Toronto Walks: Danforth Ave - The Main Street that Never Grew Up

I wanted to shoot this video to contrast with the last Steeles Avenue East video.
For fun, starting from the intersection at Victoria Park, count how many buildings you see (along the street, not in the distance!) that stand taller than 4 stories. The entire section from there to where we finish at Broadview station has been home to the east end of the Bloor-Danforth (Line 2) subway line since 1966. But, it's successfully fought off almost all efforts at redevelopment over the years. So unlike Steeles, we have high level transit, but almost no density.
It's one of the reasons we're short both affordable housing and have traffic issues: with the exception of parts of the Yonge and Bloor lines, we haven't brought people to our subway lines by growing up around them.
