Hmmm what is the most efficient alpha ship to do this with...fast enough to not waste time running away from frigates but has decent enough firepower to kill the hauler faster

An attack battlecruiser like the Oracle might be good, but you'd need good sp and align before firing if you want to warp out before the defense fleet comes in. Otherwise, the Sunesis, while lower firepower is extremely maneuverable, has good fitting space and requires lower skills.

@@parallelflow is there an alternative to modal light ions so there would be higher dps and faster way of killing the hauler and less time we can spend running away from the guards... Assuming I'm using a cormorant

@@earlkentsucalit3301 the problem is fitting space, specifically cpu requirement for better blasters. Max cpu output skills might help, but because of the ship, you can only get so much out of a deck of light blasters.

Gnosis might be a good choice

Tried this with the same ship but I warp out the exact moment they show up but I can't escape and blow up wtf am I doing something wrong?... also am already alligned before engaging
Edit: can I warp out before they show up and still make it work?

I would recommend waiting for the guns to only cycle once or twice before warping out. A good tip here would be to watch what the hauler is doing very closely, so that once you see it start to align to its safe spot you can start warping out yourself.
Once the AI registers that you have fired on the hauler, it starts the whole process and the defense fleet warps in like a bunch of murder hornets.. so yeah, kick off the AI's process, then gtfo!
A trick I learned (trying) to land rockets in Kerbal Space Program is to record while doing stuff and then afterwards rewatch your clips in slow motion so you can look closely at ways to improve things and catch stuff you didn't notice in the moment.

I'd like to think I'm the Sam Harris of niche officially sanctioned space piracy.
