Nah so far it seems pretty mediocre
Please do elaborate what about it is "mediocre" because so far its doing its exposition well, from multiple sources who aren't 100% experts themselves so there's room for info growth. There's a good amount of drama and world building. We have no dumb teenage antics/humor. Only real complaint (which is minor) is that they really need to do their previews better. Since its pointless to have cliffhangers when you show that so-said character is doing alright in the preview.

I don't think that the other shows will break out of the "generic OP"-boundaries and Kokkoku's OP is suprisingly good in succeeding with the attempt, it is nearly perfect. In the end you can't decide which is "best" because it always depends on the personal preferences and taste. ;)

Crunchyroll nominations are trash, don't really care because their awards means nothing. 2016 are horrible especially, gay on ice almost grab all the awards despite there's better anime that could've won.
@@foxley95 Their nominations are certainly 'improving' but their "judges" still have a habit of throwing in bad picks for ulterior motives. Lily Hoshikawa somehow getting a nomination for Best Girl when she's not even remotely best girl in her own show tells me there's some LGBT pandering going on thats really behind that pick. And good grief can you tell they liked Megalobox and Aggretsuko a bit much? The only category that actually looked pretty good was the nominee list for Japanese voice acting and the list for Best Boy. The rest were half good and half BS. And they put FIREWORKS on the list for Best Film. FREAKING *FIRWORKS* LOL. I voted for it just for the hope of creating a meme when it somehow wins Best Film.

I watched this anime because of this OP. I know it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but I loved it. There were some weak points in the plot, but it was overall interesting and I thought the characters were charming. It was nice to see a family be the focus and a cast that was a little different than what we usually see in a scifi or fantasy anime.

The animation is extremely satisfying.
Currently in a dilemma between this and Devilman Crybaby.
Edit: this Opening won my heart.
Devilman has a really good story and Yuasa's art style is just "Oh, so good!!". Add to that an epic OST and it checks almost all boxes.
But Kokkoku is also looking promising with the intriguing premise of The Stasis and The Herald.
Peeps say that Spring 18 will be THE season, but this one is just as packed as well.
Devilman Crybaby was the greatest fucking shit, and if this op is any indication of the quality of this, then 2k18 is going to be a revolutionary year for anime
