A NAS is stupid, at least if you only have one, suppose there is a thunder storm, the lightning strikes and your NAS are dead ! Always have extre back-up off the grid !!! I have always at least 3 back-up system of different brands/models, never get the same brand/model, because if it has a fault, all will have the same fault.

Lucky me that I have 2 NAS then that backups my original NAS. But hey… everything can happen.
