DD should have the customer to scan (put in) their ID as they PLACE their order! alcohol as well, THEN do a signature at drop off! that would satisfy some issues on our end!
I think the customers would feel better about scanning online, as well. I just don’t understand why they don’t do it that way. I 💯 have always thought 💭 that, also, & agree with you!
I did a delivery on Spark that also required an ID and signature check from the customer for cough syrup. The app makes the customer well aware that they will need to present their ID upon delivery, and I assume DD is no different. I would never want to upload my ID with their signature to "help them out" as it's a sure fire way to get deactivated. I get that they may need it for their kids, but don't order something that requires your ID if you don't have it with you.
Just a tip for you whenever you’re doing your shopping orders switch on your Wi-Fi. Safeway always has a guest password for you to use. This will avoid the annoying spinning wheel and it will go smooth. Just make sure to turn your Wi-Fi back off when you get in your car.
Tried to scan my own ID one time - The app knows it is you and tells you NEVER SCAN YOUR OWN ID!!! Don't do it. It was kid's cough syrup to a hotel where they met in the lobby and the scan seemed to go through OK, and then I lost cell signal and it didn't work. Ended up texting support and they marked it as delivered.
I wouldn't scan my own ID. After I accept the order and get the notification that I'm going to be required to scan an ID, I message the customer and give them a heads up. They'll have the entire time that I'm shopping and driving to them to find their ID.
I had a pickup grocery order from Albertsons which included cough syrup. Albertsons wanted my ID to pick it up. I ended up signing for it instead. Then I didn't have to get the customers ID. I didn't scan my ID. I don't think people are making drugs outta children's cough syrup I could totally be wrong. I always enjoy your videos 😊 Have a great day!
Sorry but for several reasons I’m not scanning my ID. I would just suggest getting a neighbor or someone else in the house with a proper ID to complete the order I will give someone extra time to find their ID or a suitable substitute before I even ever consider scanning mine.
Some cough syrups requires id when buying for store depending on what kind it is. Some teens use this stuff like its lean depending on the kind so a screen is a must i guess. ⚠️DONT SCAN YOUR OWN ID WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY'RE GOING TO DO WITH ANY ID REQUIRED ITEMS.
I deliver alcohol doing Door Dash but not instacart. The store I do the most shopping at has a long wait time for someone to come unlock the cabinet. The fewer hassles the better.
Nope, NEVER, EVER do that for anyone! Not worth the risk! If the store requires my ID at the point of sale, the same requirement applies to the customer, period.
I tried scanning my own ID once and it knew it was me and said scan the customer's ID, not your own ID. If I'm certain the person is over 21, I will just select can't hand to customer, then go ahead and leave it all with the customer and wait out the 5 minute timer. It happens now and then.
One time on a delivery way out in the sticks this old guy was PIST that I asked to scan his ID for alcohol and he started saying "do you wanna get paid or not?!" and I just told DD my camera wasn't working and to mark the delivery complete lol
It’s not a moral issue. It’s not an ethical issue. It’s a liability issue on DOORDASH and it’s very nice of you to want to scan your own ID to help the mother out but I’m gonna assume she was notified about showing her ID so she had the heads up. Because this is an algorithm, it will construe that that’s your ID and it could lead to a deactivation.
I don’t do alcohol deliveries, but with cough and cold medicines I always give them a text when I’m on my way and remind them that I will need identification before dropping off the order. That way they tend to be more prepared. I have long time ago, scanned my ID for a KFC delivery that had no alcohol and DD was under the impression that I was delivering alcohol.
I would want to scan my ID but can doordash tell it was my ID? They have all my info including my drivers license ID number so I wouldn't want to get in trouble just because someone doesn't keep track of where a very important document is. So NO, I would not scan my ID
Hi there. quite the dilemma. I would be worried DD could find out if I scanned my own ID, I agree it is a stupid rule. Here in Indiana we cannot deliver alcohol so I do not have to make that decision. If I had the option I would decline Alcohol orders,, 2 reasons. 1 Therre are to many possible ways for the order to go south.. What do you do if you deliver it and the person is drunk? What do you do if they do not have their ID and they get violent if you do not deliver to them. To many ways things can go wrong. I also do not want to deliver alcohol in case my delivering it could make someone's possible excess drinking problem worse. Most times the alcohol orders would go ok but it would take just 1 bad issue for you to have a very bad day. To me the risk would not be worth the extra money I could make,,,
I used to scan my i.d almost everyday because of it would take the 1st time then after im driving it come back for rescan and id do mine. Very irriated with doing that.
I don't take them. Not about pay or protection if anything goes wrong. They should have to submit photo and ID upfront so we just get photo and signature. I had glitch where I tabbed no alchol bit still recieved one. I had 15 alchol orders sent in one day. Apparently I was only approved one available in my market available for the whole hour I declined. If you get into an accident just delivering alchol you can havecit used against your I'd say is not worth it only bonded drivers should just be doing that and cigarettes
@Brash Dasher HAVE delivered birth control (prescriptions from walgreens). The delivery driver shouldn't even have this responsibility to verify the customer to begin with! This is something that should be done at the POINT OF SALE and the responsibility lies with the Know Your Customer laws between the Customer, the Merchant and the Facilitator (DoorDash).
The Albertsons in BG is the only one in the whole county. There's like 6 in the Portland area though. They are usually the worst cause they are long drives. Just order from Safeway... it's essentially the same store.
And one more thing, for the second time I got a message from DD that over 30% of my orders don’t have a picture of the delivery. I take a picture every time I am required, are they expecting me to take pictures of hand it to me orders and then send a text? Anyone else see this? Just one asinine thing after another. I am below silver now and can dash any time I want, think all the nonsense is thinning out the herd.
I wouldn't be surprised if the app isn't programmed to recognize the dasher's ID and reject it. Considering how much I rely on DD as my only source of income, I wouldn't even make the offer to scan my own. It's not like her kid's gonna die without it. Blame DoorDash, "I'm sorry, the app won't let me continue without scanning somebody's ID.. maybe a neighbor?" I've delivered alcohol to some college kids, clearly old enough, but dude who placed the order couldn't find his ID. I told them to just find me anybody over 21 with an ID to scan. A few minutes later another guy came running out with his ID. The law states we can't hand alcohol to a minor, I didn't.
Butnur going tonget the shopping orders with lower tiers because most people dont like the shopping but u have to sacrafice the dash now because ur not platinum
But I have delivered cigarettes to the same person numerous times and ID is still required every time. You would think after the first time it would be in the system. And the same with confirming the items are there why is it my responsibility to make sure the customer is old enough! Shouldn’t I have paid training on this LOL.
No im not risking mynaccount for someone who does not have id. Guess what u wont get it. Screw the child. U get in ur car andngonto store. Im not risking my account. There arenlaws and regulations. Not doing it
Nope cry me a river you were told to have your ID. It's your problem. No sympathy from me. Plus how do you not know where the damn thing is. Get your crap together! Don't be considerate for someone who is inconsiderate and wasting your time!
Butnur going tonget the shopping orders with lower tiers because most people dont like the shopping but u have to sacrafice the dash now because ur not platinum

Problem with that is a kid could have their parents ID and fake it Plus if we serve it to someone that's a minor we get in trouble
@@MarysGigs as i stated, once delivered that's when the customer SIGNS for the delivery. if someone you THINK is under age, then NO delivery!
I did a delivery on Spark that also required an ID and signature check from the customer for cough syrup. The app makes the customer well aware that they will need to present their ID upon delivery, and I assume DD is no different.

100% wouldn't scan it. Not getting in trouble for someone else's problems.

I would never scan my own ID however I would cancel and "dispose" of it. 😅😅
That was a good shopping day.
Yeah I scanned mine once . And it knew it was mine. Notice came up, please don't scan your own ID

You had a 'Shopping Bonanza' kinda day! It's always nice when you can do things your enjoy and make money at the same time. 😁

It has a certain ingredient that is regulated by federal law. I work for a national rx and we check I'd on most cough cold and flu items
CYA I would never scan my own ID for anything.
Sorry but for several reasons I’m not scanning my ID. I would just suggest getting a neighbor or someone else in the house with a proper ID to complete the order I will give someone extra time to find their ID or a suitable substitute before I even ever consider scanning mine.
I would never ever scan my own ID you will be deactivated when and if they find out oh and yes they will find out!!!!
I've delivered a couple of prescriptions. Could have been birth control for all i knew.
You have to follow your company's requirements in order to deliver some items, and it is just how it goes, no exceptions.

W/OUT ID, he WOULD NOT have gotten his order--simple. then contact support and you will not be penalized for it!
Had to turn down a 34 dollar Safeway order because ATT sucks here. Can’t get a cell signal in Safeway.
They have in-store WiFi in all my Safeway and Albertsons which works with DoorDash. Very easy, no email input required.
Thank you for video
Absofricking not. I am not scanning my ID and invite liability on myself and maybe also risk deactivation.
5:17 soon as the customer shuts the door lol i hate that scanning bs too lol
you know what pisses me off? is the vegetable scan thing. YOU CAN'T SCAN THE BAR CODE! There is no way around it.
I hate when that happens. I’ll scan something else till it lets me take a picture of what the customer wants.
@@TheBrashDasherhaha. Done that too 😅

They seem to cap earnings. If true, what possibly could be the motivation for this.

scanning your own ID doesn't work and the app recognizes that it you and flashes a message to not scan your own.
Definitely would just scan my own in that case if they couldn’t find it after a while

Hey Charlie!!😊😊. Did you see that UberEats is offering LIVE Xmas tree delivery?? Can you imagine the complaints that are going to generate?!?
Jump on me all ya want. I’ve never used the bag and I have a 5.0 rating on DD. 2000 deliveries between DD and GH.
You can’t scan your ID, I tried it once and it was rejected. Had to be the person who ordered.
8:00 I get where you’re coming from but I think that could be a good way to get deactivated.

I didn’t know you were fron Boston come back. Yes I know you don’t want to come back here
I had Canada Dry ZERO Ginger ale as alcohol. Customer said not the first time
😂
7:49 That was NOT her first time needing ID.
There is nothing I won't deliver.

Get you a 32 waist and get it altered
You can deliver birth control in MS
Without a prescription
Did you see the Uber update today lol 😂 we can drive Xmas 🎄 lol 😆 😊
🤦🏻♂️
Nope nope and nope
Now we know Costco is the way to get in Charlie's pants lol. Pretty good day for sure.
😆

Cigarettes, wow I've never heard of that
Some things that common ain't so common i bet someone in the comments believe they pick better quality produce then you 😅
😂
Doordash should have the customer scan your ID when placing the order. Should not be driver's responsibility
But then you run into adults buying it for kids
@8:04 not today fbi
any of you do spark driver? any way i can speed up the wait list? is it possible to sign up for another store and just switch to my local store?
Been on the list for a year
What’s cherry pick
I called doordash and see what they wanted to do.Cover your butt.
Be careful what you put in the comments as i believe DD daddy is watching lol!!
No im not risking mynaccount for someone who does not have id. Guess what u wont get it. Screw the child. U get in ur car andngonto store. Im not risking my account. There arenlaws and regulations. Not doing it
Checking the I.D. for cough syrup what if they have the plague.
Guess DoorDash will be delivering that too

I was raised by 2 alcoholics. Not crying about it, but I don't deliver alcohol.
Guest wifi is not secure. Don't take that advice
All orders are valuable and appreciated by the customer just dont expect tips for rewards from people who dont understand
I did a shipt.order that had tylenol on it and did not jave to get a signature
