GG, nice work finishing base game StarCraft campaigns. I think now I know why this last mission was so easy for me anytime I played it - I always went mass air while enemy factions seem to have like 100 supply of Ultralisks, each. Kind of hard to stop combined might of ~20 BCs and ~60 Scouts with like 20 Scourge and 20 spread-out Hydras and Mutas lol.
Makes sens. Going against air should probably be the best option. I don't know how many archons I lost there, but I'm pretty sure the AI had a better trade of units. ^_^
@@kage-rts I really like the SC1 Ultralisk attack sound, much better than SC2 one. Feels like there is a weight behind it and was even a bit scary when I was a kid.
All of SC1 sounds are a bit more grime, and have a bigger impact on the player then in SC2. When I was a kid I didn't like the zerg, because how sinister they sounded.
3:50 Yeah, I'd assume most players went with mass BC/Carrier strat here, since it's basically unbeatable once critical mass is reached, easy to control and not many missions allow for capital ships, less so 2 at the same time. Probably why this mission is easy - BCs alone can easily crush enemy Zerg, more so with Protoss support.
I think that's how I beat it as well previously. Since I wasn't really trying to go for the obvious option, it made things a little bit complicated. :)
@@kage-rts I recently beat it with both BC/Scout and BC/Carrier. BCs are so powerful that it barely matters what their support is, Zerg has no counters aside from some really well -places Plagues, but you can usually destroy a couple of bases before Plague deals it's full damage lol.
@@kage-rts Yeah sometimes when your army gets plagued the best solution is to keep pushing instead of falling back. Since it takes a while to build up damage it's best to make the most use of your units while they still have most of their HP left.

As much as I love the comment, I still can't figure out what you're referring too.
@@kage-rts you wlll probably realize what I meant in Brood War.
disruption web?
@@kage-rts No. Good try though.
27:28 Weakest.. plague.. ever.
Like archons even care about plague lol. With their measly 10 HP.
32:53 Marines and Goliaths vs a bunch of Ultras - round 1 fight. Betting market - 99% win chance for Ultras.
Chop chop, no more army... :)

I haven't really thought about plague since in the terran campaign I don't think zerg ever used plague. But still makes sense, they have a lot of HP.
