The chain from the hook is touching the bottom, So it gets heated by the burner and you have carcinogens in your coffee. You can see black smoke going from the chain right in your water. This is an engineer's nightmare
@@Tiarara21 Can you add a little about the experience? I know it looks so nerdy and cool, but, does it really add something to the flavour? Is it better extracted? How is it? I want one, without a doubt haha.
@@EagerSnake Brewing great coffee is like baking in that it requires ideal portions/proportions of ingredients, temperature, time and a minimum of "off flavors." Vacuum brewing in glass ensures the coffee extraction occurs at the proper temperature, much hotter than regular drip coffee makers, and the only things touching the process are glass, water and coffee, no paper filters. True coffee geeks might replace the plastic/metal filter with an old glass "Cory rod." Note that for smaller quantities, say, under four cups, you do need to up the amount of ground coffee per cup of water slightly.
I've read about the benefits, and I know how well it would work with the single origin coffee we buy, and I've owned a Bodum French press for many years; but your video is of zero use to me since it has no dialogue. Thank goodness there are other brands, and other video makers, who choose to show a blind person how to make her own coffee.
Easier to clean than a french press, you only need to remove the grinds from the top piece and rinse the rest, unlike the filter you need to take apart on a french press.

I want this fancy lunacy
Looks like the perfect gift for my brother inlaw. He's an engineer

Are there any benefits to this? More flavor? Or just to look fancy?
yes.
You get the best taste from the coffee.
I'm a coffee snob and I swear this is the best cup of brewed coffee I've ever had!
Can you use it for tea?
Yes.
This looks great but it only seems to be useful if you want to make several cups of coffee at once?
one cup is fine too, use it all the time

@@Nano0k thanks for the answer. I bought one a year and a half ago. It's been amazing. Truly amazing.

What is blind porn like? Is it like, ridiculously descriptive, with extra distinct sex sound noises?
What a pain in the ass all of that would be to clean up. I'll just stick with my simple French press.

You French are so snobby
