I've been playing the SC dark silver metallic since 2010. Still sounds awesome like this kit
Brilliant kit for the money. Attack, volume and projection in spades.
Can't hear much difference between this and my old Yamaha 9000 which cost loads more. Best value pro sounding kit out there!
IMO these are THE best deal, quality, sound and price. Don't buy into the 'more expensive is better' marketing. These stand up to my much more costly Maple Custom Absolute kit.
They are great sounding drums for the price or just in general. I've got a Tama superstar birch that I think is pretty solid too with great hardware. That's quite an endorsement to say these hold up to an absolute kit though!
i couldnt agree more. i think the cost difference between pro kits and mid level kits come from the hardware and finish options.
I have a the kit also .
Love them best drums under $900
I'm playing a 6 piece stage custom right now, 2 up 2 down. Can't play as good as Patrik tho 😢
This kit is the perfect deal.
Nice! Love Yamaha.
Nice half-time shuffle 👍
I own the exact kit. You can’t beat it for the price
WOW KICK 20x17 NICE!!!! 👏👏
huge sound
Nice presentation every clip! I was falling you long time ... Amazing!!! Every drum kit sound natural!
But I didn't see mic's? Over head maybe??
great kit
Yamaha stage custom shells are birch. Cheaper yamaha sets could be poplar or mahogany.
The stage custom kit is the biggest bang to date on the market...for the money spent. If the heads are tuned properly, these shells have a inviting tone.
I am diligently working towards a stage custom kit with a full line of Paiste 900 series cymbals. Remo drum heads.
The original heads on the stage custom work, but replacing the originals will turn the kit into a contender that can keep up with the other more expensive kits.
Lovely playing sir. I own a stage custom birch. So much quality for the price. One question. What reasonant heads are you using on the Tom’s?
Eargasm!
People think I joke when I say this but I honestly prefer Stage Customs to DW's. 🥁
Totally agree ;)
I agree, DW stands for Dollars Wasted.
@@Mr-Keyes True, also the pdp concept Maple sounds as good as a dw collector and dw performance. And the Yamaha stage custom sounds as good as the recording custom, scary close.
Dw e dw! Non scherziamo!
@@Mr-Keyes Lol, that's actually hilarious!
Is that set straight outa the box?
Is this birch?
Learn how to tune your skins properly and this will be the only kit you need to buy in your lifetime and given you teach one of your kids to tune the heads it can become a family heirloom. Heads, tuning and skill is what makes a drumkit sound great, not the price tag. Tip for beginners: Tighten the skins on both sides of the drum in a cross over pattern until the wrinkles are gone, then give the resonant head one full turn of the key and you are good to go, of course this will not be optimal but it will give you an idea of how it works.
Saludos.
