Kelly, first and foremost, you look stunning! I went to the bins in AZ yesterday (12/27) for the first time and it was weird. I had to register to shop and I found nothing. That being said, I was in a hurry to head home to San Diego, but I would have stayed had I found anything worth picking up. Again, you look beautiful, keep on keeping on!
Hi Gratia! Ya - the registration thing started during Covid when they were watching their occupancy - don’t know why they still do it- but it keeps people employed! Lol! Hi Stephanie! I’m not surprised to hear that FOG has made it to the mall. It’s a nice brand and it was hard to get for the longest time because it was made in small collections. Now more of us can wear the clothing as it becomes affordable to the masses. I hope both you and I find our Alexander McQueen shoes in 2024! Happy New Year ♥️

Great video. I have sold 2 pairs of OOFOS and made a good profit. However, to wear them, meh! I don't find them to be "all that". Would love to find Magnolia Pearl to sell, but OMG, I don't get the appeal!

Love your thumbnail, so festive. I agree, BOLO does not mean buy blindly, especially if you are paying up. I always wonder, when videos say "I will link above", where is this 'above'? Didn't find any of the brands you had on your '23 list. I love that style of pants, the Fear of God. I think it looks really good on you but if it doesn't make you happy, sell sell sell. I find bags one of the easier things to list. I haven't found Oofos either. It makes sense that the bread&butter brands are going to be your leader. You find them more and they sell regularly because they are within more people's budget. Activewear is something people want all year long. I don't source it much because I don't find great brands and don't know what is best to pick up. Very helpful video, this series is educational for me.
Hi Elahnah! I have found a lot of higher end pieces take a bit longer to sell so I have to focus on what’s working to revive my business. I will forever be hunting for new sexy brands- and I will also give more attention to my buyers habits. I have decided to wear the FOG pants out and see what I think! When I am not immediately sold- it’s probably best to sell! Thanks for watching my friend - I am now binge watching to learn some new brands ❤️

That is such good advice about bolos. There was a big reseller that I used to watch (you would laugh) and every bolo they recommended I couldn't sell them! I eventually learned my lesson. I think most of us want to find Magnolia Pearl. I love your try-on. haha You're so cute. I've sold Dries Van Noten. Love it!!

@@KellyShaffnerchecking the comp alone is not enough. You have to check sell through rate. Pick something with 100% sell through rate and it likely get sold within 6 months if your price is right. If it doesn’t sell within 6 months, likely you price it to high. Something might be a bolo because of resell value but if sell though rate is 10% then likely will be sit for 2 years or more.

I sold a Escobar a few yrs ago for good money and I passed a skirt at the bins just cause it had pin marks and some spots I wasn’t sure they’d come off. Oh well you lose some and win some lol :) Happy New Year!!

Yeah Kelly, so glad you found some of your BOLOs. I've never even heard of some of these brands. I have no idea what's out there now. It's really funny how some things sell for some people but not for others. Everybody jumps on things, and they become a dime a dozen. Then it's on to the next big thing. Happy hunting, and may all your BOLO dreams come true in 2024. I'll be watching to see how you do.

I have learned a lot of BOLO brands by stumbling across something that felt like nice quality- then looking it up to find out it’s a desirable brand! I am also surprised that lululemon is your second best selling brand! Way to go with the athletic wear this year! I agree with the bolos. I found a NWT spell & the Gypsy dress 2 years ago. I have had it listed for over 2 years! I do not know why it has not sold but it definitely disappoints me. Fingers crossed you find the brands on your list and the styles that do well within those brands. This is your year for the Dickey blazer!
lol! I couldn’t even talk about the dickie blazer that I didn’t find! Taking a look at my numbers really makes me reconsider giving up on athletic wear. Thanks Amanda! I was actually really surprised to find both Athleta & Lululemon at the top of my best selling brands. I think it’s because I am picky about what I sell with these brands and that’s a lesson I need to carry over to ALL the other brands I source 🤣 I can’t wait to find my Oofos!?it is going to happen! I have found two gucci fakes so I’m okay not finding those high end designer items. I would love to find more Johnny Was (and hopefully one for me to keep). Still haven’t found Rothy’s, Frye or Tieks so I’d be happy finding any of those! (I did find and sell some Tory Burch boots this year)!🎉
Such a bummer that you found Gucci fakes! I found a vintage Gucci bag at the Phoenix bins. I was uncertain about the authenticity so I sent it to The Real Real. It sold fast and I made $400 but I still kick myself for not authenticating it and selling it myself. Live & Learn.

I will probably continue to source the BOLOS that aren’t selling quickly for me. I am trying to be more realistic about the demand for higher end pieces (for me) It’s a learning process- and it is always changing. I love this about our job - but it also makes me want to pull my hair out sometimes! lol! I wish you lots of fun BOLOs in the new year ♥️

Hi Terri! I steer away from shoes without sizing. I do occasionally sell shoes without a size tag and I will measure the insole from heel to toe. I then estimate the size based on the measurements and include a picture of a standard US shoe size chart to show how I came up with the size. I haven’t had any returns for fit using this method. I hope this is helpful ♥️
Hi Kelly! Do you remember the vintage shoes/sandals called YoYo’s? I had a caramel colored pair in the 70’s, when I was a kid. They had a “rubber” platform heel with circles cut of the heels. 🙂💝
