Only by listening until I came to the last 5 minutes or so of this teaching am I able to find what seems to be the essence of the lesson. The best way I see to understand it is to recognize yet another spiritual paradox in that while I must do things in order to keep body and soul together, in a deeper sense, I must detach from outcomes even as I pursue outcomes. Otherwise, the only way to follow this lesson is to lay down right where I am and do nothing until I die of dehydration a few days from now. I would certainly not proceed to the next lesson in this course. In this world of matter, there are things that I must do in order to continue being. But even as I do things, I will try to return to presence of being each time I realize that I have been lost in the habit of thinking. This is the best I can do right now. At the risk of projecting, I will plan on listening to the next lesson and doing the exercise when the time comes. That kind of planning is just common sense.
“True happiness doesn’t come and go. True happiness is a constant state”. DH. I love you for being such a clear demonstration of this, David. Thank you sweet brother 🙏💗
David, don’t you think we can do our basic doings without an agenda? Even if we still feel emotions that aren’t perfect, consistently? Yet they point us to what we still could forgive? Because I know God IS. But I still do things. I think we have an opportunity to do the doings with the lessons in our mind. With kindness. And we learn a lot that way. I know I do. But maybe you’re speaking of what I don’t understand yet. Which is fine. Love you, too.
