I'm a groundhopper and I've visited The Den. I met some truly passionate, knowledgable and friendly football fans. Obviously they have a few boneheads down there but I thoroughly enjoyed my day down there. Proper club with proper fans.

@@patrickglennon6834 Good question. Most 3rd tier and below are good visits. Rochdale was a decent day as was Tranmere. Good grounds with friendly fans.
The memorial gardens is a great touch. Millwall seems to have a ‘family ethos’. Like the passion evident.
Towards the end of the game often a lot of the families turn in on each other, fuelled by booze and drugs, it's quite a scene to watch. There are a lot of dysfunctional families there.
Blackburn Rovers supporter here - I have a lot of respect for Millwall. One of the last few proper clubs around, and their supporters are some of the last proper Londoners. I hope they get promoted, I'd love to see them terrorise the corporate Premier League!
Throw Brentford and QPR into the mix. West Ham fans now have the highest average wages of any EPL supporter.

Ælfrēd II I wouldn't say so anymore. Moving out of Upton Park was the final nail in the coffin for that club. At least the supporters who travelled in from Essex could recapture their youth spent with fathers/grandfathers etc. but that's no longer the case. Locally run businesses in and around West Ham have been forced to close as well given they no longer receive matchday revenues. Reinforces your point!

It HAS been true for the 57 years since I went.
Even recently the odd goal difference v Everton should have been ruled out as should BOTH of our goals v Brighton who also had a perfectly good late winning goal in extra time ruled out and were not given a cast iron penalty.THAT is why we broke the football league record when we had a decent team to match by going almost THREE seasons,in succession unbeaten at home totalling 59 games. I was there for every one then at THe OLD DEN where there REALLY was an incomparable atmosphere...lol @ @@gt2e

To be fair to MIllwall they were very good that season too. When the two met for this game both had been on some insane unbeaten run, about 40 games between em.

My first ever away game was at the den Millwall, and always remember some gaj of our coach giving me a few boro car stickers and asking me to stick them at the back of cars on the way to the den, obviously I did wasn't until we we're on the way back (after being held back for an hour) that almost every car I put a sticker on either was dented and battered including windows shattered or had left but not before leaving shattered glass behind in their space pmsl, UTB

I remember playing Millwall a Tuesday night match at Bramall Lane.... 90 minutes we were losing 2-1 H Block starts chanting... Your gonna get your fucking head kicked in.... Then we scored 2 in injury time winning 3-2 Millwall started chanting..... Yooo Ganna get your Fackin heads kicked in..... After the match it were like the Wild West on Bramall Lane went off good and proper.... 2002-2003 I think ⚔️
