That’s a shame. These books imprinted on me to wholeheartedly reject racism but I am not a black American so I can empathize with feeling humiliated by the reading of these texts.
Can you call it censorship? The books are still available in Welsh and U.K. libraries and in bookstores in an uncensored or redacted form correct? A schoolboard is changing its required reading list happens. Are they removing the books from school libraries as well in Wales? Wonder what they going to do, or have done about teaching and reading Shakespeares 'Merchant of Venice' and 'Othello'?

wow, Of Mice and Men is one of my all time favorite books. i always quote the poem. i didnt care much for To Kill a Mockingbird. I thought it was kind of boring
Because we all speak English... The UK doesn't have a monopoly on classic English language novels. Only fools dismiss knowledge because of where it came from.
These kids hear far worse from popular rap music 🙄
I wonder if they will remove Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain also for racial slurs. Or have they already removed it. And Huckleberry Finn?

I can't imagine they are allowed to read Huck Finn, and it's a great book.
words should be banned because of feelings?
Who's banning anything?
They're taking them off the syllabus, it doesn't mean you can't read them, it means you're not being *forced* to read them
@@eddy66t6 Keep making excuses for censorship.
These books were removed because of racism, modern day racism.
book banning is not that much diff. than with the 'red' states here in the US, have you been to Florida lately?
@ Floridian idiots do not make Welsh idiots any more justified.

It's 100% censorship
If you have that opinion, the book is too smart for you. Better to stick with comic books.
Nice, generations to come will never know. Nothing like covering your tracks using the very thing you're covering up. It's brilliant!

Mainly to keep deviant "progressive" filth away from children, not from adults.
Even the conservative counter response was still philosophically liberal. Both sides are represented by non-Welsh.

You're right... Let's see how many of these appalled parents actually bring their kids to the library to read the "banned" books 😂😂😂
It is certainly censorship.
It absolutely it is censorship and coddling
If they can't removed content of sexual nature then this is also illegal
