Fleetwood Mac Guitarist, Neale Heywood, Undergoes Cervical Disc Replacement by Dr. Woosik Chung

Neale Heywood, guitarist for the popular band Fleetwood Mac, began experiencing back pain when he was just 20-years-old when he incorrectly lifted a piece of equipment and tore the disc pad in his back. Despite undergoing surgery years ago, his recent pain once again became debilitating and prompted him to seek out the expert care of Dr. Woosik Chung with The Spine Program at Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center. Neale underwent a cervical disc replacement which created space for the spinal cord while also allowing the regions to maintain their natural motion. Just a few days post surgery, Neale was already enjoying life and hiking up in the mountains. Neale looks forward to touring again this year with the band and being able to sling a guitar strap over his neck without wincing in pain.
