Jellal is not entirely bad, he regretted the things he has done even if Ultear was the one who manipulated him. He kept telling people that it's his fault for the Tower of Heaven issue, and he doesn't want Ultear to blame herself. And he gradually changed trough out the story. Just saying :D
To me this is one if the most powerful and emotional love stories ever of all the fairy tail characters. Both Jellal and Erza have gone through pain, hate and sadness together. Even though Jellal changed she never gave up on him, she kept trying to get it through his head and eventually things worked out. Not a lot of people believe what they went through was a big thing. You see when person goes through the darkness. Its like a really long road leading to what you will become in the future. No one comes out of it the same person as they started. Some people never make it to the end either. Some people just cant handle it and end up doing horrible things to themselves or even others.(this is why some people are in mental hospitals, some as criminals, even some who are corrupt. Those who do make it come back are either broken, confused, afraid of themselves or others, angry at the world or if they were strong enough then they became better then they ever were before.

The thing is...Jerza is the only ship that shows how painful and true love can be. Nalu's relationship is cute to ship, but they haven't gone through what Jellal and Erza have gone through, all the pain, torture, humiliation. They drag each other out of the dark, protecr each other and truly form a bond that makes us root for them. Still, Gruvia, Nalu, and Gale are still cute.
