@@KHLthe2nd that being said. As a two hander it would just be nice seeing two handed reviews cause even if it’s not exactly how every two hander bowls. It gives us a good idea. Better idea than just seeing one handed bowlers
I just picked up a Tropical Surge to use on really short/dry patterns, and as a spare ball the rest of the time. It's nice to see that you find it the most predictable out of the 3. I'm hoping to put holes in it this week or next. I wonder how these balls would take to surface changes...
I'm averaging 206 (1 hand, high rev, high speed). I picked up the Surge 3 or 4 months ago, first night shooting it I threw 11 straight. Since then I've thrown 12 (separate games) once and 11 several times. It is hands down my favorite 3rd game ball, sometimes 2nd depending on how many crankers are on my lanes. It is a fantastic ball. I haven't messed with the surface of it thus far, just a few runs through my rejuvenator.
I just got, and used, the tropical surge pearl tonight. With just getting into bowling seriously, i love the predictability. I havent bowled since 2007, because i broke my right hand. Being right handed, that created issues for me when i tried to bowl. I had to start bowling without my thumb, because of how and where my hand broke. I couldnt hold the ball the normal way anymore, so now i rest it on the thumb side of my palm, taking the weight off my pinky side where the damage is. The tropical surge can play nice and straight, or hook although they say it cant. I think it really depends or your swing, release, and rev rate. I naturally hook even when i play straight, the slower i am the more it hooks. Disclaimer i have an odd approach, and my release isnt a normal release due to my hand situation. My approach is that of a 2 hander, with a one hand no thumb release if that makes any sense. I say all that to say, the tropical surge is a really nice ball, and very user friendly.
So happy to see such great content from a Canadian store. Can't wait till your online store has more, as in Canada its so hard to get any product without spending $70+ in shipping. Much love from Nanaimo boys!

im getting back into bowling but previously my messenger ball got split down the middle so it’s hook isn’t as great as it used to be. i was considering the tropical surge but i decided to check out this vid and now i’m choosing the hustle rap. thanks so much
Have the Hustle RAP and Cherry / Black Tropical Surge. Used the Surge last week and played from the right side of the lane. It was controllable and was able to get into the pocket very well. It carried pretty well, too. It's lots better than the original Tropical which had very low differential. Haven't used the RAP much, but looking forward to giving it a try soon... Enjoyed your review...
I've got a Tropical Surge on the way. The one I ordered is the black cherry version though, but same ball as in this review. I'm excited to use it because I've had issues with my arsenal over hooking quite a bit ever since I transitioned over to 2H. Now that I'm throwing the ball two handed (no thumb) my rev rate is much higher than it used to be and it's causing my balls to over hook to the Brooklyn side of the pocket. I'm confident this Tropical Surge will allow me to move right quite a bit where as I'm unable to do that with my other balls. I've seen others dominate with this ball in league and I hope it will help me out so I don't leave so many splits. I still need to work on my ball speed as a 2H but until that time comes the Tropical Surge should be perfect.

I play two-handed. I am older -- 57 -- and not as fast or agile as in former years (I've been bowling 8-10 years). Predictability is what I'm looking for. Right now my favorite ball is the Twist (14 lbs). I can throw it straight up 14-15 (with slight moves left as necessary) and get my hand around the ball and it will strike. I just ordered the Tropical Surge, which is similar, and hope that ball is just as good with just a tad more hook which would justify buying it. My ball speed is only about +/- 12 mph which gives my bowling balls time to hook since I don't have to slow down (I just have to be sure to wrap my hand around it enough). My problem is speeding up, which is why I like balls that go straighter longer, otherwise they hook too early for me and I have to hook the lane to hit the pocket. I have a handful of balls that can hook the lane but playing that way can be hit or miss with me. Sometimes I'm spot on and other times, not so much. The entry level hook balls really do serve a purpose and "entry level" I think is not the best way to describe them. It makes them sound not too good or for players who aren't that good. For a while, I was buying high end balls because I thought I was getting a better ball. But what is better? You need a ball that suits your style of play. For example, I can score 225 with a less expensive ball and 175 with a more expensive ball. For league play, unless you're young and fast and consistently accurate, the less expensive balls can often be the better choice. And when I'm "feeling it" I can grab my Black Widow 2.0 and hook the lane.
Which ball for REAL wood? Old lanes, rarely oiled. Hook crazy when I bowl on weekends. Scorched-Fried. I'm ok with my hyped on the synth house but need a ball to hook (up the boards 14-15 mph) instead of making a direct hook to the 7 pin. Thanks.

Due to that his normal arm swing is effected as he can’t bring the ball back like normal - although he can curve it more. He’s going back to his normal thumb in release as he doesn’t want to develop a new arm swing for something he only uses with harder spare shots to begin with
