- Can one woman empower the marginalized women of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to claim their basic human rights during child birth, in a society where a dead body has more legal rights than a pregnant woman?
Malu reaches out to the women whose rights more than often are violated when delivering, the women of the infamous Favelas in Rio de Janeiro. But how can she continue her fight in the periphery when the support she gains, ends up coming from a structure backed by organized crime and led by drug lords?
