This fight is epic. Everytime I saw it between those 2 I get goosebumps😆. In the first it shows the development of the character of Vegeta. In the whole Dragonball series, also in Dragonball Super, Vegeta is the character with the most emotional and characteristic development.
The part where Vegeta says he wanted to be evil it is his dark psychology of raised in traumatic way of life since he was boy, for him relationship and earth as nice place to live is not supposed to be normal this show how much worst freiza influenced his life.
PA PARA PA PAAAA!!!!! Good thumbnail choice dude. Out of all the freakin badassery in the goku and majin vegeta fight, you got a good still/pause chosen there haha. But seriously this arc and that fight are one of my favorite parts in dragonball history. Just so nostalgic and legendary. The animation... the music that goes with it.... the emotional depth of the battle.... the intensity of two badass ssj2's... COME THE F ON PEOPLE!!!! EEEEPPPIIIICCCCCC!!!
This episode and fight is beautiful!! That move from Vegeta against Goku in the thumbnail has always been in my mind whenever I see people talk about this epic fight. There are some crazy moments like when they fought on the ground with the slow-mo movements which was also very epic. Overall nostalgic and it just makes you feel kinda sentimental thinking about your childhood as well :)
@@KaizenReactions yeah the previous episode as well has insanely beautiful fight choreography and artwork. Like the slo mo close up combat we see where they are tripping each other and running at each other and it’s drawn perfectly. Never gets old. The last thing you said is so true as well!
The point is Vegeta can't let go of his attachments, and he knew Babidi could get rid of that "weakness". Vegeta believes he need the extra power and removed restraint in order to beat Goku.
Vegeta is the epitome of the Anti-Hero. DBZ is so good because it has a Hero and Anti-Hero as main protagonists, the dichotomy between them both drives the plot which makes the show compelling.
This episode here as well is insanely captivating just like the last two. The animation is also top notch! Vegeta explaining to Goku why he chose the dark path is always one of my favorite parts of the fight. A fight that’s SO DAMN GOOD! Notice something about Goku’s new techniques as a Super Saiyan 2. He’s found new tricks to the afterimage, he can cut blasts in half, and he can also shrink them into nothing. Vegeta’s transformation makes him more intense and sharper when he attacks. I love this show.😂⚡️
00:15 Laugh laugh when Buu breaks free he will eat you old foolish wizard and your dog Dabura. In a moment Buu will not listen to his master babidi but will act in his own way. 05:42 Could it be that babidi trembled at the power up Gohan who had flashbacks when he finally destroyed Cell to remind his former power. This further raised the energy in the ball and soon Buu will come out, the animation itself is pretty cool similar to when Goku first unleashed SSJ. It's likely that the fight between Goku and Vegeta resumed the growth of energy inside the ball when the possessed Vegeta was receiving blows and not the powered up Gohan, I think.
Goku: "Vegeta, I don't understand. You've never allowed anyone to help you before in your life. Why start now, why Babidi?!" Vegeta: "Because I wanted him to reawaken the evil in my heart. I wanted him to return me to the way I was before!" "I was the perfect warrior, cold and ruthless. I live by my strength alone uninhibited by foolish emotions! But slowly over the years, I became one of you." Supreme Kai and Gohan are too late from stopping Babidi's evil ways. Majin Buu is at full power and it's ready to hatch!
And it's all Goku's fault that even happened. If he just went Super Saiyan 3, Vegeta would've been broken. Once again he screws the Pooh by letting the situation escalate.
@SonicMegaKing All Goku’s fault?😂🤡 yeah, Vegeta just let himself be posessed for a meaningless reason, which forced the whole battle to begin. It’s all Vegeta’s fault. Then it became Goku’s responsibility to do damage control which he failed at for the reason of not transforming further
I remember thinking to myself when Vegeta said he let himself get controlled on purpose i was like what a dumbass i understood him until he said that stupid shit. Team Goku all day 💪🔥
In this episode, you can clearly see the physical differences between SSJ and SSJ2 because of the Animator's Attention to Detail, I wished that all of the Animators that Animated DBZ Would Pay Attention to that, if they did, there wouldn't be Confusion between SSJ1 and 2. BTW, Goku and Vegeta's SSJ2 Forms are alot stronger than Gohan's SSJ2 Form when he fought Cell.
I've seen a lot of people say that Vegeta was already able to transform into Super Saiyan 2 before allowing himself to be possessed by Babidi's magic, wich is, in my opinion, not the case. And the proof of that is in this very episode and It is even more clear in the manga; the English dub is really messed up, half of the dialogues in the series are completely different from the original Japanese, wich is sad. Anyways, When Goku Blew that monster Yakon up by overfeeding It with his pure energy, he transformed into Super Saiyan 2 for a couple of seconds, and Vegeta noticed It. From that moment on, It became clear to him that, even with his intense training in the past seven years, he was still not strong enough to close the gap between their powers. After hearing about Babidi's capabilities through the Supreme Kai and learning that Babidi's henchmen (Yamu and Spopovich) had suddenly and mysteriously powered up back at Tournament, the idea clicked in his head and he decided to let himself get caught by the Wizard's magic to unlock his hidden powers and, hopefully/finally, close the gap between him and Goku. And that's exactly what happened. In the manga Babidi specifically states that his ability is "to control and manipulate those with evil in their hearts and bring forth their hidden potential". Since Goku was only staying on Earth for just 24 hours, Vegeta didn't have any more time left to get more powerful through his trainings and deliberately resorted on Babidi's magic to get stronger so he could fight Kakarot at equal terms. So, moral of the story, Vegeta wasn't able to turn into SSJ2, At maximum he was able to achieve Super Saiyan Full Power. He definitely had the potential hidden within him, he just needed an external push (Babidi) to bring It out, Just like Gohan did back in the Cell Games, wich was 16's speach.
The one thing that always bothered me about this particular episode is the Martial Arts Tournament part with Mr. Satan giving an interview and people still cheering in the stands. Like one-third of the audience was just MURDERDED! That's a crime scene! Why are they going about things like it's business as usual. You'd be smelling burned or decaying bodies and they act like it's not there. Morally they make Vegeta look like a Saint for that.
Vegeta is all ego and Goku is an obsession that feeds more into that ego. Think about it Goku decides not to come back to life and within the 7 year time skip Vegeta and Bulma get married and although he decides not to fight anymore he keeps training but once Goku came back so did Vegetas unhealthy obsession of having to be better than Kakarot and wanting to fight him. Then all the Buu stuff happens and it seemed like Vegeta wasn't going to get the chance to fight Goku so he got irritated and impatient to the point that he decides to become the villain so Goku has no choice but to fight him. Vegeta is like an addict and Kakarot is the drug which is why his life got better without Kakarot no Kakarot no obsession.
Oh, the way I do it is. I just read the title of the opening credits and if it doesn't contain heavy spoilers, I just let it play. If it contains spoilers, I skip to the part until the actual episode begins and just click on play and time everything :)
@@KaizenReactions Was just curious because the opening credits of the Buu saga has spoilers. Like showing how Buu looks before the actual episode shows him.
This is why I don't take Vegeta's Sayian speeches seriously, because after what he did here he's nothing but a hypocrite. People always talk about his "character development" but the fact of the matter is he's Never changed! Even when he was wished back from the dragon balls on namek he stayed the same... I understand motivation to be the best, and wanting to beat your victor, but he was always petty with it. Piccolo and Tien had much better character development, because they actually feel like part of the Crew
i just want to say shin/ supreme kai even though he didn't accomplish much since he's nowhere near as powerful as the main z fighters, still was the only one in the universe actually attempting to do something about babidi and majin buu, knowing the extent and furosity that is majin buu in his pure form which he already encountered and miraculously survived due to other kais in the past. He also tried to stop majin vegeta and goku from fighting, which is the reason why buu hatched WAY faster than they expected (as stated in this episode). We as viewers are more informed than the characters so it's easy to get frustrated at their 'mistakes'. And Gohan wouldn't have been able to prevent the ball from hatching in a million years with goku and vegeta fighting at ssj2. Their battle doesn't span over that much time. Gohan at ssj2 with mulitple full power kamehameha's would do nothing on the buu egg ball thing as we saw, but I personally think that even if Goku and Vegeta were not fighting, his attacks would still do nothing to the egg/ buu's hibernation...maybe different with the gohan we see later on this arc.....? would be an interesting thought!
