We need a side by side speed contest: Kai vs Lok using their preferred methods on their preferred tripods. The one thing I've heard others say about twist lock legs is that they can't tell at a glance if the leg is locked or not, whereas with the other kind they can. I've yet to buy a good tripod, though I've been eyeing Gitzos because it seems they are really solid, but I wonder if that's ever a problem for Gitzo users.
I have the Gitzo 1545T Traveler. I think its one size lighter/smaller than this one. Its awesome how strong and stable it is yet easy to travel with, I even take it backpacking. I agree with Lok, these twists are easier than locks and if done right stay closed firmly. Only trouble is I don't think I'll ever buy another travel tripod again. That's OK, I can always buy a heavy duty tripod instead. It works OK with my long lenses and Wimberly but I'm currently saving for a full-size tripod for this purpose, but I'd still use it for everything up to 200mm lenses.
If I was Loks wife and noticed how sensually he caresses a tripod leg, I would probably dress like a box in a box in a box and have myself slowly unboxed. (But not on UA-cam)
Great review Lok. I've had my eye on a Gitzo tripod for while now. I think this one is out of my price range, but I'll look to pick up one of the non-limited model at The Photography Show next year.
A bit slow at the start - over 2 minutes before it came out of box, but otherwise a very useful review, thank you. It would have been good to see the height fully extended too.
Got one new half price at 750 euro. Amazing quality, amazing brand, so compact and light. Is it worth the money? Depends on your budget. If you have the money, definitely.
lok is funnier than kai...shit your good! keep up the good work!!! the world needs your honesty. in your opinion what brand comes next to gitzo in quality and technology? kai is a paid agent, of course he is going trash down anything against them. twist or flip doesnt matter at all you just demonstrated it. thanks a lot!
How can you objectively review a tripod without testing stability with the legs fully extended? Even $100 tripods will appear that sturdy with no leg extension.
Most pro tripods Really Right Stuff and Gtizo last a lifetime if you take care of it. Trust me once you own one you never need to worry again about your tripod, and never look back to any other brands. Super lightweight, strong, and can usually handle loads from 20lb-22lb for this one. They are great and I think some are worth it actually, but I can agree that some are way up there. Ball head is amazing. You can expect to spend a min of 800-1k on a quality tripod regardless. This one is hand made, not sure about RRS though but its probably the same.
@@StuninRub Piece of shit? Wow. Seriously? It may be overpriced, but it's an "anniversary" edition, so it's bound to have a premium tag, but it most certainly is not a piece of shit.
Rick Deckard I have the $1000 series one, if you don’t understand how important it is to have a tripod this size that carries my C200 you simply don’t understand this business.

Never a problem to me cause I don't know in what kind of situation you'd leave it unlock anyway!

Chrismzeller I have a Series 2, a Series 3 Systematic XLS (with an Arca Swiss Cube on it), and now I just bought a Series 0 for light travel... :o)
It's very hard to tell in this video if that tripod is closer to the 1545 or the 2545, I really wish I knew. It has the feet of the 1545.

Lok is able to make a mundane "Breakfast B" in a typical Hong Kong Cha-chaan-teng sound like a feast!
Finally, someone demonstrates how impotent the anti-twistlock argument is. :)

Waiting kai's comment
"Most of our packaging is somewhat biodegradable!"
"Oh, whoops! We had better add a layer of plastic."

it's a limited edition gitzo tripod.. if you can afford to buy it, why not.
that is why it is limited
It took half of the video length before you actually take the tripod out of the box.
nice! old DR music too ;)

Scott Becker cause it is not a review but a quick first look at the product
it's gitzo. Of course it's stable. Have you ever heard about some gitzo that is soft?
Poolyvcarbonate?
Lok the Cat!
At 1500 for a tripod I will buy if I win the 130 million euromillions this evening.
A vlog about a box?
So, we've established that you have an attention span of around two minutes...?
Should have called it the Gitzo Nikon given they both share their 100th birthday in the same year 😃
SEXY👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😂😭😂😂😭😭😂😭🙈🙊🙉...........but the 1,500.00 is half way to 3,300.00 D850. 🙈🙉🙊🐒🐒🐒🐒😆😭😂😂😭😁😝😵😳😳😳😳😳😳🌬💰🌬💰🌬💰💰💰💰💰

That piece of shit cost more then my 5563gs, that ridiculous for what looks like a series 00.

It cost 50 dollars to make in China
+Yassine Bend except it’s assembled by in Italy with the majority of the parts (certainly the metal) fabricated there too.
LoL 1500 $
$1,500 tripod lol
it's not out yet but you can be the first idiot to buy.

1500 Balloons and no carry bag??
Like PT Barnum said :"There's a SUCKER born every minute."
Not once, in my nearly forty years of photography have I _ever_ thought... "Damn, I wish this tripod had a bag".
For God sake, do some homework before you review the tripod.
Zhang David What did I miss?
almost everything
care to explain ?
@@AbirZenith Two years later, and surprisingly, Mr Zhang is yet to come up with whatever it was that Lok missed. I'm stunned by this.
