I'll add to the vouching off these pilots. Just got mine in the states after 2 weeks, and man do they hit a underserved spot in the market. The printing is top notch, and the poses are so unique among pilot figures

Nice video buddy. I actually just got some ReedOak for my 1/32 F-14D. You need RRC320261 and RRC320263 figures for a late D time period. Easy way to tell is that the oxygen hose fits into the center of the mask. The more modern ones, the hose is offset to the left of the mask.

I'm about to get some more from Reedoak, I need an earlier set for my Tamiya F-14A 1/32 (mid 1980's) and for my Trumpeter F-14D....which kit are you tackling? The 1/32 Tomcats are a challenge!

Will definitely be looking into these. There are some 1/32 jets in my future. Tomcat, Japanese Phantom, and German Tornado.

Excellent. A model without figures is like a museum exhibit, lifrless.

Hi Chris, those figures look really nice, I have a pretty fool proof method of painting flesh which involves 1x humbrol and a couple of oil colours I'm hoping to get around to photographing a SBS, over the next couple of week, which may come in useful when you get around to painting them.

    • @beckersmodels
      @beckersmodels  2 роки тому

That sounds very familiar to my method - I spray on Tamiya flesh or SMS paint first and then go to oils, because its so much easier to blend on the fly for me. Would love to see your SBS!

That was incredible your love for what you are doing shines through Chris and it’s so good to watch.
This flying thing is so hard to get the parked mob to understand………. I spent some time watching a massive international show at Telford in England and in some 60 mins that I viewed three yes three were flying!! There was a fantastic black copter and it’s stand was a chrome pole straight up into its belly absolutely amazing! I want to do some of that where the stand isn’t an excuse it’s part of the model.
One thing about Telford and all the parked lot is the the amount of detail one can get into the kit and it made me a little jealous.
Those pilots whilst brilliant in their detail they are so expensive! And of course you can’t print them, the printer you would need would have to be major pro unit to get that level of detail plus not take all weekend to do. Sainsbury’s dont produce all the food they buy it in, what the issue with you doing so? What printer did you get? I just watched the initial use the Humbrol £200 unit and pretty crap, the poor guys voice, he was so let down. I am stuck just don’t know what to do.
Now your excitement is ace however mate it’s just on the good side of not wearing a foil hat! So take care not slip over the edge! Lol
Happy Christmas to all you lot

Gday Bob, thanks yes I'm super happy about these pilots and I agree about Telford - I rarely look at overseas/interstate photos of shows because 99% of the aircraft are wheels down and I end up falling asleep...sometimes....Hope you had a great Xmas, and Happy New Year! Cheers Chris

@@beckersmodels hiya Chris, trust all was and is well with you all? 2023 gonna be great matey!
This stash thing, why? What is it? I have over 33 models in boxes already! I see you knew about the pole/rod thing! Your side exit one is beautiful!
You were so passionate in your last video, you touched me (ohh arr missus!) , I take it you don’t care about the monetisation of your videos? I have always thought you didn’t care. I am looking forward to seeing your output or is it a course?! Gonna need some great camera work, lighting etc high production values full stop I guess?
You are a very interesting man Chris and in finance an’ all………breaking the club rules.!!
      Later matey

@@beckersmodels i get what you mean regarding planes in flight, but I like the added details with wheels down and an open landing gear bay, so a plane coming in for landing or taking off seems the way for me.

To give you an idea of how much 8 months changes things, where your quoting 4 or 5 Euro's per figure, there now around 12 - 15 Euros per figure, making them very expensive optional detail pilots for model kits. That said, thank you for sharing and no arguments on the detail, they look fantastic.

Great review Chris what about the option of making moulds /copies of these fine detailed examples then replicate making them out of fibre glass resin, then take away you don't have the digital file printing or having sculpt from scratch or repurchasing ? or get a scanner , 3d scan these figures and reprint if you have the gear .

  • @SEMJW

Have used several 1/32 Reedoak pilots for the last three years and recommend them as well.
Working on two 1/24 Airfix Mk.IXc Spitfires that will be posed in flight with variable speed electric motors to turn the propellers. Planes will depict a George Beurling and J E Johnson IXc, pre invasion
stripes. Modified two 1/24 plastic figures to fit the seats/controls and managed to alter the faces to look like the two men. Will have the goggles raised and the oxygen masks to one side.
Reedoak has a 1/24 Battle of Britain pilot figure posed in a folding chair awaiting a, 'Scramble' Hopefully they will develop more choices for the Airfix kit.
Chris, I will remind you again that I have taken the time to design a few ideas for your Border Models
Lancaster display. Contact my email and I will send the info.

Hi there, nice comparison. I love 48th scale figures, but after MLB Maquettes closed I'm having problems looking for the same variety of 1/48 guns & rifle weapons they use to make. Is there a place like MLB Maquettes?

    • @beckersmodels

Unfortunately I don't think so, but for simple seats it's easy to scratch build, but I'd definitely look into 3d printing them for modern ejection seats.

Chris, your supposed to let Santa Claus handle some of these pilot packages :-) So that's a lot of pilots, but what awesome detail, 1/144 scale ? That would fit in your ANT.
I'm not sure but I don't think US Navy flies the Blackhawk, but that can be fixed with paint.( I stand corrected, our Navy does fly the Blackhawk, but they call it the Seahawk. Sorry about that- I'm not a Navy kind if guy :-) ) A little different variant like all the Spitfires). I could get stoned but the best thing about the F14, was the fact it was a great model kit to build. Otherwise it was extremely high maintenance, lost compressors and killed a lot of good pilots in flat spins. Osprey, is a dangerous bird but also has combat capability issues in real life but nice looking build out. F35, is the most dangerous aircraft in anybody's inventory - its beyond the IQ of pilots and maintenance personal. And an unstable platform and over priced bit of technology. Sorry mate, I sound like the Grinch of Christmas. Did you see the new 1/35 German U Boat? That's a kit just made for your talents of detail, it's only a portion of the deck with conning tower, deck gun or torpedo loading. It seemed to be calling out " Becker" for sure.. Sorry about the rant, I hate to see the government giveaway tax dollars. Don't forget Penny's Christmas treats. . Do you celebrate Boxing Day down under? Have a great Holiday, Hope you get some build time in . CHEERS FOR NOW.
