Ucc అజెండా అంశాలలో బయట పెట్టండి. Ucc లో ఏ విధమైన అంశాలు ఉన్నాయో ప్రజల ముందు చర్చకు పెట్టి ucc చట్టం చేయాలి. రిజర్వేషన్, కులాంతర వివాహం, అట్రాసిటీ, మత స్వేచ్చ అన్ని రకాల అంశాల పట్ల చర్చ జరగాలి.

People say UCC applies to personal issues like marriage, property etc that there should be one law for all on these issues. Also Modi says all Indians are one family. If all Indians are one family then why there is discrimination when it comes to marriage itself. Forget about Hindus marrying Muslims but Hindus of one caste do not marry a Hindu from another caste. If one does not marry a person of another religion it is understandable because their God/gods are different but why this discrimination within one religion(Hinduism) itself? Aren't SC, ST or even MBCs the Hindus? Are they not equal brothers and sisters of say of the Brahmins or Kshatriyas? Ok forget about upper castes why even the OBCs don't marry people from these Hindu communities - SC/ST/MBCs? Those who want to reform the Muslim marriage system can they reform first the Hindu marriage system which shows utter discrimination in the world?
This is very crucial because how can a person who follows utter caste discrimination at the personal and social level be so non- discriminatory in the discharge of their duties in the public or private offices? Don't they favor the people of their own caste while discharging their duties as politicians( law makers), civil servants (law executers) and judges (law upholders)? What a hypocrisy this nation is playing? One code for the Hindu marriages but another code for Muslim marriages? Ok let us agree that Muslim personal law violates constitution principles of liberty, equality and justice for women but then doesn't Hindu caste system violate liberty, equality and justice for all Hindus but not treating all of them as equals? If not why people from one caste cannot or do not marry another? Which Hindu personal law says that and Is such a Hindu personal law justified or does it honor the constitutional principles of liberty, equality, fraternity and social and economic justice?
Is there is any honest person in India who can answer my question or Is there atleast one Indian who can say confidently that he follows caste discrimination only at the personal level but not at the office level - public or private? Shame on these hypocritical Hindu Indians who are bent upon targeting other religions without reforming their own systems. I wonder if these Hindus who are frustrated against the British for reforming Hindus religion by banning Sati system, permitting women education, widow remarriages, educating BC/SC/STs and giving jobs to them and thus paving way for the removal of untouchability and Manu dharma from India are now showing their frustration against the Muslims or other minorities?
Those racist white people are now so reformed to make a person of Indian origin as their PM or a Black as their President but where does these castiest Hindus stand in their treatment of SC/STs or even BCs when it comes to their social status or social treatment even after 75 years of Independence? Don't forget that the present ST president was not even invited for the inauguration of the new parliament building. I wonder if this Hindu government would have treated the same way with the President of India if Mr.Pranab Mukherjee or Babu Rajendra Prasad or Shankar Dayal Sharma or APJ Abdul Kalams were the Presidents? The origins of Sati is quite debated. Sati is not mentioned in ancient scriptures like the Valmiki Ramayana and Vedas say the widow is often brought back to home. The later epic of Mahabharata has a couple of instances of women committing suicide - but these stem more from guilt/extreme sorrow [such as in the case of Madri who grieved the death of her husband Pandu who died during sex] than any actual force. Pandu's other widow Kunti lived fine as a widow as did many in Hastinapura.
As a further proof to how a forced widow burning didn't exist in ancient Hinduism, one can see that Buddha and Mahavira didn't mention anything at all of this practice & none of the ancient Buddhist/Jain scriptures mention this. If Buddha talked so eloquently about killing of animals, how could he and others could have missed forced killing of women, if it did happen? Same with Adi Sankara and other reformers. Thus, even while is probably existed, it was not rampant.
Now, the question is when it came and why. To get there, we need to understand where Sati is rampant.

1 Famines in India
Mass starvation was a regular feature of life in India under British rule. The last ‘famine’ that was inflicted on India was in 1943 when over four million people died in Bengal. The British Army took millions of tons of rice from starving people to ship to the Middle East - where it wasn’t even needed.
