Interesting! I’ve always loved eggs. I ate them a ton when pregnant, nursing and just in general. I even like them hardboiled. Now that I am older, I will look into your supp recs
Over 99% of eggs sold in the US are factory farmed. These artificially bred animals never see the light of day, get fed cheapest corn and soy, antibiotics, supplements and are sprayed with chemicals. Even the best chicken eggs are still quite low in lutein though, about 0.3mg. A cup of dark leafy greens contains up to 4mg of lutein and zeaxanthin. If you equate for calories then this increases to 50x.
Im very interested in trying the Lutein from from BowMar, but I keep hearing over and over to keep away from seed oils and it is one of the ingredients (Sunflower oil). What are your thoughts?
I haven't found a single one without sunflower oil though (incl. Bowmar)? Tbh I'd rather eat organic goji berries and pasture raised eggs instead plus keep real olive oil in the diet until there are cleaner Lutein products on the market, maybe your video will help spread awareness to these companies esp when it comes to the tight window of extraction.
So can we just eat the marigolds? lol ;-) I was remembering that calendula (marigold) is really good for the skin, so now wondering if that has anything to do with the lutein. Oh, at one point, you said 5 (or 10?) grams, but I'm thinking you surely meant milligrams. My thoughts on something like this always lean toward the question of how would we ever get that much naturally? And if we can't, then how can we be sure taking such a large amount won't cause some kind of imbalance? Even in some supposed unrelated area in our highly complex bods? Even if they say one can't get too much (which in itself sounds goofy ... we can get too much of anything), since they haven't observed any bad reaction, again, how can they know it won't cause an imbalance in some currently unknown way? Remember when they said we don't need our appendix? (maybe some still do) And now, as I understand, they're saying that it has a role in our immune system. Aaaand we wonder why our people are so sick. Um 'kay. Yeah, I trust nature. Btw, here's an interesting topic. Circumcision. There's abolutely no good or scientific reason for it (genital mutilation).
