Love it! Really Peaceful!
Awesome, sweet and wonderful
beautiful ! So good to hear Norah getting back to her jazz and blues roots. And we need peace right now in America.
Lyrics :
There's a place that I know where the sycamores grow
And daffodils have their fun
Where the cares of the day seems to slowly fade away
And the glow of the evening sun
Peace when the day is done
If I go there real late, let my mind meditate on everything to be done
If I search deep inside, let my conscience be my guide
Then the answers are sure to come
Don't have to worry none
When you find a piece of mind
Leave you worries behind
Don't say that it can't be done
With a new point of view
Life's true meaning comes to you
And the freedom you seek is one
Peace is for everyone
Peace is for everyone
Peace is for everyone
Thanks. Did Horace Silver write the lyrics as well? This is just fabulous - never heard it with lyrics before and she does a great job.
@@jimkangas4176 Yes he did. Peace was first recorded 29 Aug 1959 for the Blue Note album . As with many of his compositions, Silver got interested later in writing lyrics, in this case probably for Andy Bey on the 1970 album
@@HandyGuy Thanks. This was the theme song for "Eric in the Evening" - pretty much "the" jazz show on Boston radio (WBUR) for decades, hosted by Eric Jackson. Sad to say that he recently passed away a few years after they "talk-radio-ified" the station. But I will never forget this tune.
Chris Thomas est heureux de jouer pour Elle😘
Something about this song has Christmas vibes to me....I'm pretty sure there's a Christmas song out there that has similar chord changes at certain parts....but I can't place it....
Just carries me away on a magic carpet to thoughts of serenity
This girl is gold, she accompaines her own fantastic voice with beautiful piano playing, so jazz. Here she has a wonderful pair of musicians with her... we must be proud of Norah Jones!!
Peace is for everyone, true!!!
She and this song both define "unique." Peace be with you all!
Norah Jones, I wish the great Oprah Winfrey would do an interview with you. She might even get you a TV show like Judy Garland used to have -- Vic Alexander
In love with Norah and her gentle soul since day one!
BEAUTIFUL
THANK YOU
🙏💗🌍🕊️
日本から失礼します。
大好きな曲。
2017年の大阪城ホールで見ましたが、素敵でした。
心の支えであり、リラックスしたい時に聴きたい曲!
Soothingly peaceful love!
Wonderful 🥰
They did justice to this Horace Silver composition--beautiful.
What a "Soulful" rendition!
I'm at truly at PEACE within myself after listening to her soothing voice!
One of Horace's most beautiful compositions and nice lyrics too lends itself very well to vocal versions. Ms. Jones is a worthy interpreter. Just in case anyone is interested there are equally beautiful vocal interpretations of this beautiful song to be found on you tube by Dee Dee Bridgewater and Andy Bey on the Horace Silver album " The United Peace of Mind" not to mention the original instrumental version but that's not the subject here. Good taste Ms. Jones and you do this composition justice. Here is the original performance

IN ALL THIS SADNESS 😭
GODD BLESS EVERYONE
AND
I DEARLY LOVE YOU 💗
One of my absolute favorites! That voice is so soothing and her piano playing is superb!
😍
This is what I hear when I think of the word “jazz”. This is the most underrated song on the come away with me album.
I do agree with you. You can feel the typical atmosphere jazz chords convey. Just a detail: this song (written by Horace Silver) is recorded on "Day Breaks".
@@simonezanella5953 hi, now you can listen to the first unreleased version of “peace” during The Allaire Sessions of the first album.
@agonygoes I bought the Deluxe Edition and I listen to it everyday 🥰🥰
Just learned of this song. It is magic. Perfect combination of lament and release. PEACE
Listen to Tommy Flannagan's (instrumental) version. It was Boston radio's "Jazz with Eric" theme song for decades. Iconic for me.
I saw you performing this incredible tune in Padova, few months ago. It was just beautiful. Thank you for being such an inspiration.
❤️👏🏻
Wow, so impressive:)
This is so freaking good!
❤
another amazing bassist (besides chrstian mcbride) ...well, brain is just a killa....i still don't know if she's a country or jazz singer? very "broawday" approach if you ask me...i can do this, i can do that....in reality that's impossible...etc.
Stunning song
I really like this amazing singer!
Perfect, beautiful velvety voice and great band
I just learned about a singer you won't I believe listening to Rebekka Karijord some examples of her work are The Noble Art of Letting Go, Wear It Like a Crown, Oh, Brother
