Springsteen's second album The Wild, the Innocent and the E Street Shuffle is one of my all time favorites-- try Kitty's Back in Town, Rosalita, or Incident on 57th Street, all from the sam album.
Those early Springsteen albums are great . I liked Bruce a lot better in these early days than when he became a superstar . Growing up in New Jersey these songs were on the radio all the time . He was the boss , perhaps only Frank Sinatra was more popular as a native from New Jersey. There were also the Rascals , the four seasons and Bon Jovi all natives of the state but it was Bruce who really stood out . The morning disc jockeys used to play a few songs in a row by him , they called it Bruce Juice at the time . Lyric wise they say he was influenced by Bob Dylan . You need to hear more from this album like Rosalita and incident on 57 th street I think it was called . Great stuff . It’s midnight in Manhattan and it’s no time to get cute ( New York City Serenade ) .
From my favorite album of his, and I highly recommend going down this rabbit hole! Seriously. Incident on 57 th st. The Angel, hard to be a saint in the city, rosalita, and a few others...all from his first two lps, will blow your mind! PLEASE, TRUST ME!!
I was in high school and my friend was a recording engineer in the local studio where this album was recorded. Got to watch the whole album being recorded, it was incredible!
And to think, this song is 50 years old and still as fresh and powerful as they day it was released!!! Greetings again from Canada, and looking for the soulful deep songs, "Incident on 57th Street", "Jungleland" and "Meeting across the River" is a small sample size!!
The Wild, the Innocent… is my favourite Springsteen album. There is a great slow live version of this song. The outtakes are also good, The Fever, Hey Santa Ana, Zero and Blind Terry, etc.
From his second album, back in 1973, and by far the best thing he's ever done. Sandy, Rosalita, Kitty's Back... great stff. I don't think the band was ever the same after the drummer, Mad Dog Lopez, left.
Totally different for Bruce. I'm not sure I would have caught on. It was like everything was cranked up in speed, instruments, lyrics and Bruce himself. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Uncle Phil. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
Great song, album and one of the best back in the early days through his Darkness on theEdge of Town album. My favorite is Rosalita, which ranks up there amongst the best rock songs in history!
Early Bruce was so fantastic and creative…very few can sustain such heights, and Bruce didn’t either. His performances continued to be masterful, and he still wrote some great songs, but his musical creativity never again touched the first 4-5 albums again. But we always have those!!
The Bruce Springsteen Band was soul group. David Sancious was his keyboard player and his drummer, Vinnie actually had the E Street Band pretty much together. When ESB broke up, Bruce went back to soul influence. At concert I attended he said at break he’ll “ be back with more rock and soul entertainment”. “Soul Driver” reunited him
@@unclephil7650 Thanks, but I was referring to the video performance. As far as this and other Springsteen albums, I have nearly all of them. Again, great choice!
Thanks Harri. Yes, Bruce’s first three albums were different in style then the ones that followed. Like you said, a heavy 60’s feel to them. Maybe you could react to his first five albums. To me this represents his greatest period (1973-1980).
Hey Uncle Phil maybe you could suggest Springsteen's Detroit medley - (the live one from Tempe Arizona in 1980 has best quality) . Harri you'll LOVE it ! keep on rockin
Bruce has always stated Sam and Dave as one of his inspirations. This is from his second album and he is still looking for his style. He has gone back to soul music since the 90s by developing his ‘predicator’ persona onstage, sometimes with gospel like back up singers. See Land of Hope and Dreams for instance.
OK I HATE Bruce . His voice is crap. That said, Listen to Dan Fogelbergs Netherlands album. Don't review it just listen to it. You are missing a musical education by not listening to it.
Every song bruce sings sings sounds like he is singing while having a pitiful bowel movement, His band is awesome, but his voice has always been , for the lack of a better word, CRAP!
@@duaneburcham8445 That’s a very good description 😂I love good singers, the human voice is my favorite instrument. And yet I adore Bruce, that’s how good most of his music is to me!

Ain't it the truth. My all time favorite bruce album. Such a great roadtrip album.
A superb and entertaining album.
My fave BS&ESB album, hands down.
"Spirits in The Night" next!
His early albums were soulful and many lyrics....Greetings from Asbury Park and The Wild , Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle
Thanks to Uncle Phil! I love early Springsteen. The first 2 albums are my favorites. Listen to Kitty's Back or Wild Billy's Circus Story
Those first two records are so packed with awesomeness. New York City Serenade is one of his most beautiful songs.

Wow! I am not worthy 🙏
Such a great tune. I love early Bruce
vinny Lopez on drums and David sancious on keyboards… Bruce’s 2nd album
So many of his songs would create a movie in your mind. That's one of the things about Bruce Springsteen that is special, the lyrics.

If I should fall behind official live dvd .That's amazing to watch n listen too
Check out Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes. Same place same time same bars! And definitely influenced by '60s soul...
From his second album, back in 1973, and by far the best thing he's ever done. Sandy, Rosalita, Kitty's Back... great stff. I don't think the band was ever the same after the drummer, Mad Dog Lopez, left.
Now look what you’ve done! You could do reactions everyday for years and still be “sanging “ Bruce! Enjoy it. And take care of yourself 💕
Haven’t heard this in awhile. Thanks Uncle Phil🌺✌️

Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and
Uncle Phil. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
You are so welcome.😎
Great song, album and one of the best back in the early days through his Darkness on theEdge of Town album. My favorite is Rosalita, which ranks up there amongst the best rock songs in history!
Early Bruce was the best Bruce...gritty, raw, soulful.

He definitely threw in the proverbial kitchen sink into his early albums and it was influential. Rickie Lee Jones comes to mind.

Uncle Phil you submitted a version that I have never heard (or perhaps remember). Very 'well played'😊 and Harri, you did a great review. Bravo!!!
Off of his second album. Check it out, you’ll love it.
@@unclephil7650 Thanks, but I was referring to the video performance. As far as this and other Springsteen albums, I have nearly all of them. Again, great choice!
Dude this song is 40+ years old good job
'Rosalita', my friend .. especially the 70s LIVE version .. you won't be disappointed :)

Definitely. Also the Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels version
The Wild and Innocent album is a masterpiece...and it's only his 2nd time out!!!
I think Harri would love Kitty's Back from the same album!

I love that song
Uncle Phil, this is a dynamite song by Bruce. Different from his usual choice for sure but fantastic. ☯
Check out his first four albums in order. You’ll be amazed
E Street band is Bruce Springsteen's band they all have played together for years it's a family
The much overlooked Second album. His first is even more overlooked but both are some of his best work.
if David Sancious and Vini Lopez had stayed with the band...it would have been a lot different..
H, hardcore E Street fans favorite Album...
Back when Springsteen was another "new Dylan."
Sparks fly on E Street !
Springsteen lost this type of 'soulful/funky early vibe' over the years. I guess it is fair to say almost every artist/band does.
Nah, it is evident on stage when he is ‘preaching’. He lost the jazz influence, probably when Vini Lopez and Vini Sancious left the band.
Ok. Soul? I hear funk. 🤷🏼♂️
