I'm enjoying y'alls trip. You can't beat that "port-a-gee" sausage. I have never been able to find it in the South. It was on the menu at McDonald's when I lived there. I'm sure you've got a lot of people jealous, lol. Have a blast while you're there. Be careful about taking things off the Islands. The Hawaiian gods don't like it. The airport in Hilo used to brush the bottoms of your shoes before you board so you don't take any bad luck with you on the plane. Hawaii Volcanoes Park is loaded with trinkets, rocks, sand, etc. from people that have sent it back because of the bad luck it gave them. Pele' is very strict and vengeful. 😊

From the first video, fly out of San Francisco rather than Lax. My daughter lived in Hawaii for 7years hated if she had to use Lax always a problem there. Only minor issues at San Francisco.

Thank you Nina for recording the coastline which I first saw 14 years ago in 2010 when my deceased wife and i explored this island. Its hard to believe the changes in such a short time and the woke will say climate change, Reality is mankind changing the land for tourism without repairing it. You went down some trails where it was a track among the trees, and in 15 years its a track amongst the ROOTS. At this rate in another 10 years it will be a trail through the the desert. Very sorry but its not climate change which is destroying the earth, but ignorant tourists, and the ignorant government departments who cater for them, TO BALANCE THE BUDGET: without a cent being spent on saving the environment. (Not climate change, but greed).

Climate change is real, but not man made.. It is due to the earths rotation around the sun which is not fixed but parabolic and changes from century to century, hence the past dozens of ice ages followed by mild weather such as we've experienced the past few 1000s of years, and now we're beginning into the heat age where the entire planet will become warmer, ice will all melt, winter weather will become a thing of the past,etc... It happens, and it takes many years for it to happen... The earth shifted on its axis a few degrees back almost 20 years ago pointing the poles further away from 0° vertical and presenting the normally more temperate areas to become warmer while the poles saw more intense sunlight for longer periods.
This, too, shall pass in a few dozen millenium as we head towards another ice age, however, none of us will be alive or around to see it some 30-50k or more years on down the timeline.. And shame on all them tourists walking down that government allowed trail instead of trampling willy nilly wherever they wish to like they did back before the 1980s and before..

Greetings from the Netherlands, i might be wrong (maybe Hawai has different rules...... but it is a democrat hellhole so i dont think so).... Coral cant be freely imported, it is an endangered "specie" ... so you might get in trouble when going through customs

Hawaii turned Republican in the primary election with the Republican nominee getting 97.7 % of the Hawaiian vote.

The only things we can't bring back are native seeds or living plants/animals. I've brought back plants cuttings specifically packaged for such purpose, but other than that, I've brought back small lava stones, driftwood, shells and coral. Once the coral is white, it's no longer living.
