Thank you so much for your kind words and enthusiasm! I really appreciate you showcasing my work. Now that's been 3 years since I wrote this game and I've had a lot of feedback and time with it, I am actually streamlining a few things in the way you suggest in this video for the upcoming expansion. So I'm glad I seem to be on the right track!

This game AATDW was my first introduction to games created by Alex T. It is also the reason I am one of his Patreons and have supported a lot of his games since. I love this game. Been playing since it’s Patreon release and so happy to have kickstarted the rule book.

Saw the sale for this game on Drive Thru RPG, did the obligatory search for reviews and found yours. And had the book in the mail before the 20 min mark. This is the first of your videos I have seen and subscribed to the channel right away. The first 8min where a hoot. O and thanks for the tip on Tower House Creative I also picked up the full kit they had on Etsy, I never would have found it if not for your hard work and passion. Anyway Thanks.

Sounds inspired by Gateway by Frederik Pohl. Great sci-fi book if you have not read it. Makes me want to pick the game up.

on the solo rpg reddit, the creator stated they were a fan of the books. So it was was likely an inspiration.

This is definitely the result of me reading Gateway decades ago and having though since then that it would make an awesome RPG, haha

Waiting for my hard-copy, reading the PDF in the meantime. This game is definitely on the more complex side of things! Looking forward to getting started myself once that paper book hits my doorstep. Nice to see a video going over the various processes!

From what I can tell, it's a game that is tough to fully conceptualize at first, but then seems to come together. I haven't figured out a way to do a video on it, simply because I do live and unedited playthroughs and there is just a lot of bookkeeping that doesn't lend itself well to a "one shot" filming approach. But I do have a feeling that once it "clicks," it will feel like an automated process, the paperwork will fade to the back, and the gameplay will drift to the forefront.

This game sounds amazing! The way wounds work with the downed state reminds me of how damage works in gears of war. I've never played a game with a hex grid before and this one seems like it would be a great way to try it out

I don't read the talents rule as you MUST take the new one. It simply states that to equip it, you must drop an old one. I agree it still is weird to drop what you've learned for something new, but it's not necessarily crippling.

The setting sounds a lot like Fred Pohl's 1977 novel Gateway - asteroid found in solar system with ancient alien base filled with ships. People get on ships and they go somewhere. From Wikipedia:
"Nearly a thousand small, abandoned starships are located at Gateway. By extremely dangerous trial and error, humans have partially learned how to operate them. The controls for selecting a destination have been identified, but nobody knows where a particular setting will take the ship, how long the trip will last, or even if enough fuel is available to get back. Those who choose to risk their lives cram the limited space with equipment and hopefully enough food for the trip, but sometimes it is not enough, and they have to resort first to cannibalism, and if that is not enough, to suicide. Attempts at reverse engineering to find out how the ships work have ended only in disaster, as has changing the settings in midflight. Most settings lead to useless or lethal places. A few, however, result in the discovery of new Heechee artifacts and habitable planets in other star systems, making the crews extremely wealthy. The vessels were made in three standard sizes, which can hold a maximum of one, three, or five people. Some "threes" and many "fives" are armored. Each ship includes a lander to visit a planet or other object if one is found."

The ship part sounds a lot like Warp Shell, ICRPG. Cool concept and a good adventure catalyst. I like that mix with the exploration. And that loop keeps the game moving. Nicely done sir.

@@amanisalone I really enjoy it but my group didn’t grab hold. I have looked for ways to solo both the fantasy the Alfheim setting and the Warp Shell side. Would you be interested in doing a video on it? I quite enjoy watching and listening to your videos. You have such an easy and laid back approach. It’s like a watching friend. Thanks for your content, brother.

With little hope to get any fresh results I searched for ATDW and sorted by upload date.
Well what do we have here?!
Exactly what I need to prepare for tomorrow’s game, while not actually having time to prepare.
    Nice!
