  • RMS Titanic was a British ocean liner that sank on 15 April 1912 as a result of striking an iceberg on her maiden voyage from Southampton, England to New York City, United States. Of the estimated 2,224 passengers and crew aboard, 1,496 died, making the incident the deadliest sinking of a single ship at the time. RMS Titanic was the largest ship afloat upon entering service and the second of three Olympic-class ocean liners built for the White Star Line. Under the command of Captain Edward John Smith, who went down with the ship, Titanic was reputed to be "unsinkable" due to its advanced safety features, such as watertight compartments and remotely activated watertight doors.

Minor quibble in that the aft stack (rearmost) is not a smoke stack as it was not for engine exhaust like the front 3 stacks so it be more accurate without the foam 'smoke'. But aside from that it is a fantastic build. No subbed.

@@dariosmodelbuilds Yeah, others have pointed that out to me. I honestly wasn't aware of that. My only fear is that the missing smoke will look visually odd to the uninformed, so I have opted to keep it as is. I'm also told that the fourth funnel did omit a lesser amount of smoke than did the other funnels, as it vented the first-class fireplace smoke (the only real fireplace onboard) and the galley ovens.
Also, I took a Little liberty with the sunken ship as well. The stern is really supposed to be pointed in the opposite direction, but I thought it would be more conducive with the model to place it as is. I think creative license is acceptable, especially given that there's supposed to be 650 ft between the bow and stern, with a massive debris field in between.

@@Mr_Craftician I understand that sometimes accuracy means something that just doesn't look right. I just wanted you to be aware. It was one reason I did not add smoke to my own Titanic diorama. I thought you did a marvelous job with the sunken section. That was probably a lot harder than the floating model itself. Well done.

@@dariosmodelbuilds The 4th smokestack was functional, not purely decorational. It provided an exhaust for the kitchens. So it would not be as prominent as the initial 3, it did work.

Was the sea bed Titanic built using a 3D printer?

@@DavidMPincus No, sir. I bought the same kit and built it twice, one to display and one you wreck. (I also had to refab the display chip, to make it more accurate. Took me an extra week or two).

amazing, but the 4th funnel is fake so no smoke coming from there
