- My second Yamaha project!
I bought this Yamaha last summer and wanted to rebuild it just like my old Yamaha.
This video is just the first part of this bike's story. I will be updating and improving this bike many times. In the future the will be a second project video of this bike. Maybe something like 86cc TPR etc.. :)
The bike is a Yamaha DT 50R from 2009. When I got it, it was completely stock and had 15k kilometers on it.

List what I did to the bike:
Frame:
- Professional painted the frame, swingarm and some other parts.
- I painted forks, wheels etc myself.
- New forkfluids and seals
- New bearings for the wheels
- New front brake caliber
- New brake discs
- New sprockets and chain
- New axles for the wheels
Engine:
- 70cc Airsal Sport with 190° exhaust port and slightly modified piston
- Stage6 R/T 24mm PWK
- Stage6 V-Force 3 reed valve
- Stage6 air filter
- Stage6 carbon clutch
- TPR 24/28 PWK intake manifold
- Most 70-80cc 2017 exhaust
- Most 10mm intake manifold spacer
- Ducati ignition (MVT DD coming later)
- Stock crankshaft with Italkit conrod and bearings
- TPR SKF C3 bearings

Really nicelely done! I have a DT 50 for years in my garage and at times I was really hungry but no matter how hungry, or low on money at times I got I never would sell the bike =D Now years later things are doing better... and maybe in a year I have the time and money to rebuilt it!

it looks silly with that rear suspention lifter. stock hight would look more clean. otherwise great build :)
I agree, I am a tall guy and I hated the stock height so I had to put a small spacer for comfort. Thank you!
@@SandeProd did you put the spacer at the bottom of the rear spring or on top? how many cm?

in morocco we have the 1988 dt 50 125 360 but never managed to find a dt 2007 or higher and i don't know why

What type of black paint did you use for the fairings? Thinking about respraying my DT and putting new stickers on because the old stuff is factory and is 12 years old now.

The bolt that goes trough the front rim. Did you hammer it in or did you screw it in?
I can see some threads on the bolt but mine oes straight trough the fork.

So badass build bro. Im planning to rebuild the engine of my 1998 DT50 . Do i repaint it first or assemble the engine before repainting it?

Why u dont sell it and then buy yamaha dt?
Do you have any profit margins when selling your bikes or do you go all in and don't care if you might not go profit on your builds?
I always lose money with these projects but it is ok because that is not the point. I love doing these projects so if I dont profit it is not that big of a deal.

Where do you buy your'e parts and what spray do you use?
I want to build a 50cc bike like this and put a 70cc or 100cc cilinder on it, but i was wondering if i can still ride long distances on it (sometimes a few hours) without problems or will the cylinder get too hot?
You can, but you have to have a good cooling. Condsider an aftermarket fan on your radiator.

Hey man I just got my malossi short neck and stage6 r/t 26mm pwk carburetor for my dt50r 07 like your bike. But my air filter doesn’t fit it’s so small between the back fender and carburetor I don’t what to do. The air filter is a stage6 double racing how did you fit yours?
I just pushed it in there. It wasn't perfect but it worked. Later I made one myself from a Pipercross filter to fit perfectly.
Sande thanks for the answer. i got it to work I ordered a justable intake that goes 360 so you can spin it around. Also had to get a malossi e13 for it to fit! :-)

where did you get the decals from?
please tell me how the fk u changed the airfilter, or got the "airbox" out, cant get it out of the carburettor and out of the frame of my Dt,
I had to disassemble the rear end of the bike completely to get it out.

I know this is an old video but where is the gasket that is going between the 2 engine blocks in the gasket kit?
In AM6 engines there is no specific gasket for it. You have to put gasket mass between them yourself.

I don't know about uk but in Finland, Sweden etc... we have alot of these. And yeah they are street legal.

HeK thank you. Here in the US we have the old 1970 and 1980 dt 125 250 and 360. But we also have moped and anything past a 50cc is registered as a motorcycle and have different laws and you have to get a m class license
ye in germany they are called supermoto and are something between street bike and enduro and they are street legal

Kiitos! Ei oo häkkikoroa vaan 5 cm koropala iskarin alapäässä. Runko sun muut osat on hiekkapuhallettu ja maalattu sitten ruiskulla kestävällä semigloss mustalla.
You replaced the transmission with a stock one , or is there something aftermarket ?
New stock one.
how many rpm can it go ? my dt50 is normally stuck on 8000 and sometimes 9000 how do you get the high rpm's ?
I don't know, I haven't checked. But I think that it can go something like 12-13k?? And you have to have an exhaust that can go that high so the powerband is higher. You can't do that with stock exhaust. And then cylinder makes a big difference too and cylinder mofidying. If you want to go even further you can buy new ignition, like MVT Digital Direct... Everything affects it.
Drill from middle of your cdi box with 15mm drill bit. I did it and worked really well. -Sande's managerteam

BR9ES/EG toimii mut ite tykkäsin BR10EG. Pääsuutinta 140 lähtisin kokeilee ja siitä sit pienempää tai suurempaa tarvittaes.

Hey nice video, im thinking of buying an aprilia rs 50 which has the same engine as yours. Is this engine easy to rebuild, is it reliable as a 70cc? Thank you.
It is very easy to rebuild and even as a 70cc it can be very reliable.
I also have an rs 50, putting my malossi 77 big boar and del auto carb in this week:)

I've built one myself. Alot more powerfull tho ahah. How did you manage to break the tranmission? Mine's holding pretty nicely to 25 Horsepower...
The engine is very old and used and had always been 50cc so it didn't handle the 70cc...
Hmm sounds plausible ahah, altough for it to break that way it seems that the gearbox had been under stress like failed burnouts etc.
Yeah that is possible but I just rode it pretty carefully but still it broke.
