I highly appreciate your honest review of this shoe. I've been skating for 20 years and I was hyped when they brought these back. I remember the original Accels had great board feel and they were super comfy. I remember the insole just molded to the shape of my foot after a little while. So I thought, "awesome, a slim version of those great comfy shoes!" Then I got them and put them on and was like WHAT THE FUCK HAVE THEY DONE TO THESE SHOES? There is ZERO cushioning on the heel. They literally hurt my feet just to walk in. All they have for an insole is this cheap 1 millimeter thick foam that's glued to the sole. How in the world do they expect skaters to skate in something with such little protection?? I've always hated Vans because how uncomfy their shoes are to me and I'd seriously rather skate in Vans slip ons than these new Accels. I don't understand why they didn't say, "hey, maybe we should put an actual insole in these shoes on top of that thin foam." but no, they didn't. They have some eS insoles that you can buy from their website separately and I think that explains it all right there. They wanted to sell a shoe without insoles for the same price as their original shoes and then make you have to buy insoles separately for an extra 15 bucks. And then they wonder why companies like Nike and Adidas have taken over the industry? This shoe is a MASSIVE downgrade to the shoes they use to make in their heyday. Come on 'eS, get back your mojo. I WANT to support your company but only if you're making quality footwear like you use to make!
I bought these shoes a week and a half ago and already don’t like them. They’re uncomfortable as hell. My local skate shop only had these and a few Lakai’s. The Lakai’s weren’t my size which is why I didn’t get them so instead I got these. They felt fine while in the shop when I tried them on but after a few days of wearing them whole and just walking they’re really uncomfortable. You feel everything! My feet are in intense pain when skating in these. Definitely not getting back on the board until I get some better shoes.
@g0rilla. coupe Honestly, straight out the box the Nyjah Free 2s and the Etnies Joslins are fine when it comes to impact protection. Maybe not >16 stairs fine, but for street skating they protect plentiful. Some people also like the Vans with their UltraCush HD or PopCush insoles. But personally I don't think those are great at all, most notably because they really only protect the underside of your heel, but are so flimsy from the mid of the foot to the toes, there might as well be no insole at all. I just got the Kyle Walker Pro 2s and landed a few times in primo and can not say these shoes are protecting well. In terms of max protection I _love_ the eS Accel OGs with FP insoles. But in terms of flick accuracy and feel, the OGs are a bit puffy. It's an acquired taste, but if impact protection or overall protection is a concern, I'd get the eS Accel OG instead. Or maybe something like the eS Silos or eS Schemes. Those are pretty decent skate shoes as well. But less durable from what I hear.
"And then they wonder why companies like Nike and Adidas have taken over the industry?" To be fair though, none of their skate shoes are without serious flaws.... In case of Nike there are serious sizing issues. In case of Adidas it is very hit or miss in terms of durability and comfortability. Both brands have shoes that are too narrow for my medium to wider feet, which kind of sucks. I actually like Nike SB Nyjah Free 2s, but I definitely couldn't skate them all the time.
1:26 I have the Accel Slims, and yeah, from a cupsole shoe I definitely expected them to be a little bit thicker and supportive, but no.There is literally nothing there. The midsole is so thin that you could feel every single rock on the ground. My feet hurt from just walking around. Couldn't imagine stepping on broken glass or something. But you have loads and loads of boardfeel. For now I'll stick to my Maranas until I wear them out. Then I'll switch to the Accel Slims, but I'll probably need to throw in some aftermarket insoles in there. Otherwise the flick is really really good, don't know what Christian is on about. They also look quite good imo. I have the all brown colorway. The material behind the heel wears down a bit too quickly and you have exposed plastic that rubs the back of your foot which isn't particularly nice. But overall I like the shoes, if only they were just a tiny bit thicker.
The Sal 23s have the same issue with the sole being very weak and get floppy fast. Es needs to buff up their future shoes for sure. I hardly skated my Sals and they flattened out and got floppy to the point where it was uncomfortable to walk in them after only like 3 months or so. Haven't experienced that with any other skate shoe. The ultra thin skate shoe trend needs to stop. I'm sure it's cheaper for companies to make shoes so thin and that's why they continue to push it. Nice to hear an honest review.
I’ve had multiple accel slims in the past, they are by far my favorite skate shoe. I personally think that the in soul is really good for stair skating and gaps.
I know no one will probably see this, however I just wanted to say that ever since they brought this company back, they literally hollowed out what once used to be the most amazing shoe! The old Accel slims before the company went under had a gel/air bubble built-in to the midsole, a lot more support and a lot more Overall padding while still keeping the slim silhouette. Not trying to say it’s a cash grab on their part, maybe they just thought the new modern skateboarders like a crazy amount of bored feel with no support… But literally to me, my once favorite shoe is now rendered completely un-skateable. I may release a video comparing the old Accel slim with a new just to show proof of what I’m talking about. Either way, buyer beware...this is not the same eS footwear you once loved (super unfortunate/ was my fav company)
I find it interesting you try skating all these different shoes, even though you know that some of the shoes could mess with how you skate. I just started skating a couple weeks ago and I'm already like "I like these shoes so I'll just buy a ton of these". So props to you man.
I like the ones I have. I bought the Tom Asta colorway. So did you skate a cupsole shoe before this? Cause if you didn't than that could explain the way you skate the shoe.
Is there a more padded version, like a non slim? I remember these in the 2000s being pretty crappy for padding but I was hoping they might build on the original design
I have two shoes that I can't find wear test at all on. 1) New Balance Numeric 868 and 2) Diamond Footwear Brandon Biebel's "All Day" (We know you have them)
I'm skating the exact same pair exact same colour and I love them. Just because I've always skated Vulcanised shoes these shoes ease u in to a cup sole giving good heel support. Maybe just not the middle. I honestly think their one of the best shoes I've skated and I've skated a lot of shoes
peter smith thx im size 8.5/9 and some people are buying smaller size of skate shoes because after a week or something like that its getting bigger because of stitching and i dony really know what size exactly buy.. i walkin in 9 and im wondering buying this in 9 that im walking or 8.5 because they may become a little bit bigger. What do you think ?? buy 8.5 or 9 ?
Dumion Cebula it's always hard to predict how there gonna feel buying online. Look in ur local skate shop to see if u can try them on first. But if they don't have em I'd buy it size 9
Do the es swift it's amazing you will thank me and feature this comment in that video because they are great, or you could review the marana Michelin, or like you said, the accels
I tried on a pair of accel og recently , it felt so odd after skating nothing but vulc vans ...in my head the accel is great but now a days . I don't feel they hold up to today's shoes
I never tried those thin ones have some vans but why to thin all shock goes straight to my foot. Es og plus is so good still use a different insole but love them. I think want to try those dc super Swede you talking about though.
I think they're the best shoes.. Personally I think that colour way looks dope on him and doesn't look like a kids shoe to me at all, I also feel like these shoes give a good flick.
Lakai griffin or anything lakai please I've been commenting Lakai's for months but nike and adidas get all the love keep doing more authentic skate shoe brands please
I'm here watching this for some nostalgia, the man Christian got his own channel now and it's going great
No one cares that he got his own channel.

TheRickyp83 woah I was not expecting that lol

Future hint :Do not expect super padding on a shoe that is a SLIMMED down version of the original. The Acel SLIM....
hey ive been watching these shoe review since you first started them i love watching them and would love to see a pair of vans slips

got my slims last year I love them
he should've known, but he got the slims instead of the Og
you dont skate them if you've had them a year.
Adidas Nakel Smith matchcourt High RX?
Oakley Wood @ 3:24
Joma Cruz yeah he's doing them
Thats cause the es accel is best as a big shoe. The padding is perfect. Not so much as a slim.
do the vans gilbert crockett 2
Why do the older ride shoes reviews give more of a detail of the shoe more than the newer reviews /:
he disliked these. he should've gotten the OG's...
Something I should have mentioned, old reviews: 95% shoe details 5% jokes new reviews: 75% jokes and pointless details 25% shoe details
@@mushlove6933 you can even see a difference in video length when looking at the playlist
im glad you did a review on these and gave truthful feedback, saved me some money cause i was about to cop those kelly hart color ways

I like the ones I have. I bought the Tom Asta colorway. So did you skate a cupsole shoe before this? Cause if you didn't than that could explain the way you skate the shoe.
spencer nuzzi and Christian flores are my favorites on ride
Got the red, black, and white ones and I am enjoying them so far. I don’t do stairs so I cannot mention anything on that front.
Bryan G. Are they durable?
Could you review the classic adidas samba?? Not the new ADV that apparently sucks. I think that'd be a cool video
Try the Globe Abyss shoe. $17 on amazon. best skate shoe i've ever owned. definitely worth checking out
Been skating eS since early 2000's
you should have put the console from the kostons that would stiffend them up, even if the insole can't come out just stuff it on top
Is there a more padded version, like a non slim? I remember these in the 2000s being pretty crappy for padding but I was hoping they might build on the original design
you should test those new Clear Weather shoes, with that extra suede
Go with The "OG Accels". More padding for landing and the soles are a dream for flip tricks. Nothing beats the originals.
I have two shoes that I can't find wear test at all on.
1) New Balance Numeric 868
and
2) Diamond Footwear Brandon Biebel's "All Day" (We know you have them)
Watching this in my Accel OG’s
Adidas Matchcourts with the toe cap! Or since you have the Na-Kels the Na-Kel matchcourts.
Honest review.
How about Lakai???
Lol I've never even heard of 'es shoes before. I just love Christian!
finally the shoe reviewer is back...
I know it would probably call for more film sessions and stuff but i miss the initial out of the box reactions before skating the shoe
I feel like you would like the es swifts better
I'm skating the exact same pair exact same colour and I love them. Just because I've always skated Vulcanised shoes these shoes ease u in to a cup sole giving good heel support. Maybe just not the middle. I honestly think their one of the best shoes I've skated and I've skated a lot of shoes
peter smith same
peter smith do they fit true size of your foot number ?? or is it a little bit smaller or bigger ??
For yes I'm size 12 and they fit perfectly. It's a shoe that you'll step in and the sole is like a cloud. I'm now onto my second pair of them
peter smith thx im size 8.5/9 and some people are buying smaller size of skate shoes because after a week or something like that its getting bigger because of stitching and i dony really know what size exactly buy.. i walkin in 9 and im wondering buying this in 9 that im walking or 8.5 because they may become a little bit bigger. Dumion Cebula it's always hard to predict how there gonna feel buying online. Look in ur local skate shop to see if u can try them on first. But if they don't have em I'd buy it size 9
