      Beautiful, and so cute. Glad he enjoys it. It's art meant to be enjoyed by everyone who wants to. It's not really any different than any other performer out there doing shows. Kids are smarter than we give them credit for, and see and understand more than most adults by way of not usually being biased. And really most of it is child appropriate, but the real tea is that people aren't really concerned about kids watching/seeing it. It's 100% a distraction to vilify people because the right knows they can use people and manipulate their anger so people don't look at real issues to be concerned with.

      "that you've been to" so will you admit not every "family friendly" drag show actually is? If even one kid gets scarred from an inappropriate family friendly drag show, does that not matter? Obviously many more then one kid are. Same does go for priests. Children should never be forced into certain spaces, religious and/or sexually involved spaces. If you want this form of artistic expression for children, it should be rebranded. Drag was never meant for kids (until recently, apparently). That's like making stripping, but family friendly. Just make it "not too revealing". Disgusting

And she's the example of how sensible and beautiful a drag artist's essence and heart is. How can you think it is evil or ill-intent? when in reality, Jinkx as many many drag queens have brought JOY, LAUGHTER, ART, PERFORMANCE and ENTERTAINMENT to so many people. In fact, I would rather see my kid watching artists like RuPaul, Jinkx, Sasha Velour, and so many many others ANY DAY, over any old man pushing a political agenda or embracing violence and justifying it as acceptable. We live in a hypocritical society which fails to address important problems and distracts us with a bullying circus.

      Just because something is joyful doesn't always make it right honey. It's fine in adult spaces. Why should kids be allowed to something that used to strictly be allowed for adults and adults only. Here's your answer: y'all always want to be more inclusive, as if it's never enough. Not everyone is ment to be inclusive to everything. Society is combusted with people from far right and the far left, I am disgusted by the fact that society has no common sense. There is obviously a compromise to be had but people are too proud on both ends to find it.

    • @MsElectricLover
      @MsElectricLover Рік тому +3

      @@EmberFlames_Jag I disagree. Majority of the places that have drag performers are 21+ venues. And the ones where kids could be potentially "exposed" to them are with the consent of their parents, no 5-year-old take themselves to a drag performance, there is.a parent who makes decisions and choices on what that child gets exposed to. Furthermore, when kids are part of an audience the drag performer is usually aware of that and they tone it down or tailor the show for that audience, meaning they are careful with the language and stuff displayed. Do you have substantial amount of evidence to back the accusations up about drag queens and LGBTQ+ art acts endangering kids? Because I've done my fair share of research and the numbers, statistics and analyses say otherwise; in fact a child's integrity is WAY MORE LIKELY to be compromised in the hand of PRIESTS, PASTORS, MALE RELATIVES, MALE AUTHORITY FIGURES, FEMALES IN A POSITION OF POWER. I know that a young child's criterion and psyche is not fully developed to discern between good or bad, however the vast majority kids have parents or grown ups that are fully responsible of whatever the kid is exposed to, same happens with uncensored music...if you do not control it, and if the kid is exposed to it, it is not the kid's fault, it is YOUR responsibility as a parent. Nobody is forcing your kids to watch a drag show or witness a drag queen. IT IS A PARENT WHO ALLOWS IT OR NOT.

    • @celestialhumanoid
      @celestialhumanoid Рік тому

      @@EmberFlames_Jag the left is composed of people who want a change in the current society, and the right the the ones who want to keep society as it currently is, the farther on each spectrum the more the desire.
      The thing with centrism is that you can't make compromises between doing something and not doing it, it just ends up leaning into the right spectrum.
      Centrism wants compromise for decisions that can't have in betweens, for example this Tennessee bill, if you are against it you're on the left side obviously, if you want it to stay you're not. There's no keep a part of the bill, and no amount of "its fine but keep it away from children" can help, this bill is so vague it also targets trans people on the streets, and makes them feel even more discriminated against.
      And about the topic of trans people, there are only 2 sides, you're either with them, or against them, centrists might say "keep them away from kids", but that does mean being against trans people (and it affects the rights of trans kids, who are already struggling )
      The political spectrum can't have an in between.

    Well said Jinkx, that's exactly what I think. Introducing kids to drag is fine as long as the content is not sexual. in the UK we all grew up watching the pantomime dame, who is traditionally a man dressed as a woman. The dame is always the best character in the show and children love them. The trick is to make the little ones laugh whilst giving a cheeky nod and a wink to adult humour that goes over the childrens' heads. I'd definitely take my kids to a child friendly drag show. Not only would I take them to see Jinkx but I'd happily allow them to be alone with her overnight. She has a heart of gold...I know because I've met her twice. According to the media there have been far more individuals in positions of authority (elected officials, teachers, religious officials, lawyers, doctors, executives, etc.), both male and female, accused or convicted of sexual misconduct against minors.
    Drag is not a lucrative profession by nature, to make a living you have to work extremely hard securing gigs, especially at the beginning of your career as you have no reputation that precedes you.
    Even if your child is somehow influenced to behave inappropriately because they saw a drag queen reading a book out loud, it is your responsibility as their parent or guardian to explain to your child how to make better behavioural choices. Trying to censor the world is not going to help your child when they are facing moral dilemmas in the future. Parents need to step up and do their job instead of trying to control the rest of the world to ensure that your child is shielded from everything you see as wrong. And if you find drag deplorable - you are completely entitled to your opinion - do not attend a drag performance or event. It is quite simple. No drag queen wants to chase you down the street - that is not what those heels were designed for!
