I'd like to believe it's a song presupposing that our smartphones developed self awareness and while they were primarily designed to churn our ongoings into a data/information commodity, this task becomes depressing to the device, feeling like a strange creep in every situation while human beings are blissfully unaware. Is this all I can be? The smartphone ponders the meaning of its existence and purpose of its programming.
Just thinking about the logistics of producing this inventive video makes my head spin! What a special artist Louis Cole is -- master drummer, innovative composer and visually arresting video producer. He's really carving out a rarified path for his supercharged creative spirit. These kinds of artists don't pass our way that often. All my best to him.
Hey mr cole I just want to say after one of the most horrible months in my life I’m genuinely really happy for the first time in the longest I can remember because of this song. It made me forget about all the bullshit I’ve been going through. Thank you so much 💜
Give 'Things' a listen to too if you haven't already Angel... I always find it helps me be bitter-sweetly happy during the tough times. Then again, all Louis Cole does! Much love..
This is exactly what I've been questioning myself since I lost all hopes in life. I'm still young and have no one to support me. Thanks Louis, for cheering up my heart in this infinite realm of incomprehensible suffering. You're amazing.
Yeah I think when he was finding his sound he used Brian Wilson & Beach Boy tunes as templates. It’s pretty deliberate, but I definitely don’t mind. He’s come into his own sound these days
Yeah man, loads of artists do this. You’d be surprised how many songs are just “rip offs” of other tunes. Thousands of songs have the same chord progression, some of them not on purpose. I think Louis wears his inspirations on his sleeve though and I really respect it. I’d love to sound anything similar to what inspires me.
This is what I call real love. Man. Now, when I gona one day wisit America, I will sing this song so deffinetely yes. this is a new Jazz standart ballad new generations will play in jam sessions not only west cost, not east cost but world wide. Pure honest beauty. You are a man Louis.
This video has shown me TWO things about Louis: 1. He is never short of creative uniqueness and 2. He got a new SUPER COOL camera to play with 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Absolute Fire!
Louis Cole is all about good ideas and good music, and forgetting being obsessed with production value. Function over form. His whole artistic vision is incredibly real and refreshing.
Your song was recommended by RM of BTS, I must say that this is such a beautiful song and your voice is just soo soothing 🥰 Just gained yourself a fan...
came here after 'rm from bts' shared this song on his Instagram account. I've been listening to this song for a while now and I'm absolutly obsessed with it. calms my anxiety like crazy!
There's also a few shots in Montreal, right around the time he was at the International Jazz Festival there. It makes the video a little bit more close to us knowing he filmed it all around the world!
This! Funny enough, a week ago I was in San Sebastián saying goodbye to my sisters before moving to Southern California to study music, where Louis did (I think). This video hit me really hard
This is insane. I discovered Louis Cole about a month ago while staying in Noord Amsterdam. I listened to his albums every day while walking around and I'm just now watching this video and figuring out that parts of it were recorded exactly where I was walking through. The shots near Kebec Corner and in Buikslotermeerplein - my mind is blown, what are the odds?

Greatest idea of a music video I’ve ever seen. Also I cried so hard the first like 5 times I ever watched this. Louis Cole is a mastermind, a renaissance man (without the syphilis), a true musical idiosyncrasy in the world today, and free therapy all in one tall white package.

@@macehead to 'spring a leak' is a common turn of phrase.
Still can’t believe it’s not even over a million - feels like half of it should come from myself only 😀
This is the first time I’ve cried while eating breakfast.
bro even when youre being reserved on those drums for the song, those simple little ghost notes get me nodding
Here I'm after I saw Namjoon's IG story....
And it's soo gooooddd 💜
Just thinking about the logistics of producing this inventive video makes my head spin! What a special artist Louis Cole is -- master drummer, innovative composer and visually arresting video producer. He's really carving out a rarified path for his supercharged creative spirit. These kinds of artists don't pass our way that often. All my best to him.
Hey mr cole I just want to say after one of the most horrible months in my life I’m genuinely really happy for the first time in the longest I can remember because of this song. It made me forget about all the bullshit I’ve been going through. Thank you so much 💜
Me too. Hang in there
Right there with ya bud. Keep your chin up! I’m trying too.
Im cheerin for you bro, stay positive
STAY STRONG, FOCUS ON THE REMAINDER AND NEVER BE AFRAID TO SAY NO TO PEOPLE.
THAT'S AN ORDER!
Give 'Things' a listen to too if you haven't already Angel... I always find it helps me be bitter-sweetly happy during the tough times. Then again, all Louis Cole does! Much love..
my main goal in life is to hear this live
No disrespect, but you can do better.
@@turbotegs2102 The bar is very low right now tbh
This is exactly what I've been questioning myself since I lost all hopes in life. I'm still young and have no one to support me. Thanks Louis, for cheering up my heart in this infinite realm of incomprehensible suffering. You're amazing.
Hang in there, Laura :) it gets better
I don't know you but I support you in spirit. You, me, whoever feels like this, we can do it. Somehow, someway.
You're not alone Laura.
You're not alone. Whenever you feel the need to talk we'll find a way via messengers or so. Just drop a line ! Here are people to listen to you.
You are also amazing never forget!
man that outro with just guitar chords... so fucking melancholic and beautiful and sublime
big Brian Wilson vibes. love it. this is gonna be on repeat for a while.
Wait till you catch "You'll Believe Me" off his second album.
Yeah I think when he was finding his sound he used Brian Wilson & Beach Boy tunes as templates. It’s pretty deliberate, but I definitely don’t mind. He’s come into his own sound these days
@@brileystewart Everything is a remix
Ohh that's where I got the christmas vibes from. It's this particular chord progression, and the stacked vocals ala Beach Boys
Yeah man, loads of artists do this. You’d be surprised how many songs are just “rip offs” of other tunes. Thousands of songs have the same chord progression, some of them not on purpose. I think Louis wears his inspirations on his sleeve though and I really respect it. I’d love to sound anything similar to what inspires me.
literally unfair how great this is
you sir definitely know how to create some magic. that was mesmerising 💜
Some how the song sounds old and refreshingly new at the same time, very clever.
This is what I call real love. Man. Now, when I gona one day wisit America, I will sing this song so deffinetely yes. this is a new Jazz standart ballad new generations will play in jam sessions not only west cost, not east cost but world wide. Pure honest beauty. You are a man Louis.
Congrats on the nomination Louis. Well deserved man. All your music should be heard by everyone.
Congrats on the Grammy nomination!
This video has shown me TWO things about Louis:
1. He is never short of creative uniqueness
and
2. He got a new SUPER COOL camera to play with
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Absolute Fire!
Haha... The camera is super cool, indeed! 😆
@@SimonAeberhard I was like, "they're having wayyyy too much fun with this" 🤣🤣🤣

This already feels like a classic. Beautifully written!
God, this is absolutely beautiful. Thank you for making this and making music.
I 100% cried during this song, it is incredibly beautiful.
Truly, music did not exist before Louis Cole made it.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 10/10 -OY3AH! “ COLE NEVER SWITCHED UP JUST WENT HARDER” top 10
After seeing the RM’s instagram, i came to listen to this song. I like it.
I laughed harder than I should have at the cinematography. Excellent song and video I love it!
Very Kung Pow! esque hahaha
When he was stood waist-deep in the ocean I cracked up
@@lewiji It was like icing on the cake. Louis Cole has one hell of a wonderful comedic ability on top of his already stellar talents.
+++!
Something about this smooth gradual zoom is masterfully done.
I’m reminded of the Limmy’s Show bit LOL
Louis Cole is all about good ideas and good music, and forgetting being obsessed with production value. Function over form. His whole artistic vision is incredibly real and refreshing.
Your song was recommended by RM of BTS, I must say that this is such a beautiful song and your voice is just soo soothing 🥰
Just gained yourself a fan...
came here after 'rm from bts' shared this song on his Instagram account. I've been listening to this song for a while now and I'm absolutly obsessed with it. calms my anxiety like crazy!
unironically, I want this played at my funeral. thanks louis
louis cole's drum sound is so goddamn cool
What a beautiful moment to be alive. This is a beautiful song. As Thundercat said "I Love Louis Cole"
Not gonna lie, I was searching for the Tame Impala song, but this was one of the top results. I don't regret clicking at all~
I am a simple man - I see Louis Cole drop a new banger I press Like
just came from a thundercat performance and heard him talking about this guy's music. Not disappointed
"I've got a good feeling about this"
-San Holo
I'm namjooning:) thanks rm for recommending us this beautiful song
thank you namjoon for bringing us here 💜
Grammy Nominated Badassness!
Cole is the Man. Dude I pray for the elevation of your recognition so your genius receives what is deserves. Be everywhere..... touch them all
this deserves a million views
3:10 and 5:14, he’s in San Sebastian, Spain, right before the concert we saw him at barely a week ago. This is fantastic, thank you.
Such an amazing city
There's also a few shots in Montreal, right around the time he was at the International Jazz Festival there. It makes the video a little bit more close to us knowing he filmed it all around the world!
@@incog.nyto. oh wow, that's crazy, I just kinda assumed it was all in the LA area
@@doggfite Me too! I thought so at the beginning but the few shots in Montreal peaked my curiosity
This song made the world better, and gave me hope for the future. thanks lc
I was about to say that this is maybe a little overexagurated.... but then again, we are talking about a Louis Cole song here after all... so your statement probably checks out
Good to know Louis Cole is always watching me
Something about comping quarter notes on a flying V brings a smile to my face. Wonderful tune as always Mr. Cole!
"Everything will be, let it happen" very Stoic
RM nos trajo hasta aquí desde su IG.
Gracias Nam-joon.
Greatest idea of a music video I’ve ever seen. Also I cried so hard the first like 5 times I ever watched this. Louis Cole is a mastermind, a renaissance man (without the syphilis), a true musical idiosyncrasy in the world today, and free therapy all in one tall white package.
Man, this song.
Dear Louis, I think you can tell from the comments that this creation of empathy, truth, and acceptance that you made for us really really was needed by the world right now. THANK YOU. THANK YOU!
This Summer is gonna be amazing for new music!
Summer is over though
@@RamenPoweredShitFactory August? lol
i literally just started a louis cole binge and he releases new music. couldn't be any happier. new louis cole AND jacob collier albums on the horizon
@@JasonEfstathiou Jacob Collier doesn’t do it for me, I don’t hear any Soul in his voice or arrangements whereas Louis Cole keeps the music human and pure.
@@nilssonschmillson5395 to each their own 🤷♂️ I'm a big fan of both. Jacob has started restraining the amount of ideas in his productions over his last two albums, which makes them a lot more impactful imo. The latest single bodes well for his next album too in this regard. Apart from that, i just can't help but marvel at his unparalleled raw skills... Saw him live a few weeks back and it was by far the most energetic, engaging, musically impressive and funky show I've seen.
regarding soul in his voice, i don't really think that's true at all, you should listen to "running outta love" for a good counter example!
