@@lloydchristmas1086 if you’re talking about your speedometer cable, there’s a small O-ring on the inside of this the probe where the gear is. But this video I made is when I changed to a GPS speedometer and you don’t need a cable any longer so this is what I came up with to plug the hole.
This is helpful. I am running a GPS speedometer on my El Camino and I want that cable out of there. Did this prevent leaks completely thereafter? Great video and good problem-solving creativity!
On your Camaro you will probably need to change the speedometer gear they’re color-coded. You’ll have to look up a chart and find out which color gear to put in there. It’s just a plastic piece. It’s very easy to do you can Google it.
Keith and I am on this page I will get under the car and I will take a picture of the plug sometime next week. I’ll post to do one. Can you do your following me you’ll get a notification
3/4” to 7/8” rubber expansion plugs I bought mine from Amazon unfortunately they came from China so they took a while to come but I’m sure you could find them at AutoZone, Napa, parts America.
Why do these cables leak so much? As soon as it got hot here my 70' Elco started leaking atf fluid from cable and housing bullet.

Wanna do this to my 76 Camaro th350 was wondering how you track your speedometer now? My speedometer if off by 20-40mph
Idk if it’s broken teeth or if I can put a vss but still adapt it to the stock speedo?
I did this on my street rod a 32 Ford phaeton, and I purchased a GPS speedometer

Nice i just did mine 2 days ago. I also use the factory hold down just in case it wants to walk out.
Mine hasn’t worked out, or leaked
@@Rodfather. I hope I have the same outcome as you have

Mine just backed out. As I tightened the plug it expanded and backed out of the hole.
Be sure that you start with one that is tight to begin with.
Do you have a part number for the expansion plug you used? Autozone hires kids who don't know shit lol
