"Everything Must Change" is a lesser known standard which was originally released on Quincy Jones’ 1974 album Body Heat, and later recorded by Barbara Streisand, Peggy Lee, Chaka Khan, Nina Simone, Nancy Wilson, David Sanborn, George Benson, Michael Lington, and many others. The lyrics are about the inevitability of change in life, compared to the constants of nature. These hauntingly poignant and timeless lyrics encapsulate the overall mood of the album, and dedicated to my mother, who requested I do this song.
