My parents were Huskies, I am a Sophomore at UW, I have been going to games since when we used to be good. I watched full grown men around me cry. A guy that has sat next to us since I was 7 broke out an unopened bottle of Crown Royal which he said he had been bringing to games for some years and said pass it around. He didn't even drink any all he said was "I'm going down to the field" with a misty look in his eyes. Jake and Sark have brought the dream back to Seattle. Looking forward to '10
Been a Huskies fan since I was a kid and I've been watching vintage Huskies games today and sure brought me back some good memories, thank you Huskies for making my life better. AMEN
This game, which I was so fortunate to see in Husky Stadium, will always be one of my sweetest, happiest memories. We'll certainly miss entire Senior Class 0f 2011 - many thanks, Huskies!
Went with my Husky older cousin - we both had birthdays that week - as did the gentleman sitting to my right. We went nuts. (Pete Carroll's birthday that week also.) What a superbly wonderful way to celebrate!
Agreed. Petersen's peak was with a lot of Sark's recruits and when the roster was all his the teams weren't nearly as good. Obviously Petersen had a much better record but he owes a lot of his success to Sark and the rebuilding job he did prior to his arrival. And the atmosphere at home games was much better during Sark's tenure. Exciting the fan base was probably his strongest attribute. Petersen didn't really seem to give a damn in that area. It was pretty disheartening that we were one of few teams that went to 3 straight New Years bowls yet the crowds were dead.
@@AaronStark1993 yep its unreal how tame husky stadium has been the last few years. From one of the most hyped crowds in sports to just another 70000 seat stadium in short order. Im excited to see what jimmy lake brings to the table!
@@buckfuttler2877 - I’m just glad that I experienced Husky Stadium when it was truly a raucous place. It’s sad that the younger generation will never feel that kind of excitement.
That's a loud stadium. When the fans roar, you can feel it a mile away. It's an exhilarating feeling. One Saturday morning I was hiking Interlaken park. I was actually scared when I heard the crowd over a mile away erupting in a loud cheer. It evoked imaginings of what it might have been like to have been a hoplite facing tens of thousands of Persians on a real battlefield somewhere two thousand years ago. The images became real to me for one brief moment, and it was quite scary actually hearing so many thousands of people yelling suddenly in unison when I was not expecting it.
ya i got season tickets and they way the last couple seasons have gone there was no way i wasnt storming that field. i was one of the first 50 people to the W in the middle of the field
On the last play of the drive, the USC player that makes the tackle jumps up and does a little dance. Really? You're about to lose the game, and you probably would have been smarter to just let him score and try to get the ball back. But he made a solid tackle, so by all means... jump up and strut and preen.
Seahawks picked up Whitehurst to avoid picking a quarterback early this year and put themselves in position to get Locker next year. Pete and crew are going to show people they are no fools. They know what getting Locker would do for the fan base in Seattle let alone the Seahawks. If he stays healthy he could be a great player and leader in the NFL. Matt will be gone next year and Whitehurst will be expected to step up or be replaced by a new quarterback Carroll and his crew choose.
Honestly if the Heisman is supposed to go to the best player in college football Locker will win hands down. Even without his feet I think he's a top three quarterback in college football easy. Add his feet and forget about it. Yet the Heisman usually goes to the most productive player on the best team, and the Huskies will not be the best team.
Does anyone have the full game? I was delivering mail and listening on radio. I ran in to a Burger King to watch the final moments. would love to see the whole thing.
@sizemosport lol I don't think anyone expected the Hawks to make the playoffs, let alone get past the wild card round. Locker will be gone before the Seahawks can pick sadly
It's a hand-cranked air raid siren. For a while, I think they were playing a recording of the siren over the PA system, but they seem to have the siren back in the stadium, today.
kimisdaman it’s a world war 2 air raid siren that had been intended to be used in the event of a Japanese air raid (Boeing built thousands of planes in Seattle during WW2)
The vikings need to watch this video and draft this guy so win the vikes make it to the NFC championship game he doesnt throw it across his body and cost them the game
Tomorrow, Jake Locker leads the ranked-for-the-first-time-this-century Washington Huskies against the legacy-admission-Hoover-Institution-harbouring Stanford Cardinal. It's payback time!
I'm not a UW or USC fan (and maybe this has been discussed already) but what was the deal with #52 celebrating right before his team was about to loose? What a freaking bonehead.
@xxbubbyxx2 no we don't need someone that good. we have the best running game in the nfl..give me locker and we are the favorite in the NFC. Cherish your SB win because the NFC South is about to be ours.
@Brooklynbroncofan broncos will not draft a QB in the first round they have kyle orton and they just traded for brady quinn and there is no way that locker is making it out of the first round
Yeah pretty embarrassing (me being a USC fan) to see that idiot linebacker celebrate like that, like he wasn't aware that they were about to kick a game-winning FG. Fortunately, he wasn't a starter at USC. He spent his career injured and rarely played. He sucked.
WHAT A CHEAP SHOT. On the field goal attempt, an SC player was blocked close to the kicker, but the SC guy obviously rolled into the kicker on purpose and the kicker fell down. A flag should have been thrown, because if the the kick was missed, a penalty would have given Washington another field goal attempt. Typical cheap shot Trojans.

say what you will about Sark, but ill always have a place in my heart for the guy that really started the turnaround!
Saying the same thang bro bark for sark
Buck Futtler I’m with you...

Pete Carroll's thinking "I want to coach in THIS city"
And “this jermaine kearse dude is clutch”
This gives me chills just hearing the crowd like that, and I'm an Alabama fan... Tons of emotion right there.

What the band plays when Washington scores is one of my favorites.
i was at that game! best game i have ever seen
this is the game i watched by accident, and realized, this guy is special, i don't care what his senior season was like...
Jake heroics!
Carroll still looks the same, here in 2019. The ageless one...
face lifts... they work.
7:15
The guy who controls the horn just starts blaring it nonstop. lol
that fucking gave me tears bro. Seeing the team and the fans react like that. I'll always be a Husky.
"I'm a locker stocker" -Jon Gruden
finally i find some highlights where jake locker actually throws the ball rather than just running all the time. not to bad
Goosebumps, every time I hear that siren.
Locker is a gifted passer and runner. Can make all the different kind of throws. He's like a mix of Caleb Williams and Russell Wilson.
10 years of bad football and now we get this WOOOOOFF WOOOOFF LETS GO DAWGS!!!@#@#!
Now we are good...In control of PAC 12 North after WSU beat Oregon. Go Dawgs!!!!!!
Polk was a stud. They had guys that played their asses off. I appreciated that.
Probably the loudest I’ve personally heard this stadium.
that throw at 3:49 is phenomenal
I laugh everytime I see #52 celebrate @4:46 like they're not about to lose the game.
Jake Locker showed why he’s a Huskies Legend.
Steve Young said he is one of the best QB prospects in a dcade
A new era in Husky football has begun!
Damn, it feels good to be a Husky
Can't wait until this same thing happens against the Ducks.
well, not quite lol....but ill take 70-21 all day!
Locker's always been a gamer. Now he's a gamer with a pro offensive line.
its a new era in husky football, way to turn this shit around sark! GO DAWGSSSSSSSS
USC has never gotten over this let's be honest.
go huskies!
great video, thanks uploader :)
ya i got season tickets and they way the last couple seasons have gone there was no way i wasnt storming that field. i was one of the first 50 people to the W in the middle of the field
He put the team on his back doe!!
Ranked for the first time this century? We won the Rose Bowl and finished #3 in 2001.
Can’t believe I was at this game, I was like 6 and wanted to storm the field, but my brother and step dad held me back knowing I’d get trampled😂
w/e dude the point is that they are much better than last year
watch matt ryan's final drive vs V Tech
unbelievable and a lot more was on the line for the eagles
JAKE LOCKERRRRRRR
aka
THE TRUTH!!!!!
WHO SAYS GROWN MEN DONT CRY! GO DAWGS
jake locker is going to be a carolina panther in 2010. the next steve young is going to lead us to super bowl baby!
when i watched this i couldnt beleive it... if we get a bowl game locker has the heismen and #1 overall pick GO HUSKIES!!!

How are you feeling about the seahawks picking up Jake now?
DAWGS HOUSE!! I would love to see the Seahawks get Locker in the 2011 draft.
how about let's wait for a QB by the name of Danger Russell
Look at all the folks in Seattle going out to greet the new Seahawks coach.
I would have liked to see a rematch of former 3A Washington Qbs Washington vs Boise St...Locker vs Moore
Seahawks picked up Whitehurst to avoid picking a quarterback early this year and put themselves in position to get Locker next year. Pete and crew are going to show people they are no fools. Watched it live and was on tv afterwards. One of my favorite memories.

What kind of horn is that when they score

Steve Sarkesian FTW!
Whenever USC had to defend Locker, they tried to hurt him
Of course Jermaine Kearse with the clutch grab in a big game... who knew!
would have been amazing to have been there
I just wept. Bow Down to WASHINGTON.
Tomorrow, Jake Locker leads the ranked-for-the-first-time-this-century Washington Huskies against the legacy-admission-Hoover-Institution-harbouring Stanford Cardinal. It's payback time!

Locker and Sankey in Tennesee, rushing time.....
Or not.
+Intricate Zebra should of been. Even Mariota sees the difficulty of playing in Tennessee.
Very true.
Awesome!
Hopefuly Locker stays home and gets drafted by Seattle.
@bigmikecotten idaho is in the same conferece as bsu but ya we did win the week before. i was at that game
i saw him kill my high school team too when i was in 6th.... and my team was good! they beat teams by like 50 each game.... fucking monster
@xxbubbyxx2 no we don't need someone that good. we have the best running game in the nfl..give me locker and we are the favorite in the NFC. Cherish your SB win because the NFC South is about to be ours.
if UW keeps beating USC there will be a new rivalry in the pac 10... soon to be pac 12
hitch in his delivery? your confusing him with Tim tebow
@GETURPOPCRNRDY thats the thing. he's in college at a whole new level than anyone around him....especially his teammates. nuff said
@CaliOrangeCounty Hate to break it to you but he is heading to the vikings:)

@metaberules1 yeaaaah. i was there!!! ran onto field after the game!!! crazy
My dumbass was 6 and I still rushed the field
Lol it's funny that the previous year UW was winless, then WSU was winless the year this happened. Haha
@Brooklynbroncofan broncos will not draft a QB in the first round they have kyle orton and they just traded for brady quinn and there is no way that locker is making it out of the first round

I laugh everytime I see #52 celebrate @4:46 like they're not about to lose the game.
It's been nearly a decade and a half, and that's still hilarious
