The Parihaka Scenic Reserve is an ancient volcano that was once a historical Maori defensive settlement. The Maori are the indigenous people of New Zealand. Once you reach the top, you will see the WW II Memorial that was built to remember those who lost their lives during the war. It also offers spectacular panoramic views over the city and harbor so this summit is just the perfect way for us to introduce you to the city where we currently live - Whangarei.
