    The first time I watched this, it was because I was genuinely interested in learning the timeline. I always come back to it because of its beautiful visuals and epic music. This is truly wonderful AND informative.

    This is why I believe that The Legend of Zelda is the best video game franchise ever made. Loads of different stories, theories, and timelines. Along with beautiful music, unforgettable characters and storylines. Plus, each game has so many side-quests, and even more characters that you can come to know and love.

      Chineye Aworh Kingdom Hearts is kind of more tactical (learn abilities and different attacks, combining things to get better, aleays sidequesr rhat give you thing to improve your arsenal) in Tloz you aleqys get all your tools, sidequests are more like obligatory if you want to pass the game, same battle mechanic always and not many tactics (jsut shield and jump) dont get me erong i like zelda too

    This is why I adore Zelda. So many timelines, so many theories etc etc and they mostly all come down to Link, Zelda and Ganondorf. I'd like a modern time Zelda someday. I know it would be a stretch, bit if they could keep the Zelda formula, I'd love it.

    I know why there's a 'link is defeated' timeline. it's because you can't save after beating Ganon in OOT. that's annoying!! so this is what happens when link doesn't even show up at the tower and instead devotes himself to collecting all the skulltulas and heart pieces D:

    To be perfectly honest, Hyrule Historia or not, I still don't really worry about which games are related to which, nor what order they were supposed to have occurred in and I never have understood people's obsession with placing a firm time line into a series that was clearly never meant for one.
    I always found there to be a huge amount of fun in the mystery about how games were connected to each other. The similar, but clearly different places and worlds, the references that certain games threw in to suggest a link with certain previous games (like the stain glass windows in wind wakers chamber of the master sword), and even the fact that some of them made no attempt to link into any of the others full stop and could easily just have been separate worlds all to themselves.
    With that in mind I never have understood why people wanted a firm timeline so badly.

    • @PhilosopherGaming
      @PhilosopherGaming 11 років тому

      mrgeetah
      you see that's the thing, I think people have been trying to put together a puzzle where there is none, so a lot of the pieces don't just don't fit and have to be forced together. The lord of rings universe was written to be taken as a whole, the Zelda universe wasn't. Also as I alluded to in my original comment, there is fun in things remaining a mystery.

    The time line has always been so confusing for me, but I wont lie Ocarina of time was the first Zelda game I played, then i played the squeal to it Majora's Mask, and it wasn't till later till i played some of the older games.

    So in real life, I could create a multi-timeline; I die in like 2070 and I reincarnate back into 1988 as a boy again creating timeline B and in the other timeline, which was timeline A, I reincarnate into like 2105 as a girl. Timeline B would be almost the same as Timeline A except I have a slightly different life and decide to prevent the mistakes made in Timeline A like having Autism. So Timeline B changes the events that would normally lead to Timeline A just like in OoT, the Child Link timeline changes the events that unfold in the Adult Link timeline. BTW, I believe in reincarnation and right now I'm unsure if I want to reincarnate into the past or the future, I'm pretty much worried about the latter. I really want to come back as a girl regardless of the time period I reincarnate into; past, present, or future.

    • @lloydusj9275
      @lloydusj9275 10 років тому

      How come your reincarnating twice?

    • @03bgood
      @03bgood 9 років тому

      Lloydus J It's kinda like in Zelda, how three different Hyrules exist across 3 timelines; one of which is buried underwater and forgotten and the other two being basically the same as the one in the unified timeline prior to OoT.

    • @lloydusj9275
      @lloydusj9275 9 років тому +1

      Does reincarnation involve coming back in the past or future? If you die in 2070 your saying you reincarnate twice from the same time...2070. Once to a boy in 88 and once to a girl in 2105... It doesn't make sense to me... Can you elaborate?

    • @03bgood
      @03bgood 9 років тому

      There would be two different timelines just like WW and TP occur in two different realities. My life as a boy again would be like TP and my life as a girl would be like WW.

    • @doomed2063
      @doomed2063 9 років тому

      The many worlds theory in science postulate that there are infinite timelines with new ones being created and branching out all of the time, so The LoZ series having multiple timelines makes perfect sense and allows future developers endless storytelling possibilities.

      TheSilverazo in fairness, in each game, the character imploring links help have been essentially telling link he is the reincarnation of the hero of time that had saved hyrule oh so many years ago. So each game is operating under the assumption it came after the time period of legend of Zelda and ocarina of time, which seem to be considered the original time periods. So in a way, there is a timeline, there's just not a distinction in the games which ones come in order after the original time link supposedly saved hyrule.

    No need in defending what is already powerful enough to make people rage, cry, contemplate, reminisce, collaborate, argue about, and many other things. Zelda is a milestone in video gaming history, and I for one, will never forget it.

    It would be cool if they made a game like this for the newer consoles that has all the Zelda games and you can just select the one you want to play. Like an anniversary edition or something. Would be bomb.

    If anyone was wondering, the Hylian text at 2:35 reads "One day, a strange mark, exactly the crest of the kingdom, appeared on the back of Links hand as he approached his sixteenth birthday. The worried Link went to Impa, princess Zelda's nursemaid who..." and it cuts off there

    This is a well done timeline documentary, what intrigues me most is at 1:08 in there is a shot of the opening to the first Legend of Zelda opening screen at 16 by 9 without being stretched. My only question is where can I find this?!!

  • @RespectedGamer72

    Zelda games don't have the traditional:
    beginning
    middle
    end
    They have:
    the moment you get your green tunic
    the moment the plot takes an unexpected turn
    the moment you seal the evil one away (supposedly) forever
    I love this series!
