I am a Portuguese happily living in Oman. Definitely the best country in the Arabian Gulf to live in. An example that tradition and culture can be side by side with development and modernity. Very kind and educated people as well!

I love Oman having spent almost 3 years in different areas. I love the place, the people, and just the country in general. Very western (American) friendly, most everybody speaks good English and are always happy to embrace you as a friend. They just like to know you. Genuinely good and kind people!
And I never hear anything about them. The place sounds welcoming!

jayne andrews : From Muscat, You can take a round, starting from Nizwa Fort, then from passing through Tanuf Ruins, you can go to Al Hoota caves (Pre Book Tickets online), then you can see Bahla Fort (This one is very big and nice), then after this there is a expressway back to muscat, but lastly, there is jibreen castle which you can see when you'll reach the highway.
People are nice and friendly, No problem at all.
There are enough food points everywhere, in Nizwa fort, there is a restaurant inside.
And also, there are many restaurants outside. We had food outside the fort.
Please start driving from Muscat as early as possible, like by 5 or 6 AM.
There are enough number of petrol pumps on a road to Nizwa.
Al Hoota cave is amazing and a must watch, there is a restaurant there also, and also you'll enjoy a small train journey to the cave.
The ticket cost is : 6.5 OMR for adult expat.
We haven't booked the tickets, but we were lucky, we got 4 tickets in the 12:30 slot, and after that next slot was at 04:00 PM
All this, we covered in a day, and came back Muscat by 09:00 PM.

I love this country, literally adore. It is undoubtedly the jewel of Arabia, the most beautiful Arab country. It has everything a beautiful oasis, oil, wealth, amazing people, tolerant, nonviolent Islam. Certainly a good ruler, as well as the largest biodiversity in the Arabian Peninsula, ancient monuments and modern cities. Deserts and beautiful mountains, the sea. If he had extra Oman and Zanzibar and Pemba, he could not match his or any other country for its beauty. Competed with the most beautiful countries in the world, if it already is not among them without Zanzibar.
My other traveler's dream to visit Oman. In our very expensive vacation, one of the most expensive, but in another season, maybe financially achievable. Otherwise, Oman is worth about as much as India, about ten thousand more.
When they look for the heir to the throne sultan, reporting for duty. I knew something that would be in the country to improve and how to solve problems in the future. :-D

I was in the great Sultanate of Oman in the '90s. I was in Seeb & Barka I love it there: clean, modern. the Omani men, women & children were respectful & kind to expats. I have respect & admiration of His Highness Sultan Qaboos- a great leader!

Amazing! I was there for just one day, in November of 2016, for a dhow cruise. It was part of a day trip from Dubai, UAE. i hope to return to the Sultanate of Oman to explore Muscat, the souks, the mosques, the desert, the wadis - as much as I can see. Much love from the United States!

Over 80 percent of the frankincense in the world only grows in Somalia 🇸🇴, Oman has low quality frankincense in a small region of South west Oman in dhofar, while Somalia is the only country that grows the meydi frankincense, as well as Boswelia saccra, across all of Northern Somalia in the Golis and Karkaar mountain ranges of the Sanaag, Sool and Bari provinces
