeling alone for so long. And then the way you combined all of the different clips of Eva, the girls, Jonas and Isak spending time together and looking after and nurturing and loving one another and Eva no longer occupies each frame by herself until the later moments when you explore her breakup with Jonas. This whole segment just made me feel so emotional. It was such a wonderful way to capture her storyline during S1. I know you had your doubts about focusing on S1 for so much of the video, but I think you couldn’t have possibly made a better choice in doing so. Eva’s season, after all, lays the foundation for the entire show.
I also absolutely loved the way you transitioned from one character’s segment to the next in this. The use of “and move on” to progress forward to Noora’s story, followed by some of the really beautiful establishing shots for Noora’s story, and then the use of the bench parallels later.... so perfect.
I really loved the way you only used a select few clips from Noora’s story, and particularly the way you combined a lot of the outdoor sequences. It was so minimalistic but so, so beautiful. And Isak’s segment!!!!! I climb a tree to see the world!!!!! Held on as tightly as you held on to me!!!!! Honestly, this moment has had me sobbing on several occasions. Such a beautiful way to get to the very core of Isak’s story, with the way Isak and Even found one another and helped each other overcome so many of the battles they were fighting. And then Sana’s segment!!!! I absolutely loved the selection of voiceovers you used to open her segment, and the way you intertwined all of the different characters introduced in Eva’s segment again in the introduction of Sana’s segment - especially given how these people didn’t always feel like home to Sana in the way they did to Eva. And then we watch Sana figure out how to feel like these people are “home” again after so many of the obstacles she had to overcome during S4. Also, the sequence of Sana looking after Elias and Vilde? I wept. She gives so much. I also cannot tell you how much I loved the way you used the parallels of Sana walking as the strings increased between 4:53 and 4:58. And then all of the different scenes that you cut between during 4:58 and 5:14 culminating in the iconic sequence of Sana dressed all in white... were you trying to kill me? Because you very nearly did.
And as for the final sequence. I am at a loss for words.
What a beautiful way to summarise the very essence of this show and all of the lessons it sought to teach us about the power and importance of empathy and compassion and friendship and love. These characters and their stories, and this show and its fans, have become a home for so many of us, and I cannot begin to thank you enough for making this truly incredible tribute to Skam. You have given so much to this fandom with all of your wonderful talent and creativity showcased throughout your vids, and you’ve played a crucial role in it feeling like a home for me.
    Takk for alt.

hello, i am here to finally attempt to reply to this... absolutely amazing comment.
the first time i read it i was completely shaken to my core (if it wasn't obvious from my tweet). i'll start off by saying this is hands down one of the best comments i've ever received.
when i first uploaded this video (hell, throughout the whole process) i was having doubts, insecurities. but i've since been blown away by the reception this video has received. and comments like yours have really helped me to feel more proud of this video. so i thank you for that.
the compliment about my sound editing was really nice to hear, because i've really been enjoying experimenting with sound more and it's validating to hear that you're enjoying it as well!
yes, i agree, home is a feeling, a sense of belonging, a sense of identity. struggles that all of our characters have had to deal with.
i'm so glad you liked the segment of eva ~meeting~ everyone... i reworked that segment so many times because it's the turning point in the video for me. i wanted it to feel important but also organic, natural.
despite my doubts, i really did enjoy spending so much time on season one and exploring eva more... she's one of my favorite characters.
i have to say, i find season two to be the most aesthetically pleasing to edit. something about the way it's shot and colored....i wanted to spend more time on noora's season but, having spent so much time on eva, there were strictly placed beats where i knew i needed to transition to the next part.
"held on as tightly as you held onto me" is one of my favorite lines in the song and editing that segment was the point in which i actually started crying myself (i'm pretty sure i was emoting to you about it at like 2 am) but... i am definitely most proud of sana's segment. having not made the second sana video that i had been wanting to for a while (and at this point, not feeling sure i even would) i felt a sort.... almost duty to really do her justice. the way sana cares for and shelters those around her just fucks me up so much. i'll never be over that season one scene with vilde.
i was initially unsure about ending the culmination of her segment on the "dressed in white" sana clip. i wondered if maybe it would be more appropriate to end on a s4 clip. but there's something about that moment..... it's just so, like ethereal? there's such a pureness in it. and it allowed a sort of full circle return to season one. so i'm really glad you liked the use of that shot.... especially because you FUCK ME UP every time you use it yourself..... anyway, i really can't explain to you how much all of your words mean to me. i was smiling ear to ear reading this the first time.
long comments still just, fuck me up so much because i really never got them all that much until recently. and when it's a comment from you, it's even worse. because it feels so extremely validating coming from you. thank you for this absolutely beautiful and touching and just... incredibly insightful comment. i have to say, you as well have been a huge part of making this fandom feel like a home to me. i will always feel grateful to skam for having allowed me to meet you.

i honestly don't even know how to thank you for such an wonderful comment.. and i just want to apologize for replying so late, keeping up with comments has been a bit difficult as of late. but just, thank you so much. it truly means a lot to hear this.

Are you ready? Cause I'm not.
I love how you've opened this up with the premise (considering the song) of Eva not knowing what her home is or where home is for her to start with (which I feel was a lot of season 1's focus).
And then the music picks up and you get all those hellos from the other characters coming into her life and I love how you incorporated the sounds there as well, as if all the senses are being awakened for her. And everyone getting closer and then you have the distance growing again with the "until you disappear" and just how it all slowly falls apart for her again because of Jonas and because of her reluctance to open up to people as much due to past mistakes.
I love how you then bring in the other mains and oh god that shot of Isak in the elevator with the "i climb a tree to see the world" is so CLEVER i am DONE and then the 'gust came around to blow me down' and with him realising Even is not there and then the cut to them together "held on as tightly' god your lyrical interpretation is just AMAZING.
The shots of the benches with every piano note DAMN
Oh god the way you cut the clips of Sana at her most alone with her carrying Vilde with the girls CUT ME DEEP and then how you showed the moments where she finds her home with all her friends with those lyrics again "i build a home, for you, for me" an then she loses it all again, GOD WHAT IS THIS EMOTIONAL ROLLERCOASTER I DID NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS
THE SHOT OF THE HARSE BLOOD ON HER HANDS FOLLOWED BY THE GENTLE PASSING OF THE CARROT IN HER HANDS GOOD LORD
and all those fast cuts with the building crescendo of the music going from joy to sadness in such a short space of time it truly left me reeling.
I love how you brought it all back down with all those shots of empty spaces that have signs of life in them still
and then that voiceover at the end with all the shots of the times they have needed and come for each other and how they have always tried and succeeded to overcome the hate and fear they encountered, and that last shot is perfection.
This is just another masterpiece from you, this song is so epic and I can only imagine how much thought you put into this to give it, and the show, the justice it deserves and of course, as always, you succeeded. Thank you once again for making a video that stands out from the rest because of your editing, your focus on the small moments in amongst the big moments and the focus on what makes this show, truly different from other shows

NO, I WAS NOT READY. which is why it's taken me like 2 weeks to reply to this.
i'm really glad you enjoyed my use of sound in this! it was really important to me to establish how isolated she felt (as a representation not only of her own social isolation but the idea of isolation as a prevailing theme in the show) before introducing the other characters and whatnot.
omg i was so excited for isak's part because yes!! the lyrics!! they're so perfect for his story imo.
i'm glad you liked the part with the benches as well! i really struggled with how to organically flow isak's part into sana's and then i realized the bench scenes feel like an almost 'passing of the torch' and would work well.
gahhh you always pick up on all the little details! it's so amazing to read, such a pleasure. sana's part is definitely my favorite, i have some insecurities about this video but i'm actually really happy with her section. it was very emotional to vid.
i just love those empty quiet shots in skam. i felt that the 'trash scenery' would be a good way to symbolize the sort of, calm after the storm, you know?
ahh faayza, i really don't know what else to say to all of this. you never fail to utterly floor me with your comments and i apologize that this reply is so late, but i find that sometimes it takes me time to really collect myself and my thoughts in order to give a worthy reply. i'm just so happy to know you enjoyed this video, it was definitely an ambitious effort and i wasn't sure how well my concept would transfer visually. the feedback has been honestly, incredibly validating and overwhelming (in the good way). thank you so much again, i don't really need to say this anymore, but it means a lot.

wow this was good, i usually cant last past 2 minutes in fan vids but the way you edited it was so great. i loved the black pauses, i loved the fades, i loved the shots you chose, the coloring, and also of course the way you edited it in order of the featured characters, it was really well done. Plus, loving the song helped. :) So happy to get into skam even if it was in the last few days of the show haha.

This video is truly and totally amazing! I loved every single bit of it, and the fact that I get to revisit SKAM in this way makes me feel so privileged.
As someone else commented, it's weird to watch a masterpiece like this without paying anything for it.
If the internet and/or UA-cam didn't exist, my life would be so much more boring, but thank god that they do, so my life can get enriched by pearls like this.
    Thank you very much xLiesForALiar!
