- This is not only a beautiful place, but also a general movie set, seen in many movies, including the Last Samurai. This is the Engyoji temple on Mount Shosha, just a little bit of bus ride away from the Himeji castle.

Can private car go up in engyoji temple?
I saw cars of the locals there so might be, not sure if you need special arrangements to get your car up. But even if you can't, you can take the rope way carts up, and from the station there is bus service, most old people or those with disabilities did that
