  • This Twinjet is powered by a turbine jet engine. This is a foam model without any extra supports. So it is the standard model, except for the jet engine. During the low passes the pilot only gives 25% thrust, otherwise the wing deforms and the model becomes uncontrollable.
I filmed this during our trip to Austria with our RC Flying Club "The Flying Dutchman". We were visiting the MFC Gastein at their home field.
We want to thank the pilot and the club for their kindness and hospitality.

Take a small light thing, add a powerful motor, giggle.

is it necessary to do a running handlaunch? As much power that thing puts out? Breathtaking flight!!!!

Nice clip! A Kolibri Twinjet is really not easy to catch with the camera - good job!
I apologize, but I think the given information is not quite correct. I'm pretty sure the turbine is a (however very well performing!) 1st generation Lambert T-15. so, as the Twinjet with his thick airfoil is a more or less "slow" flying jet, the fast passes most probably are with full thottle. The smallest Lambert T-15 (actually Martin Lambert provides a T-35 at same size !!!) is not a problem for the original, un-reinforced Twinjet.
A well running T-15 produces about 17N thrust @ max. RPM of 243.000 (not 360.000!). ) which pushes the Twinjet to a max. Speed of about 250 km/h. My (cfk-reinforced Twinjet (see: avatar and my channel) with a Lambert T-25 is not much faster; maybe about 300 km/h, however he has almost got twice as much of thrust (28N). To get even faster, one would need a smaller airframe like a Funjet (360 km/h) or a Bajojet (400 km/h) instead.
Nevertheless the pilot is very well doing! With my Twinjet I don't dare to fly that fast at this low level! Respect ! :-)
