2:35 - 4:35 "it sounds like a marching band, someone is marching their way through something" and "the core of the song really is about that journey" is a really interesting note, since in the 2D MV we can see how Nayuta (the Vocalist) is "walking" towards us as time passes by, the whole story is about his past and his journey to become who he is now It's nice to see how the song, even without context, succeeded in delivering its message!
OH! I was not expecting I'd get even remotely close in what I felt from what is in the MV 🤯I guess we can all conclude that this is what great storytelling through music is. If someone can understand a story - at least grasp some of it - without needing to dive deep into the story/lore, it means the composer/lyricist did an awesome job at fleshing that out so that anyone can enjoy it and, in a way, relate to the song. Thanks for the comment and extra insights @Chiku039! Happy Holidays! 🎄
I came here because it was requested by my mutuals on Twt, suzume! But to give further explanation to the instrumentals, The song's music was made by one of the DOES members, Wataru, which is why the drums are pretty much dominant throughout the song! This explains why the song would sound familiar to some. And yes, this song has a relationship to the vocalist, as this was about his story of climbing the way to the top (from what I can understand in the MV), and meeting a fitting rival. About the live performance, this was first performed in the hometown of the 2D band, Sapporo back in September!
Those drums are way too awesome! I feel like the storytelling is being made mainly through them (as far as the instrumental goes) which is a rare thing to happen. Once again, most songs are firstly composed on guitar or piano so to find one that started on the drums and grew from there is quite interesting! Glad I was not wrong 😅 The concept surely is well fleshed out because from what I hear - without a clue about the story in the franchise - I could understand hits and bits (sign of a good composition). Oh! So it was an exclusive premiere for GYROAXIA's fans! @Aina, thank you so much for the insights on the franchise - there's only so much I can properly follow, so I end up only following the music - so your comment really filled a gap in my understanding of the franchise! Happy Holidays! 🎄
