My friends and I come up Hwy. 395 and into Yosemite Park, through Tioga Pass in July. Pretty epic scenery. That was the first time I’ve ever gone up Yosemite from Tioga Pass.
how do those offroad tires perform on and offroad, compared to the stock metzeler tires? I saw you did 75mph with good stability, what about the traction?
They are awesome offroad. Much more traction and confidence inspiring than stock metzlers. On road you'll take about 1 ride to get used the knobbies. You will feel grooves in the road more than stock.
I like the GS for how nimble and light it is compared to the mid size bikes. However, sometimes I wish I had the room if the KLR650. With full luggage I am kinda cramped on the little GS. I also have to carry a fuel can because of the small tank. The KLR 650 will have no problem with range. I debated about picking up a KLR 650 but when I sat on it was a little too tall for me. Also it's 100lbs heavier and I already get exhausted picking up the GS. The KLR also has a 21inch front wheel which better for offroad. I think I would need more skill building before I upgrade to a bigger bike.
@@ScottyADV those are good point that I didn’t think of. I’m 6’2 and I can flat foot the klr but if I tried to put all my gear, and plus my size on the gs I might run out of space very quickly. I’m still torn on both. But I will be making my way through your videos here soon!
SW Motech are the brand I have. They protected my bike on the lower portion. They don't have upper crash bars so I have few scrapes on my upper fairings. If you want full protection look at the hepco and becker bars.
fantastic video
Thank you for watching!

Definitely an area I want to explore more
Ich glaube der rechte Gabelholm ist undicht geworden. Als Du aus der Miene rausgekommen bist sah es so aus. Grüße aus Deutschland 👍
Yes! I used a fork seal cleaner when I returned home. Sand and dirt were under the first seal.

Very cool video! How are you liking the gs? I’m seriously considering one or a klr 650

I have the BMW 310 GS cool bike but seat is too short on inn to much as a barely 6”1 rider this is a deal breaker eventually
Does your boots work good with your shifter as mine is tool small??
Yes, on my stock lever I just adjutsed how I shifted. I did get a longer lever though because I am eyeing new boots which have a higher toe box.
Which crash bars do you have on the GS? I'm looking at the Motech and SRC.

@@ScottyADV thanks, for thr reply. I was hoping the bars would extend far out enough, to atleast offer spacing to the upper area. :/
@@ScottyADV I dont really go off-road, my Bike i used to commute, and I will do some traveling around FL! (Visiting old castles, site seeing, etc...)
