This is just what I am looking for, outstanding, these moments of your teaching that gets at the nuts and bolts.....of playing..thanks doc dc Happy Holidays!
Wow, the Record Club of America. If I'm not mistaken, you used to get 5 albums for a dollar when you joined. I joined under every name in the neighborhood! The best part of these lessons is watching how enthusiastic about the harp you still are after all of these years. Watching you just makes me want to play.
Adam is by far the best there is on here. This is the most entertaining lesson yet. I was nearly rolling on the floor laughing at his hoots(with all due respect), but when he scolds the audience I completely lost it. Funniest thing ever. I literally had to pause the video because I felt guilty. I hope I speak for the rest of us when I say.. WE LOVE YOU ADAM!! You are a great teacher and your lesson are entertaining..
Oh hell yeah, you've nailed Sonny, but that's no surprise! Happy New Year to you. I'm looking forward to another year of your great videos. Keep on Harpin'
THANKS for the great lessons, as always Adam...... just wanted to let folks know this album is available on Itunes. it's a reissue, on Geffen, called "A long way from home". and it has Brownie's name listed first, it's actually the record you talked about, and 'long way from home', combined, two records put out as one, and it gives a release date of march 24th 1998.
I applaud your willingness to plunge yourself headlong into this lesson with reckless abandon, for the benefit of our education despite the snide remarks that might follow be the narrow-minded.
That's a great Sonny Terry song--LOVE Sonny Terry! Just bought this song from the iTunes Store; its "Poor Man Blues" from the album "A Long Way from Home". But you do need a "B" harp on this version. Its a real fun lively Hootin' song !
Awesome vid as always, I'm a novice at best but I'm most def going to add whooping to my list on things to try, I like that tech at the end with the combo of singing and playing. Can you make a vid in the future that goes more into that?
Say what?! I was tossing wood around the shed and the idea of singing behind the reed came to my head. I immediately dismissed it as some kind of sin or travesty, along with the fact that I couldn't sing on the draw breath. Now you've opened Pandora's box. Ain't you happy!
Man, you don't need to justify wanting to cry out between playing, most of all if they're doing it in the cut. Folks who just don't get it, it's their loss. Keep up that good music
Don't ask me if I have tab sheets for this stuff... that's work.. this is play ..... :-) *LOL* ... only sad thing I'm afraid is these records will slowly dissapear and will one day be gone forever :(
neat
Check the tube, no way
