Filipina mother in law had an internet cafe (about 12 years ago) and yeah, it was mostly kids playing games on the desktops she had in there. It was quite a popular business for the locals. Liked seeing the commercial area after the alley. Nice of the girls to show you around. Thanks Derek...Jim

Turns out my girlfriend was glad you did this video as she lived in that neighborhood for 9 years 2000-2009 before returning to her Hometown of Dumaguete. Best thing is to have a Filipina escort you around as they know the best places the locals go; as you'll find the best food or deals unlike the USA where google has all the info there it is by experience. You could easily fill the neighboring Basketball court if you sponsored a "Karaoke Contest" with prizes or like the Gym down the street better then Calvin's weekly raffle. And it could be nice for your Son to meet the Neighborhood and all the pretty girls.

Are these young lady's English skills typical of most of the younger generations? Are 30 year olds and 40 year olds English as good, or has the schools been stepping up the English programs?

Most Filipinos are proficient in English as it is taught in school. My observation (opinion) is the ladies are more social and less reluctant to converse. Their male counterparts seem to inherit responsibilities at a very young age and less social, hence less practice. The elders are more limited due to lack of access to education and, perhaps, lack of practice.
