I had the privilege of Charlie Daniels actually opening for a band I was in. Being from Jax and growing up with Melody VanZant we were the only band to play at the Ronnie VanZany park and was asked to open the FreeBird Cafe. Well Mr Charlie didn’t wanna be up late so he asked if we would let him open? When one of the Mt Rushmore’s of southern rock ask you for something you do it. So he opened then had a glass of wine and watched our show. One of the absolute coolest moments of my life. He invited us on his bus The Lady LaRue to chat after the show. He gave us his blessing and offered to help anyway possible. 2wks later we broke up after 10yrs together. I was 23. He was one of the most humble humans I’ve ever met. He thanked God for everything.

I've been hooked on BBS since I heard then play RESTLESS on the skynyrd cruise years ago. Seen them play around Cincinnati many time, was at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville North Carolina when they played with ZZ TOP. Shook Richard Turners hand at Grotta Fest in Newport on the levy in Kentucky across the Ohio river. I can't explain in words how great this band makes my spirit fly every time I see or hear them jam! Yes, I'm 65, still holding on, and there a lot more left of me! THANKS GUYS.
I've been listening to Charlie and the guy's constantly since 2014 and ain't never gonna turn it off! Blackberry Smoke is the bees knees!! And a nicer bunch of guys is hard to find. Thank you Charlie, Britt, Richard, Paul, Brandon, Benji and Preston.

I have only recently discovered "Blackberry Smoke" and I am thoroughly digging their jam sessions here on UA-cam. From what I have seen here on UA-cam, they appear to be a class act in every sense of the word!!! Now, please don't get me wrong, I have heard of "Blackberry Smoke" before, albeit not very often, but I have NEVER listened to any of their music, or at least knowingly, anyhow. However, I literally just happened to be introduced to their music just the other day!!! A friend of mine posted a video of "Jesus just left Chicago" and the description on the video is as follows... "Blackberry Smoke with members of Allman Betts band from their 2021 Spirit Of The South Tour performing ZZ Top's "Jesus Left Chicago" as a tribute to recently departed Dusty Hill. Charlie Starr plays the actual 1950 Fender Broadcaster that Billy Gibbons used to record the song." So, maybe... just maybe, this will help you out a little bit with your "Blackberry Smoke" withdrawals!?!?!? Also, I don't know if you know this or not although you probably do, but just search "Blackberry Smoke" here on UA-cam and there are multiple "full concert" videos posted. But, believe me, I definitely get it, I really want to see this whole concert, as well!!! I kind of feel like, all of the "COVER" songs that they perform are really just "ONE OFF" performances that cannot be matched by anyone else other than maybe the original band!?!?!? The guys are great individuals as well…plus the brothers and sisters that you meet become family…I found them by accident in 2014. They were on Palladia…Leave A Scar Live. From that day, I’ve been hooked ever since. Charlie is an amazing songwriter…even Brandon! You should check out “Pearls”. Great great song!! Just listen to all of their music! Dude from Wild Feathers is singing. I guarantee you BBS played the Shit out of this song before they hit any stage. Soooo there’s that.
