I had the honor playing with Eric in High school back in the late 70's and he was a AWESOME trumpet player! He had all kinds of M.F. horns in his collection!
It sounds terrific. By that, I really mean YOU sound terrific! I think you should record all your videos in that room. It really helps the presentation, and does not take away from the authentic sound of the instrument.
My mid 70's YEP-321 is quite poor. Won't play in tune with any mouthpiece and has valve slides that are too long. Low C is so flat it's actually a B. Tone color is boring and inflexible, and dynamic range is limited. I've played Chinese instruments that absolutely blew it out of the water. Yamaha has improved a lot in the last 50 years.
I love that you are playing on the MV3C...still my favorite mouthpiece! I think I've been playing on it for 4-5 years and still love it. I'm waiting for my 11 year old to NEED a pro horn so that I can give him my Gen 1 8335 Xeno and upgrade myself...maybe to this 8330EM
You sound great Trent! I tried a friend’s one of these and I loved it! It’s the only horn I’ve tried that feels like and is as easy blowing as my Kanstul French Besson Meha. The EM is definitely a great horn.
Thank you for the review, i can hear that is superior to the 8340 EM , flash action,. Back to saving pennies, i like the 8335LA ll and his GR mouthpieces , but that lower sound ( like an easy flumpet tone )hooked me up that thank to you Master.
If I didn't already play trumpet, that sound would make me want to start. The clarity in all ranges is really special. Absolutely gorgeous.
Thank you!

Eric is an amazing person and artist!

I have never known any musical instrument from Yamaha to be less than excellent.

Trent, you sound great on all of the horns you pick up. Have to say though, this one sounds special.
Tried that in your shop the other day, definitely a phenomenal horn

Thanks for the videos! I love the sound and ordered one for myself.
That opening lick made me thing you were about to play Pensativa! 😂
I tried one here in Japan (hard to find even here at the moment) and actually liked the new Bergeron a little better. Both are very fine trumpets.
The mark I also had a reverse second-valve slide.
Trent
How does the 8330 compare to the Warburton CF horn. I have the CF on order from Terry and I've owned the 1st gen 8340 and loved that horn.
Totally different horns
your sound amazing. which one is your favorite 8330em vs 8310z
Does it have a 3rd slide water key? Or is it like what strads have?
did you watch the video ;) ?
That horn sounds good. I'm dB
Thanks DB! Hope you are groovy!
i tried a model 1 in silver for a week, waaaay to bright for my setup (i play bobby shew lead mostly). Is the second gen darker?
i think you really sound good on it!
Thanks!
