    I've had mine for about four years now and the tone has changed I must say. It sounds waaay better, which I didn't think was possible. The only issue I have with this guitar is the fact that it takes a long time to put it down once you start playing it. Plan your day accordingly.

      Excellent. I've had mine for about 2 months now and I can already feel it loosening up a bit. Even new on the rack it was one of the best sounding guitars I'd ever heard. Looking forward to hearing it age.

    Got a Gibson SJ-200, and my Martin CEO-7 is my favourite. That 3/4 scale neck and Modified Vneck shape are so hard to beat. Best sound by far.

    Is it just me or does he look like a young Brian Johnson from AC/DC? Good review!

    How’s the action of CEO-7? How is its playability compared with Taylor guitars?

    • @MaurysMusic
      @MaurysMusic  2 роки тому

      Most are 7/64” at the bass E 12th, and all can be adjusted. Sorry, I don’t have experience with Taylors.

    It seems all Martin acoustics have such a metallic sound on the B string. I guess it is just the nature of an unwound string that seems to stand out. I am not talking about buzzing, because of a bad setup, but rather the timbre of that string really making itself stand out in a not so pleasent way, at least to me. Anyway, kind of drives me crazy. i have an OM-21 and CEO-7.

    • @chadkelley
      @chadkelley 2 роки тому

      The B string sticks out to me like a sore thumb on every brand of guitar. Gibson, Taylor, and, Martin it's all the same with the B string.

      @@chadkelley Hey Chad, you are correct. Brand does not matter. I guess my next step is to look for a brand of string that addressess the issue for those of us who notice it. This video has some suggestions >>>>> ua-cam.com/video/qkhazHraRMA/v-deo.html&ab_channel=tonefiendbyjoegore

      Hey Sam, that is also my experience. It’s more noticeable when playing fingerstyle and less obvious larger body guitars.

      Best pick up a banjo then, or a uke eh?

    I just ordered one, and I CANT WAIT! I played a used one and I fell in love as soon as I finger picked it. I just hope the new one I ordered will sound as good if not better! Oh man, after this I may only need a dread aught someday.. Maybe hd28v to pair, maybe none, this thing is a powerhouse. Compact, responsive, colorful, tone for DAYS

      This is funny... After playing a d18ge I ended up cancelling my order of the ceo7. I found the same crisp deep and airy tones but with more volume and low end. I did not buy the d18ge but instead I ordered a custom shop d18ge from my favorite guitars .com. It has the same specs except for a mlo performance neck instead of the mod v. The ceo7 is defiantly more comfortable in the lap, but the d18 has a lot more depth of tone.

      @@adriannasanchez468 Well yea the d18ge is a dreadnought so it's gonna have way more volume and depth. Imo the ceo 7 is far superior for fingerpicking though. Had a D28 and it really boomed but couldn't compare to my ceo 7 for fingerpicking. Even then the ceo 7 has surprising volume considering it's small size so it's a pretty versatile little guitar.

    Prior post " this will be my next guitar.....hopefully". Now have one ! ! ! Found a 2017 used / like new condition CEO-7 this summer (July 2019). Had Fishman Infinity pickup installed & set up by luthier , Dan Armstrong ( only one I trust with my guitars) . The one "fault" is true.....hard to put down once you start playing ! :-)

    This guitar is extremely similar to the new Martin 00L-17 series, I think the only main difference is the bridge string spacing, on the CEO-7 is wider.... The price on the CEO-7 is way higher compared with the 00L-17...... What does it makes this guitar more expensive? Is really worth the price difference? Thank you.

      Hmm, I just had to google OOL-17 seems like a new model in the range, very interesting. I agree it does appear to be very similar to the CEO7 aesthetically. The construction is probably more in line with the 15 range, the general consensus is lower grade woods (note the top and bracing is not Adirondack like the ceo 7) Suspect no dovetail neck joint but a mortise-and-tenon instead which if true is a big deal, matte finish - I would do your research on these beforehand so u know what your buying into. Non the less 00L-17 series looks a great guitar. Very cool very vintage looking, more of a cheaper 00-18v in terms of voicing i.e. mid rangey bluesy Gibson L-00 sound and feel, where as the CEO 7 had the L-00 feel but sonically it can out gun some martins twice its size.

      +Phillip Sanders hi Phillip, thank you for your kind reply. I did an extensive research and I bought the CEO-7, I love it, such a great guitar! The ton is incredible and very easy and comfortable to play.

      Differences that could affect price include top wood, bracing, neck shape, fingerboard, and finish. Probably some I've missed, too.

      4 years is a long time but I've been researching the EXACT same two guitars. You're literally the first person that's noticed the striking similarities in these two guitars. I'm guessing you bought one? You can literally buy two 00L-17 for the price of one CEO 7. Other than the Adirondack spruce top and gloss finish these two guitars are identical. I'm leaning to the 17 series but I'm curious to know your choice. Cheers mate

    I can’t put mine down, incredibly versatility and resonates throughout the entire fretboard. Great midrange with that punch of the classic Martin bass.

      Is vintage v neck comfortable to play with thumb over the fretboard for people with relatively short fingers?
